Going back to both worlds!! Disney & Volunteering at GKTW!! ITS HERE!! 5/31

:surfweb: I sure have alot to catch up on. Our Kitchen flooded a bit last week and we had to tear up the flooring to see how bad it was. Luckily someone on Disboutique suggested our homeowners.... We had drying equipment in here for 4 days and they finally are done with that part today.. and I have my computer back. (kitchen and family room are connected it was too hot and nosiy):scared1:

Allison also tried to do blankets for Haiti, but we had problems with my moms serger so we will have to rip the stitching out and start fresh. :confused3

Working on Allison's bag now and then Skye, Brian, Jonathon and Christophers. Wish me luck!!

sorry about the flooding, what a pain and mess for you to deal with!

Allison looks like she is enjoying making the blankets...so sweet of her to want to help us out :goodvibes hope she is feeling better!

Jake's bag turned out great!

Thank you and I hope yours was fantastic!

Thank you, it has been a mess. I am quite glad the noise is gone and the temperature in the side of the house is back to normal. We get our insurance quote on Thursday since our flooring needs to be analyzed.

Allison LOVED making the blankets and wants to know if you need more. She is so frustrated with the serger. It was beautiful for the firs 6 inches or so and then got all wonky. I don't have a serger, only managed to thread my moms since she couldn't remember how. But beyond that... I was lost. SInce she doesn't live here, she didn't have access to her instruction manual and they aren't online. Oh well... We will figure out something. Even if mom fixes the problem and brings it back down for Jonathons graduation in 2 weeks. :wizard: She is feeling MUCH better. Not quite up to par, but definetly getting closer!! She will start physical therapy friday. She can't wait.

I managed to get Allison's bag almost completed. I have to go back in and hand stitch the opening on the bottom I had to leave open to pull everything through. She loved it! Thank goodness. I did it to cheer her up since she has a big test tomorrow:goodvibes!

hope the insurance will cover all the repairs!
no help on the sewing machine, I don't sew...my blankets will be cut in strips around the edges....thanks for the offer of more blankets, we are going to hold off on more for now since we met our goal....I'm sure there will be other projects in the future, so stay tuned! and many thanks again for helping out to make these for the kids, know they will LOVE THEM!!!

so happy Alli is feeling better and she is looking forward to her PT soon! good luck to her on the test!

her tink bag is so cute, love the fabrics!!!

Love the bags you posted. Feel so bad for you about the flooding. That has to be the worst thing to deal with. We just finished fixing water damage to one of the walls in our motorhome and the dryer running in there drove me nuts when I was in it. I can't imagine having to live with that noise in my house for as long as you did! Glad to hear that Allison is feeling better. :goodvibes

Got Brian's bag done while Christopher is napping. Not as pleased with his...but it's ok. I tried to do the boys as normal things so they would use them even after Disney. I have Jonathon and Christophers to do. Hope to get another one done while he is still asleep. We shall see!!

QUESTIONS

Anything we should add, change, don't do??? I am getting down to the wire!! HELP!:scared:;) I am going to go crazy:crazy:

THinking about wearing a shirt saying thank you or GKTW rocks when we go back to volunteer... want thoughts or suggestions how to do it!!

I love your bags. I really haven't sewn in a long time but was thinking of trying my hand at it again! What pattern did you use and are they difficult? Your trip plan sounds great!

The bags are great! Your kitchen not so great!!! Hope you got what you needed from your homeowners and can get things back in order. It has to be murder not having a working sink in the kitchen. I just picture poor Allison having to go to the bathroom to get her water for her ramen :lmao:

Today I am going to work on laundry (I got behind last week since I worked so much), we are going to spend one to two hours cleaning the garage -- we're just going to break it up into sections, and I'm going to try to make two more sets of pillow cases for GKTW and then work on what I signed up for with the latest BG (I already started last night b/c I am using some things from my stash). I may even go get shirts today and do those if Heather gets the files I need to me. I also want to go grocery shopping but that means I need to go right now and I can't even get dressed b/s I have a dog sitting on my lap and I don't want to make her move. If I shop today we can sew tomorrow! If not I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow morning. I will keep you posted.

The only thing that concerns me with your schedule is doing AK and Epcot in the same day -- I only say this b/c we didn't get to spend enough time at either place.

Thank you! This is my FAVORITE NO pattern, just a tutorial. Good luck.. want to see yours once you make one!

I laughed out loud!!:rotfl2: Unfortunately, she hasn't had any in a week. Although thats a good sign in her illness factor!!

GET UP LAZY DOGGIE!!!! :rolleyes1I NEED Andrea to go grocery shopping today...so I can get my Andrea sewing fix I haven't gotten in FOREVER!;)

We have the extra day. I really hope that Julie can visit us. I miss her terribly, and 18-20 hour car rides don't make for frequent visits. I would like to spend more time at Epcot this time. I am basing it on Allison's wish trip, when we only got 3 days:hourglass. I need to remember that we do have an extra day!!

love all the bags you did a great job!

for the gktw shirts how about some vinyl...created something on the computer and print it off....check out the DISigners page too, or maybe one of the other DISBoutiquers will have some suggestions!

I would definately spend the extra day at Epcot...that's easily a 2-3 day park for us, we LOVE IT!

I really am a little computer handicapped! How do I find the tutorial for the bags. Yours are wonderful!

Sorry...click on the word favorite in my other reply. I am on my phone and can't do a link. If I see later you couldn't do it I will do it again for you! Also, I use didn't sizes...just from playing around.

:wave2: Followed your over from the DISboutique thread.

Looks like we might be down there around the same time. We head down on Thursday June 21st

GET UP LAZY DOGGIE!!!! I NEED Andrea to go grocery shopping today...so I can get my Andrea sewing fix I haven't gotten in FOREVER!

That cracked me up! Did y'all get to sew???? If I was the jealous kind, I would be jealous!

LOVED your bags you made, The kitchen flood...not at all! SO SORRY to read that, but excited to hear Allison is feeling a bit better. YEA!!! She needs strength for the trip! I am so impressed at your sewing skills!!!

Lazy Doggie got up! I went grocery shopping. And Amy came over yesterday. We only had a couple of hours and got done what she needed to do, though I feel like we did very little. Perhaps we talk more than we sew :confused3 She just needed names embroidered for bags for gifts. And she dropped off some t's that I will embroider for her (which I noticed she did not prewash :laundy:). No big deal -- I have plenty of laundry to do -- I have to post wash some BG items anyway to send.

And I am the jealous type. See that little ticker on your sig -- yep, I'm jealous!!!!

And I just thought I'd let all know I got woken at 5am by the opossum plucking on our door to the screened in porch, yet the trap remains empty (aside form the food for bait!). We'll never get rid of Blossom! She needs a new home and I only have the trap until Thursday (Animal Control loans the traps and relocates the critter for the you :) )
