Just a quick update: Finals went very, very well. I ended up making the Dean's List for the first time with a semester GPA of 3.74.
I'm taking summer classes and so I will be getting a nice financial aid refund for summer classes alone, and that will pay for the rest of our trip. The rest of our room payment is due in early June, and then I need to buy our park tickets and MNSSHP tickets. Dates for the party have been released and October 10th is indeed a party date.
There's really not too much more to plan for the October trip, at least until the F&WF menus are released! But starting on Tuesday, I plan to do a brief recap of last May's trip, since it will be exactly a year ago! Crazy-it feels like it was yesterday!
For our January grad school scouting trip, I plan to fly Southwest, but I'll check other airlines too. Delta, American and US are the only ones that fly into Gainesville, so we will probably just end up flying into Jacksonville and driving the 70 miles to Gainesville. We plan to do University of Florida, University of South Florida, and then visit WWoHP.
OK, I was just pricing Orlando area hotels for the January trip. The onsite Universal hotels are just too expensive, and even the offsite ones are a little pricey! So here are some options (prices are total for two nights, including tax, if necessary):
Pop Century: $184.50 (we could get a AAA discount on this)
AKV-Value Studio at Jambo House: $180
AKV-Standard View Studio at Kidani: $220
OKW or BWV-Standard View Studio: $200
(Renting DVC points for these, of course)
Which would you choose?
