We're going the last week of November, first week of December and I don't know what to pack to wear! We're going for a week.

Will I be okay wearing capris and slip on shoes (closed toe, no socks) - or will I freeze at night?

We will likely be going back to the room during the day for DS1 nap BUT in case we don't I'd like to wear in the a.m. something that will get me thru the evening.....

I know weather can be from 40-80.... but I am trying to pack and am so stuck! :smooth:

I'm in the same boat!! I'm packing a little of everything!! From shorts to jeans. I'm also bringing sweatshirts to stick in a locker..and little black stretch gloves for the kids. Better safe then sorry. We're going to MVMCP and I've read it can get quite cold. Hopefully someone will help you with your question. I know I'd like to read the reply.

THis is a very tricky time to goto Disney. I went last year and felt comfy most of the time. During CP, my fiance was chilly due to breeze blowing in from the lake.

I am packing for 5 days:

3 shorts
3 pants(2 jean, 1 windbreaker type)
a light jacket
1 sweatshirt
regular short sleeve shirts
and the rest

I am usually warm, faince is cold. Last year she bought a sweatshirt, and with my light jacket she was ok.

Plan on 65-75 during the day, 45-55 at night..

I hope this helps.

We're leaving this Saturday with our 2 boys, 3 & 1. I'm planning on all of us wearing pants with short-sleeved shirts, and putting jackets on over the shirts. That way we can take the jackets off if we get too hot. I think even if the temps get into the 70's, we won't be too warm in t-shirts with pants/jeans.

Of course, we'll have strollers to stick the jackets in, so I'm not sure what we'd do if we didn't have that.

HTH,

Ashley

Well, it seems you know what the weather will be and how you should pack, you just don't like the answer ;).

:cold: :sunny: :cold:

One word: Layers.

When you head out in the am it will be cool. Those capris will be fine and you could even get away with shorts on a nice day, and a short sleeve shirt or light weight long sleeve shirt would be in order. That being said, you'll probably want to have a sweater or sweatshirt with you. In a few hours you'll shed that top layer and be comfortable. Those slip on shoes will be fine for the day. Don't forget those bathing suits. Mid 70's and sunny makes for good swimming.

Then comes the evening/nightime. You'll be looking at low to mid 50's, which isn't too cold, but without the sun if will feel downright chilly......especially while you are just sitting watching the Candlelight Processional or waiting for a parade, or enjoying yourself late at MVMCP or late Extra Magic Hours. At a minimum you'll need that top layer you shed earlier in the day. Oh, and those toes might get a little cold at this point, too.....so socks and sneakers might be good to have. If you aren't one who tolerates the cold well you might even need a lightweight jacket.......or more. Being that we are from the northeast we always have to leave for the airport with our winter jackets and there have even been some evenings we've made use of those. Fortunately this year there are no low 40's in the forecast, but you know how forecasts can change. :sunny: :umbrella: :cold: :sunny:

So, I've told you everything you DON'T want to hear ;). You need everything from bathings suits, t-shirts and sandles to jeans, sneakers and a jacket. Then, after having no choice but to bring all that you won't use half of it. Of course, if you don't bring it you'll need it.

Those are the trials and tribulations of the first week of December. Oh, we've been to WDW the week after Thanksgiving for the last four years and we'll be there a week from tomorrow.

I watch the weather right up until the night before so I don't do too much overpacking.

One year it was freezing and the next it was hot. I was all set to pack a bunch of winter clothes when I saw the weather that last day before we left so I ended up only packing 2 pants and one long sleeve shirt and a sweatshirt. Worked out great.

I'm going this same time again and so far I'm packing mostly summer clothes and wearing our winter clothes from up here in Boston but I'll check the weather on my last day here and pack accordingly.

It's so hard not to over pack going in December!

We went this time of year the last couple of years and are this year as well. One thing I have found that works well are long sleeve t-shirts....you can go sleeves down in the cool mornings....push the sleeves up when it warms up and at night if it cools off again....slide the sleeves back down. Not much of a tip, but it always works well for me. :wave2:

No matter what I pack, it's always wrong. So far, we've never had a cold day at WDW. However, we had a very cold day at DL and we all were so cold there in June a couple of years ago with our summer clothes on. I'm planning on bringing everything: jeans, capris, shorts, tshirts, sweatshirts, gloves, bathing suits.

Check out accuweather.com. They have a 15 day forecast. For me, if it's lower than 68 at night, then I need a light sweatshirt/jacket. Above 68 at night, then I can just get away with my shorts and tanks. I think I've needed a sweathshirt at night just one night at WDW. But I think I've been lucky with the hot weather in December & January.

Since you're going with your young child, throw sweatshirts in the stroller for everyone. You'll have them if you need them and you won't waste time running back to the resort for them (or buying them at the parks).

I know.... I know.... I do know what temps we might have. We live in Montreal, so we do know cold. We also know hot and super humid.

My trouble lies in my baggage allowance. Without our knowledge, we've been booked on a charter which really restricts our luggage. Top it off with DS1 who will be on our laps therefore not a flight ticket purchase, we don't have an allowance for him.

Seems that the total weight I can bring comes down to 30 lbs per person. Factor in the weight of the luggage, and well, it kinda restricts my clothing. So, that means that I absolutely HAVE to pack light and carefully - this is what is really stressing me out!!!!!! 30 lbs with the weight of a piece of luggage which is around 12 lbs minimum, allows me only 18 lbs of clothes, toiletries, whatnot. We're now looking into using duffle bags instead as they don't weigh much.

So I guess if I bring capris and jeans/pants, t-shirts, long sleeves, sweater I should be okay.....?

Figure I can put the kids in pants and a t-shirt during the day and sweater for at night - they are easier to pack for :-)

Then, after having no choice but to bring all that you won't use half of it. Of course, if you don't bring it you'll need it.

:rotfl2: Isn't that the truth...We'll be there the same week. I'm going pack it all...because just like you said, if you don't you will need it. :rotfl:

See you there---Wilderness Lodge 11 DAYS :cheer2:

I'm flying down on Nov 29.....I've been at this time of year twice now. In '03 it was freezing, last year it was actually quite nice. I fly down in my jeans, a long sleeved tee shirt, sweatshirt and a windbreaker. That way I don't take up room in my luggage with the heavier clothes and since it can get chilly on the plane, I'm prepared. Then, once in WDW.....during the day I am usually in a tee-shirt (either long or short sleeved depending on the weather), shorts with a sweatshirt. Then if it gets hot, I take off the sweatshirt and just tie it around my waist. At night, I wear pretty much the same thing, unless it gets really chilly. Then the jeans come out. I'm planning on wearing just my Crocs, no socks. But I will take a pair or two just in case.
Even when it was chilly, and the 'natives' were wearing jackets, gloves and scarves, I was fine with my shorts and long sleeved tee. It's at night that you might get chilly and want long pants.
