Well, dh and I had a blast alone :love2: (went for 5 days last week). However, on our second day there, while hanging out in the pool, we realized how much we wanted to bring our youngest two back again soon. Soooo, decided we should surprise them at Christmas and plan to return the very end of Feb - not pres. week, the week after, for 10 days. How is the weather? Any chance anything new will be going on then? When is Exp. Everest supposed to open? Any tips would be great - we've been in April, May, Nov. and Dec. so far. We won't do summer (well, not unless we won a free trip or something!)
Can't wait!

We went Feb 2005, and the weather was fine. If you avoid Pres. week, you should be good. However, Mardi Gras always plays some kind of factor, and MG day is Tue Feb 28. I would imagine the weekend before, which is when we are going, will be crowded. It's all relative, though, as my last "peak" trip in July/Aug 2003 was a nightmare with crowds, and will never do that again. We are probably going to stick to this time of year, as the weather is nice, the crowds keep the parks open longer (11pm on Saturday 2/25), but are not "sardine packed".

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Exp Everest would be in early, early opening, but I doubt it. Supposedly, it's opening in early April.

We went early March this year and the weather was much cooler than the yearly average.
It was quite cold most mornings and often did not reach 70 degrees.

I think predicting the weather February/March is very difficult but you cannot guarantee nice hot temps.

Not aware of any new attractions but crowds generally should be fairly light.

In looking at my various WDW 'planning' books it seems like Dec and Feb are kind of similar in terms of # of cool days, amt. of rain, etc. We went in Dec. a few years ago and were a little disappointed in the temps - though it certainly didn't ruin our trip. Keeping in mind that we are from NY...we were able to swim while all the lifeguards at the pool were in their windsuits and winter hats/mittens! LOL! I think we are more likely to be bothered by it being too hot.
I would so love it if Exp. Everest was doing soft openings then...but I doubt it, too. We will have been to WDW 3x during the construction of that attraction - and it may end up being a long while before we go back after this next trip. The kids being older makes it harder for them to get away with school/sports/etc.

We go every Jan/Feb. In 2004 it was sooo hot and apparently broke records for that time of year. This year it was pleasant in the day (warm enough to do the water parks) but it got really cold at night. We just made sure we took a jacket/sweater for the night but we still got away with shorts!!! No rain at all!!!!

The best bit is no waiting for the rides!!!!!

Have fun !!!!!!!

Weather is very hard to predict this time of year. I have been in shorts and half dead on the sidewalk because it was so hot. There was also a year that it was so cold out that Thunder Mountain was closed because they were nervous that the air brake systems set through the ride would not function properlly.

We went February 26-March 4 of this year and we loved it. It was cool in the mornings but by mid-day we took off our sweatshirts. We were never hot at all.

The parks were not very crowded. It did rain more than when we have gone in May and October, but not too much.

We went back in October and DH and I were commenting on how much more energy we had when we went in February. I think it's because the heat doesn't suck the life out of you.

I highly recommend February.

Many, many thanks for all the encouraging words about a Feb. visit!
