Can't believe my baby willbe 2 next week!! I have made a combo birthday/disney outfit

Need help planning outfits/shirts for kids for the days we will be in Disney/Universal!! Any input welcome. I am making a Pirate outfit for Jonathon, Dumbo for Skye.

Dear Amy,

I have been checking as often as I can for an update, I have been so worried about Allison. I am so sorry to read my worries are confirmed and she has not been doing well at all. She is so strong and has to deal with so much and I am sorry! And here are a few for you as well, because it isn't easy for us Mama's either . I can say with all honesty I get it, unfortunately.

I AM thrilled/wishing it was me, that got to play with Andrea and get all of these incredible things made though! You have become quite the seamstress and the appliques are just the ice cream on top. You get to pick exactly what you want to have...how cool is that?!?!?!!!!! You deserve some fun/happiness! I hope that this weekend is calm, quiet and pain free!

Amy, I'm so glad you finally got an update on here.

I have to tell everyone that Alli is the sweetest girl and hides her pain very well. Amy is very humble too -- I didn't know how bad she's had it -- she never complains and just gets things done and makes it look easy. And I also need to tell everyone that while all this was going on my mom had surgery and Amy offered to watch my kids for me if need be!!!! Crazy woman!!!! Thankfully everything went well with my mom so I didn't need to take Amy up on her offer.

Amy is a great seamstress -- one day I teach her to make a pair of shorts and the next day she's putting zippers in items all on her own! Even I have yet to do a zipper!

And Lisa, I'm glad to see you confirmed that Amy is coming to Charlotte She can't get out of it now.

Grrrrrrr!!!!! Christopher's name looks crooked under the two! I don't remember it looking crooked -- is it the photo or is it really that bad?

Took me three days but I finally finished Christophers bowling shirt. I am overall pleased with it, but I DEFINETLY need practice with the button holes. I didn't wash it so the marks are still on it where the button holes were supposed to go... guess I placed them wrong.

Please be gentle.

Thank you Judy!! I am trying to keep up the best I can on here. Between dealing with Allison's home schooling, continuing to worsten, dance, the boys, sewing... and life in general I am having a difficult time. Glad you are sticking around. I wish LIsa didn't have to go through all with her PEG, that sucks!! HOpe thing are settling down some there! Hoping to come with Andrea!! SO much fun!

We didn't notice, but wanted to put your mind at ease and measured....you have a good eye! It's only 1mm difference!!!!

Ok, so I need some help planning my outfits/shirts.

We are going to one ADR. We will be going to Chef Mickey and I think planning to go to Magic Kingdom from there. (not sure if it's closer to go to another park) We will all be wearing red Mickey shirts with our names on them. (thanks to Andrea and her WONDERFUL appiqueing ability!!)

For Animal Kingdom I will be making a a pair of shorts for Christopher out of this...

I have seperate material to make a pocket, whether to applique or not.. I am not sure.

Nothing for Jonathon yet???

For Hollywood Studios (same shorts for Christopher, trying to find a shirt)

This is a pirate/peter pan outfit to be for Jonathon. The material for his shorts and a light brown shirt with Peter pan. Pockets with appliques as well

Of course Chrisopher will wear this as well.

I am going to do a Tink shirt for ALli and a dumbo shirt for Skye. Need help suggestions for epcot and things for my older kiddos to wear!! We will be spending 4 days in Disney!! So all four parks

We will spend 2 days in Universal as well. I would like shirts for all of us to wear to Harry Potter since we are all HP fans. Jonathon wants a spider man outfit for the other day...

No clue about Christopher though. Was thinking THING shirts. But I have a total of 5 kids going.....

For Christopher's AK shorts I think it might look too busy to applique on the pockets. If you do applique on them, I would keep it something simple. For a coordinating shirt you could do a Mickey head with either the animal print or stripe, or do one of Heather Sue's animals with the mickey ears (or without the Mickey ears if you want it to be more generic).

For Epcot some people do the ball with Mickey ears on it and others do county flags in Mickey heads. I think Heather may have an epcot logo too Someone has an adorable design with Mickey holding balloons with the flag colors in them -- it takes a long time to do the applique though so you may not want to do 8 of those! Are you wanting just the kids in the t's or adults as well?

I think the Thing t's would be adorable for a large family!

OK, if the Christopher birthday t is only off by 1mm then the photo makes it look worse -- phew! I was worried!

Haven't been around much as Allison has been continuing to not feel well. They have stopped her current treatments as it has been determined it has yet again failed. She is not eating and supposed to be on a pediasure liquid diet. (although I am not always able to get her to drink it all) IF all goes well with her testing in the next week, she will be able to start a new treatment by the end of next week. Please pray for Allison!! It's terrible to see how much pain she is in. Sorry I am not able to read as many threads as I would like, and certainly not replying like I want!! As things improve I will be responding more. I am around, I do read.... Just not able to reply!

Christopher is adorable in his birthday shirt! I hope you had a good day with him ~ I know it can be hard to celebrate when you have another child who is not doing well. I know it was also a little bittersweet for you with him turning two.

Does Alli dislike the taste of the pediasure or is that it's still painful to drink? Or is she just sick of having the same thing over and over? Does it come in ramen flavor? Couple her joint pain with poor nutrition and the poor thing has to be hurting. Did she make it to dance tonight? I wish all our wish kids on the Disboards could just be kids and live the lives kids are supposed to. It's so not fair. I hope once she gets on her new medication that she makes a turn around.

Hi, It's been an interesting few days. Allison had continued to go downhill quickly. Friday night she had the choice of being admitted to the hospital with a NasoGastric Tube (goes in the nose down the throat into the stomach) for feedings or she could increase her steroid, which she had been fighting. (she has been trying to wean off since September and has had to go back up 3 times this being her 4th) She finally agreed to increase it. So after her labs on saturday morning she took her meds and is doing much better today. She still isn't "eating" but she isn't in nearly as much pain and her intake is no longer non-existent!!!

Highlight of the weekend was Christopher's party.

This is Christopher and one of his cousins wearing Christophers outfit!! Camden loved it and wants one of his own!!

I plan to work on that this week. Allison will be back to the Dr this week 3 times before the end of Tuesday. Hopefully starting her new medication treatment Wednesday!!!

I'm so sorry Allison hasn't been doing well. Glad she avoided the hospital stay with an NG tube (yuck!) but sorry she had to increase the steroids she's been trying to wean off of. I just hope that if she persists with the pediasure that she will start to feel better.
