"Going to Disney for the weekend, BRB!" October 2011 PTR-Update 10/6-ONE DAY!!!!!

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

I will be there very soon myself! I'll be taking LOTS of pictures of both our Studio room and the resort itself, I plan to do a photo video tour.

We are really looking forward to trying this resort. The only thing I wish was that our plans could include more eating at DTD since we'll be so close, but it just doesn't work out. Who knows, maybe those plans will go out the window and we'll be at DTD all the time.

I was really confused by this, for some reason I had it in my head that you would be staying only at Pop & YC, then I saw on FB that you are actually there *right* now. So I went back to your TR, and saw that, sure enough, you are staying at OKW for a few days! Can't wait to see your videos and pictures when you return. :goodvibes

I knew the answer to which resort you're staying at for the grad school visit! I remember seeing that on your facebook! haha You will love OKW!

Haha I thought you might have!

Hi everyone! I realize I haven't posted here in almost a month. :scared1: I've been really busy with work, but that's over as of yesterday. My computer is on the verge of death, so in organizing everything to transfer to the new computer, I deleted a lot of pics from Picasa, so a lot of the pics that were on here are missing. I go back to school on Wednesday, and pretty much everything for the townhouse has been purchased, including my Mickey shower curtain, so I'll post pics of that when it's up and ready. I got an A in both of my summer classes. :thumbsup2

So, for some Disney updates. I *finally* purchased our park tickets the other day. I'm picking them up will-call, but don't know if I can get them from the lobby concierge or if I have to actually go to a theme park, as that's what seems to be indicated. Anyone know?

I also made our countdown calendar the other day using the infamous Home Depot paint chips. It officially starts September 2nd at 35 days, so I'll take a picture and post it here around then. We're getting so close now! 48 days according to disneyworld.com.

OK, so now the briefing on our day 5 plans.

Day 5
After a late night at MNSSHP, we will wake up and have breakfast at Cape May Cafe at 9:45am. After breakfast we will finish packing and do the airline check in for our luggage.

The plan for today is Downtown Disney, and we should be able to spend 2-3 hours there. We have a few places we definitely want to visit.

I want to start collecting ornaments for my little 3 foot Christmas tree.

For any last minute souvenirs we couldn't find elsewhere.

I love these!

for dinner to take home with us.

Our flight leaves Orlando at 7:15, so I imagine our ME pickup will be around 4pm or so. If we are hungry, we can grab something quick from the BC Marketplace.

So there you go, our plans for the trip! Not much else to post, but I'll do my best over the next several weeks.

I'm trying to remember what we did in March. My sister had purchased a new ticket right before we left and was going to do will call. I'm pretty sure she was able to get it at the front desk at OKW. You can always try at the resort and if worst comes to worst, you'd just have to do it at the parks. It's always nicer though to have it ahead of time so it's one less thing to worry about.

Yes, I was in Pop, Yacht Club and OKW this past week!  It was busy - but awesome! I have lots of pics that I plan to at least get up on Facebook soon.

Your Day 5 plans look like a great way to wrap up a Disney trip! Relaxing and enjoying. :thumbsup2 And Earl....oh Earl.

According the October Facebook group, I do have to pick them up at an actual theme park. No big deal, we'll just make a detour to International Gateway during our evening exploration of YC/BC/BW.

I saw your updates on Facebook-looked like you had a lot of fun! I can already tell our trip is going to be simultaneously busy but relaxing, if that makes sense.

I've been back at school for a week and a half! Loving the new computer, my house, my classes, etc. Here are some pics of my bedroom and bathroom.

That might be the worst view I've ever had here, including the giant tree freshman year and the side of the building next door last year.

Our official countdown starts today, and I just crossed off day 35!

:thumbsup2 It's getting so close!

ETA: Mom called a little while ago to say that our ME stuff arrived today! :woohoo:

Your house looks great!! Bummer of a view....but at least it doesn't include a dumpster! ;)

The days are flying by now...how many do you have left?

Love your bedroom with all the Disney and Harry Potter stuff. :thumbsup2

Yay for getting your ME stuff!

Thanks! Well, it sort of is...I think there's probably a dumpster up in the construction area :rotfl:

And we are at 27 days!

Yay for getting your ME stuff!

Thanks! And yes, we were very excited!

Sorry I left you all here for almost a month! We are now down to 12 days! I'm working on the to-do list now, and also finalizing our touring plans.

To Do
October 6th: Check in for flights (6am :headache:)/Print boarding passes
-Put money in vacation account
-Put sunscreen/lotion/contact solution in appropriate sized containers in 1 qt. bag
-PACK!!
-Finalize food budget

Things to Not Forget
-Camera!/Memory Cards/Computer Cord
-Hotel/Ticket/Dining Confirmations
-MNSSHP Tickets
-Boarding passes/IDs
-Meds
-iPod/Computer/Phone/Chargers

I've arranged to take a final early, since I'm supposed to take it the day after we come back. No good since I won't have time to study that weekend and there's no guarantee I'll be back in time for the class anyway.

Souvenirs I'd Like to Buy
-Dooney & Bourke Wristlet (torn between the classic white sketch, a colored sketch, or the 40th anniversary pattern)
-2011 hoodie
-2011 picture frame
-Autograph Book
-Photo album (2011 or 4 Parks 1 World)
-Mickey Star Ring (to go on my right hand, my initial Mickey is on my left :rolleyes1)
-Christmas ornament from Disney Days of Christmas

What else is there to do that I'm forgetting?!

WE LEAVE IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS!!!

I checked us in for the flight at 6am and we have boarding positions A55 & A56. Pretty good, but low in the A group.

I also completed online check in yesterday after debating back on forth. In my perfect world, we'd be able to get a top floor Epcot view room, not handicapped. In reality, we'll settle for the top floor.

I'm almost all packed, my house is clean (just need to vacuum my bedroom), ticket confirmations, touring plans, itineraries have all been printed. I'm going to stop at Starbucks before leaving school to get breakfast for tomorrow.

I will be doing live updates at least via Facebook. Even if we don't end up with free DVC internet again, mom needs it to do schoolwork, so we'll pa for it.

We are back! We had a great time. Dining reviews are linked in my sig, and I'm starting the Trip Report at any moment now, so the link for that will be there as well.
