Hey guys, I'm already planning my next disney trip, it's only been 6 months since the last trip and yet it some how feels like years! Atleast I can share my obsession with the people here, I don't think people in the "real" world understand, ahaha Anyways, on to my question, I'm thinking of planning a trip for May considering I'll be out of school. What is the weather like the time a year and are the flowers in bloom? When we went in February I noticed the lack of flowers and blooming trees in Epcot because of the time of year. It seemed as if something was missing. How are the crowds this time of year? Anything else I should know?

We been there twice in May (the week before Memorial weekend). We love it. It's warm. We found the crowds to be low to moderate. We are going again in May 2005 (haven't even done this years trip yet and we are already planning the next one! )

Weather wise, it does rain a little more than in October, but not as much as July & August...and we never had a "cold" day. In fact a couple days were blazing

May is a great month to visit the world.......and to answer one of your questions, yes the flowers are in bloom, in fact it is also The Flower and Garden Festival during that time in May at EPCOT. If you love flowers and gardens they have many great exhibits and lectures to educate you. They also have the Flower Power concert series that takes place there with some great older bands.....Davey Jones, Paul Revere &Raiders etc. The weather at the beginning of the month is more enjoyable as the later it gets the hotter and more humid it gets. The crowds are also very moderate. It's a wonderful time of the year down here.

keiki, binky&mouse my 3 beautiful white kitties!

We went in May '03 and LOVED it !! We went the second week and even though it was unusually hot (95), the lack of huge crowds was great! We'll be there next May - either the first or third week, whichever DD's teacher thinks would be best to miss.

The flowers were beautiful in April this year when we were there, so May will be no problem.

It was starting to get pretty hot and humid by the last week of April...so I imagine May is pretty hot.

But it must be better than the summer months and at least you have the gorgeous landscaping that you missed on your winter trip.

Yep, it can be warm, but the crowds are not as heavy as June, July and August!

we went for a long weekend around Mother's Day in 2003, and it was very hot -but in a good way- and the crowds were manageable. We had also gone about a week later back in 1997, and the crowds were great (as in low) and that was before AK!

We have been in May the past 2 years. I love going in May. Low crowds, but it feels like a summer vacation. Our first time going in May the weather was awesome!!! Never rained and the temps were very comfortable. It was a little warmer last year, but still a great trip. I missed going this past May. I had to take a year off for a trip to California. I have also been in Feburary and December. May is my favorite time as far as weather goes. We went the last week BEFORE Memorial Day. Next year we are gonna go for 3 days cruise for 4 nights and then stay again at Disney for 4 days. I can't wait to ge back down there for the Flower and Garden show at EPCOT. You will have a blast!!! Enjoy!!:)

We went on both sides of Memorial day this year. Left the Thursday before Memorial Day. My DS15 and I returned on the Wednesday after Memorial Day. My DW, DD, DSIL, and DS5 returned the next day.

I echo the prevous posters' comments about Epcot. Everything is very pretty.

Also, and I don't if this is an annual event, but weekends in May at MGM are Star Wars weekends. Even if you're not a big Star Wars fan, its a lot of fun. Lots of really strange looking characters - other than the regular tourists, I mean!:p

I think Memorial day weekend is the annual period for Gay Days. As a result, we didn't go to MK on the Saturday of that weekend.

We did e-ride night on the day after Memorial Day. Now, that was awesome!
:earseek:

The only really bad dad we had was at AK on Memorial Day. Hot and extremely crowded.

It was hot, but not too bad. But, then I was raised in the south...

If you can, though, go earlier in May. While the crowds and heat were manageable, I imagine its even better earlier in the month.

We went this year the first week of May and we loved it. The weather wasn't too hot and the crowds were small. The Flower and Garden show was great.

Flower and Garden show, Oooooooo :smooth: I looooove flowers, it sounds like the prime to go, I'm starting to wonder why we didn't go in May instead this year. Oh well, it was still a good trip, just a little too cold for my likings. We get enough cold here and when you're on holidays you want it to be warm out. You guys are awesome, thank-you so much for your replies, that helps immensely!
