Am going to be at the cr in sept for two Weeks. Any tips and advice? Trip is coming close...exciting!

I would recommend checking out the CR/BLT thread for starters. There is lots of information there about the resort. For us, the best part of CR (aside from the excitement of staying in one of the original resorts directly on the monorail line) in being able to walk to and from MK. Walking to MK is always faster than taking the monorail, although if there isn't much of a line it is faster to take the monorail back. We still generally prefer the walk. We have picked up basic grocery items in the little store on the concourse, son loved the arcade, we enjoyed our meal and the view of Wishes from California Grill (although some dishes were extremely salty - I assume this is not typical and we plan to return after the renovation). We have taken advantage of sea raycers in the area, though from the Polynesian. It is fun to ride around the lagoon and get a different view of MK. You can also pretty easily visit FW and WL from the CR, although I have not and don't know much about what to do there, other than carriage rides and the Chip and Dale sing along. On room requests, some folks don't like to be near Chef Mickey's because of noise. We stayed in the tower near the elevators (so about midway) and on a relatively low floor, and the noise did not bother us from that location. Enjoy reading through that thread, and hope you get some helpful suggestions!

My biggest tip about CR, and what really made the whole stay worthwhile for our family, was having the MK view from our room. I can't even explain how wonderful it was. Being able to sit on our balcony, or lay in our beds, and watch the castle change colors. So magical! :goodvibes We were there in October 2008 and they were testing out the castle dream lights for the holidays and it was BREATHTAKING!!!!!!!!! :cloud9: I really can't express enough how great it was. Other tips would be definitely the walking path to MK, eating at Chef Mickey's, if your kids like to draw my youngest son enjoyed being the "artist of the day" down near the food court area. Here is my CR trip report if you want to see pics and stuff:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1986183

Have a great trip :thumbsup2

I'm staying at CR for the first time in October. I'm looking forward to being able to walk to the MK and trying the Contempo Cafe for the cupcakes that get rave reviews. I booked a MK view so I'm hoping that will make the trip extra special as well!

Do any of you know if early check increases the chance of getting special requests (such as king room) granted? Thanks for the help.

well it definitely works for views - not sure about something like king beds which they have a limited number of and though you could paid extra for a king bed and have it guaranteed?
