I know I shouldnt really post here, but you guys are superb in advice. :goodvibes
I am hoping you could help me and my ever increasing dilema,in ever decreasing time.

Ashleigh is only 4months old and is bottle fed.
I have been told numerous of ways to feed/sterilise bottles.
I have opted for the microwavable route as we are in an apartment,so thats the bottles taken care of
But it is feeding, can you take tinned milk? on the plane? also what water is suitable? I just am abit nervous and not sure what to do?
Any advise would be grateful :)

I am sure you can take it as long as it is sealed.....but I could be wrong.

Can't offer any help ~ Just wanted to say I hope you all have a fantastic time.

You can take tinned milk not sure about the water though. Why not ask your health visitor. Have a great time!!!

You can take tinned milk so long as it is unopened but you can also buy the feed already made up in little cartons and then you don't have to bother about the water or the plavver of mixing etc (this is what I took what seems like a long time ago ;) ). If not then I would use the tap water as you would be boiling it up anyway as you would at home.

Have a great holiday

I recently came back from my holiday and on the plane there was a baby very close to us. The air hostess' were fantastic and I saw them heating up the bottle for the baby. I did see the Mum put some powdered milk into the bottle first so I am sure that you can take it on the plane.
You could also check with the tour operator or airline, they arevery good and will have all the info you need.
As for water I would always use bottled, i know that you will be boiling it but it is better to be safe than sorry.
I hope you all have a fantastic holiday :Pinkbounc

another vote for the ready made formula! Its a pain to take it out, but at least you know that you will have no problems with the water. Also make doubley sure that the apartment has a microwave. I know people who have been caught out by that! To be honest when i went on hols, I just boiled the bottles to within an inch of their lives..

have fun!!

I am sure I will have loads of questions like this next year prior to our first plane trip with BabyUK :)

Beth - we are due to go to Portugal in May next year and I think I will be taking the ready made stuff with me - mainly b/c it doesn't have to be kept refridgerated as I don't know if our hotel will have fridges for hire.

Have a great holiday!

I have taken powdered milk with no probs, but this was 2 years ago.

As regards which water to use, best advice is to check with your Health visitor. We were told that bottled water still had to be boiled, but to check the labels on the bottled water carefully, coz the sodium content is not supposed to be above a certain level - sorry can't remember the level! I also washed and sterilised everything in boiled bottled water - call me over-cautious!

Saying all that I would personally try to take the ready cartons, so much easier - just take less clothes!

Have a great time!

And think what you can buy to bring home to fill up the space..... ;)

Wow thank you everyone :goodvibes
I have bought the sterilising bags today have asked the owner of the apartment and yep we have a microwave :)
Have opted for the pre made milk, no worries then, have bought a tin of milk just in case, and the powder dispenser tubs so I can add milk on demand!
Its all mind boggling, cant wait to get there now,all this commotion is tiring.
All I need to do now is pack and call in a charter private plane :rotfl: For all the stuff babbette is taking ;)

Thanx everyone :)
