If we wanted to go into San Angel Inn just for a margarita can we do that or would we end up needing to eat there/wait for a table?

There's a margarita stand outside the pavilion. You don't even have to go inside.

Yes right across from the pyramid at Mexico, in fact there are 2 rita stands the 1 across from the Pyramid has nachos and apps and the one beside the pyramid has different flavored ritas!
