I booked the Poly for August  using that Labor Day sale. Not my first choice to go when it is hotter than the sun's surface but oh well :) Thanks to everyone who helped me!

Now I am thinking of ADR's. Here is my background info and gobs of questions.

- I am going in August with DD. It will either be:
> Just DD and I
> DD, myself and DH for the last two days (but we won't be able to confirm until last minute)
>DD, myself, my sister and her two kids
Yes...I love torturing myself :rolleyes2

- I probably won't know what exact days we are going for another month or so. ADR's are 180 days before correct?

- I will not have the option of the DDP

Questions:
1. Can you schedule a reservation for 5 and drop it down to 3...or 2? Or do you have to cancel the whole thing?

2. I want our first day/night to be exploring the Poly (can't believe we are staying there!). Should I book the Spirit of Aloha? My dd loves anything theatrical and has an amazing palate for a 9 year old. She would also like to drink out of a pineapple :) Is this worth the price and do I have to pay for it all up front? Is it something I can cancel?

3. I would like to schedule one Character Dining experience but don't want to commit to any park other than MK or a resort on the monorail - breakfast preferably but dinner would work too. What would you suggest? She loves princesses, she isn't over the moon about them anymore, but she would enjoy the experience and would love to get pics/autographs. She would also like Mickey/Minnie/Goofy/ etc.

4. I plan to try to get BOG for lunch one day using a FP. Is lunch worth it or should I go all out and try to book dinner?

Other than that I plan on quick bits, counter service and maybe even some food we bring with us. She is a great eater but not a big eater.

Any suggestions would be welcome!!!

yes 180 days from check in date you can book for the entire stay.

1. Yes...I booked for 4, dropped to three, then one day only had 2 show up to eat...no issues

2. I believe you do have to pay up front...haven't done it but want to one day

3. I would suggest Chef Mickey...and since at Poly you should also consider Ohana for breakfast.

4. never booked one, as we had a dinner there so can't offer any suggestions on that, got the offer, just figured I'd let others use that slot.

I was thinking Chef Mickey. The Contemporary would be fun to check out anyway. Good to know we can reserve for 5 and drop it to 2. I would hate to do it, but 180 days is so far in advance!
