That is too funny! If Rob says a drink is strong, I know it's strong! You would never know from the pretty picture in the menu how crazy strong it is. At least it sounds like you had some fun with the drink!
I'm glad you enjoyed SAI too! You really can't beat the atmosphere there. I really want to try breakfast at CG too. In fact, I don't know why the heck we didn't go this time. What was I thinking?
Okay...you had me with the pictures of "Gnocchi Sea Gnocchi Do" at Raglan Road. I immediately put that one on my list. In fact, it's going to be dinner our first night. Now I see your pictures/reviews Captain's Grille. I have 3 weeks until I can make my ADRs (yes I am counting down). I thought I had everything picked out. Now, I am thinking of changing my Trail's End to Captain's Grille. It looks really good.
You've had both, which do you prefer (for dinner)? We are going to TE for breakfast. My husband saw the picture of the pulled pork eggs benedict and said we had to eat there. We are staying in the cabins, so I will be close.
We have 1 TS left. If you think something else is better than TE or Captain's Grille, please tell me. Right now we are eating at: Raglan Road, Boma, Teppan Edo, Be Our Guest (dinner), and 'Ohana. Suggestions for a non park dinner?
The Gnocchi Sea Gnocchi Do was so amazing! I hope you do get to try it! I didn't get to have TE for dinner, but CG was definitely a standout for us. If you're doing TE for breakfast then CG might be the way to go for dinner. I really want to try TE for dinner next time, but I'm not sure if we can fit it in.
I think you have a great lineup there! I have never done Teppan Edo and while I didn't care for BOG I think dinner looks more appealing to me. Not sure if there are any 1 TS credit non-park restaurants that top CG for me.
I'm getting caught up Jeri.... I've missed a few meals, snacks, and food booth items! You had the ultimate Disney dining trip! I want to be you with a 17 day Disney trip during F&W!!
We unexpectedly loved SAI last August. It didn't hurt that we had that lovely seat next to the water and that we had a very sweet server. I thought the food wasn't that spicy but it wasn't bad. Glad you liked it as well.
Those eyes at night on the clown slide... creepy!
Captain's Grille being a surprise hit was great. And a top 5 for Rob. That's an impressive meal. We've had breakfast there many times which I love but dinner there twice and it was just ok. Maybe I have not ordered the few amazing dishes yet. We'll just say it's me!
Still following along albeit while catching up.
I don't know how I am ever going to top this trip. 17 days in WDW spoiled me for life!
I'm glad you enjoyed SAI too. We really enjoy our meals there. Although we may have to skip it next time. Too many great places, so little time!
I really want to try CG for breakfast. We should have eaten there this time while we were staying close by. Their buffet looks delicious!
I spent the weekend reading your report and I have really enjoyed it!! I am currently "planning" a relaxed, laid back trip for DH and I next month. I am hoping to try many new places (that we can hopefully just get seated as a walk up with ADRs) so your report has given me many new ideas.
17 days...amazing!!
Thanks so much for reading along! I hope you and your DH get the relaxing trip you want. Not having reservations only backfired on us a few times, but it usually worked out better in the end. That's the only way we found B&C and Captain's Grille. Usually the laid back trips are the most fun. Hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming trip!
Those tacos at San Angel look fantastic! And omggg, I'd eat everything you guys had at Captain's Grille. What a great meal!
That was a pretty great food day, I must admit. No reservations and we still ended up eating two amazing meals. It's great when it all just comes together like that!
and I was all set for the crab cakes. Then the waiter made the crab legs sound SOOOO good that I switched. Now I regret it even more than I did that night. Just way too much work for the reward. The crab cake looks amazing! DD had the short ribs which she loved and DH had something apparently forgetable & bemoaned not getting the short ribs too. I was going to write the place off but maybe I have to at least TRY the crab cakes
I have the same issue with crab legs. They're good, but I hate working for it. You definitely need to return for the crab cakes. They're worth the trip!
You made me giggle by spitting out the sushi from Japan!! My husband and I did the same thing, but only it was the chicken roll! It was the most disgusting thing I have ever put in my mouth!

I am so dramatic sometimes! That sushi really was nasty for me though. Wow, even the chicken roll was that bad? I guess some of us just aren't sushi people.
Wow! Captains Grille looks like a GREAT (and largely over-looked) option. I am blown away by the size of that shrimp appetizer - yum!!! Both entrees look absolutely delicious - I am totally thinking we need to add this place to the must-try list!

I have obviously never passed by the BW pool at night - because I would REMEMBER that sight!!!
We were shocked by the portion size as well! We could have easily made a meal out of just our appetizers. Rob has to eat here in September, so I hope it's just as good the second time.

That darn pool is just too freaky!!!
A pleasure! This thread has been a real pleasure to to read! Thank you!
Thanks so much! Only a few more updates left. At least I get to start a new one in less than 7 months.
