Hi,
I swore up and down that I wouldn't go back to Disney after the horrible time and all we had in Dec.
However my husband bought us tickets ( air) to go for our anniversary.. I guess I'm excited. I'm worried about the weather.
We are going July 31- August 5th.

Any suggestions what to do with out Kids.. I know I want to do the night life. Since we haven't been able to do that since my parents went down with us..

Our Anniversary is August 2nd.. any suggestions on where to eat and celebrate??

I'm also not looking forward to the heat!

Anyone else going that time frame??

Heat or not, I would be thrilled to be going to WDW for my anniversary!

Without your kids, the heat should be managable. You can duck into any shops or stop for a snack or cocktail for a little air conditioned refresher.

Spend time in the water at your resort and just PACE yourself.

As for the nightlife... I have only been with my kids but I have been dying to get to DD and Pleasure Island. If you are staying on site and not driving, check out the monorail resorts for cocktails and appetizers one night. That might be fun AND romantic.

As for dinner, check out the menus at Deb Will's site for what kind of food appeals to you. Then pick based on atmosphere and the menu. Artist Point at WL is romantic and Narcoosees is loud but a lovely dinner.

Enjoy your stay, adults only.

Happy Anniversary!

I am completely JEALOUS!! I wanted to go just DH and I in October for our Anniversary but he keeps saying "the money, the money" ;)

I think Narcoosees is a very nice place to have an Anniversary Dinner. We ate there once and really enjoyed it.

How cool it will be to be there without the kids . . .how very romantic! You'll be able to do whatever you want!

I don't know much about the nightlife . . .but maybe PI? If you like clubs and dancing and cocktails . . .

Have a GREAT time!:bounce:

You don't have to enjoy cocktails or dancing to enjoy Pleasure Island (although a cocktail or two could only help!) :D

Be sure you visit the Adventurer's Club at least once. And hang around for awhile. Some folks wander in and then wander out before knowing what's really going on. Make sure you stay for the club initiation and at least one or two shows in the library, treasure room and mask room. Great fun. (I'm guessing that you'll want to stay even longer than that!! )

And while you're at PI, you could also take in a show or two at the Comedy Warehouse. It's all Improv comedy, so even if you see more than one show the same evening, it will be different.

I would suggest staying on site and taking breaks during the, go back to the resort for a 'change of pace'. It does help. Even if you don't nap.

Pleasure Island is fun, so is the Boardwalk, and the parks are open later than in the winter.

Have a great time.

:D

Hi and Happy Anniversary!,
This is so cool, it will be our 30th Ann. in a couple of weeks and we are going to be at WDW (without kids) for it.

We are going to eat at CRT and hopefully get to see the fireworks from the castle.

We are also going on a carriage ride at FW before dinner with a little bottle of champaine.

For lunch we are going to go to Garden Grill at Epcot and do the rehitchin ceremony.

We have alot of things planned for the week we will be there. The boardwalk sounds great with ADC and Jellyrolls.
I love the R&C. The bartenders are alot of fun.

I Hope you have a great trip.
I know I am really looking forward to mine.
Next year we take the grandkids and I know that will be nice too, just less relaxed.

We had 1 day/night in WDW without our kids last year. We went to Jellyrolls at the BW and had a ball. I would definitely go back there again.

we're going to be there the same time (7/31-8/4) but we are going with one child (it will feel great to us because we are used to 2 children and my older daugter is VERY high maintenance) I have never been without kids so night life is kinda out for us. Maybe I can convince hubby to go down for our anniversary around labor day. Have fun!

It just makes me smile - our first trip to WDW was in '88 and still childless! We were so clueless as to touring plans, etc., and spent so much time drinking:rolleyes:

I too would like to experience it again as a couple (I'm sure we've slowed down a bit in the party area!;) ). We did the 4-day Disney cruise this past March, which was our first vacation without kids in 13 years. I think we've had a taste and know that our girls are big enough for us to start doing these things again!

HAVE SO MUCH FUN - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Natt
