Gnomies Gone Wild

I actually read an article about Henrietta Lacks a couple of months ago (it must have been when the book was published) and was fascinated by the story!!!

Thanks for the recommendation on The Lady of Milkweed Manor -- off to check it out...

Oh, and LL, I read The Dead Travel Fast by Deanna Raybourne last weekend and could not put it down. Set in Transylvania in the mid-1800s -- and yes, it had vampires in it. ;)

I read about Henrietta Lacks in People I think it was. I get so many great titles from their book review section.

I am writing down "The Dead Travel Fast".

I also saw at the library this week a series that revolves around an Irish immigrant in NY during the 19th century and I think her name was Molly Murphy who solves mysteries. I requested the first book so I will let you know how it is. I was very intrigued by the books they had on display but of course not the first so I had to request it.

I have read all of the Molly Murphy series and really like it. My mom got me started on those books -- very suspenseful and quick reads. :thumbsup2

Awesome, they sounded really good. I was sad they didn't have the first book.

I still need to read those Tasha Alexander books too. My stack of books is ridiculous.

I started a new one tonight. It's called "The Ninth Daughter" and it's a new series with Abigail Adams solving mysteries in revolutionary Boston. It speaks to my inner History geek.

Oh, I will need to read those -- I have loved John and Abigail ever since I saw 1776.

Thanks for the recommendations, ladies. Cross your fingers for me, toss some pixie dust, light a candle... I'm hoping this works out. But who knows.

LL- you don't think a guy would find me flirting with the waiters romantic?? Hmmm...

LL & CP you two are reading machines!

Stacy- how's the new job going?

Can't believe it is Monday already. Ugh. Where does the time go? And where did the warm weather go??? :headache:

Have you seen the John Adams miniseries? If you haven't, rent it for this weekend and do not pass go until you have watched it. :rotfl2:

Yeah, I'd pass on the flirting with the waiters. :rotfl2:

I can't believe it's Monday either. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Are you just looking for an EPCOT romantic dinner...did I miss that detail??? I have to agree that Tutto and Les Chefs would be nice...but I think you could do a very nice romantic dinner at California Grill, Nacrossee's, or any of the other signature dining places...especially Bistros!

Hmmm...well I won't complain too much about this Monday because it is the last one until Spring Break which makes me smile inside! I cannot wait to have an entire week off WOOT!

Spring Break. That sounds like a nice thought. :cloud9: Yes, was just thinking of Epcot restaurants with Food and Wine going on and staying at Beach Club. Not sure I/we will feel like going somewhere else. Heck I'm not even sure if there is/will be a "we" :lmao:

I am sick. :sad2:  :upsidedow Why is it that some men have the "power" to make us crazy???? :confused3 Or was I already enroute to crazy town before I met him? :rotfl:

Monday down. Only four more days to go until another weekend!

Hope you're all well.

Hey- how many pages til the thread expires? Do we need another new one?

C - looks like we both are finally having a little luck in the man department! ;) I hope you two will be a we! :)

I don't think any of you would care for the book I'm reading....it's a different road for me but absolutely fascinating because it's soooo different from my life. It's Jenna Jameson's biography....it's certainly graphic but quite sad really!

Stacey! Have you been holding out on us?? Well lots of pixie dust to you too. Some good luck is well deserved around here, if I do say so myself.

Jenna Jameson the porn star? That must be an interesting biography... ;)

Oh, phew... a hundred more pages. No problem. I wonder what will happen in 100 pages. :rolleyes1

Haven't really been telling many people at all! Nothing has really happened...we've just been hanging out quite a bit lately...

And yep, that Jenna Jameson....I kept looking at it when I worked in the bookstore because tons of girls would come in asking for it. Then I saw it had come into paperback and I started reading in the store and I was hooked. It's more about her family history really and sorta how she got into the business out of needing to make money and she is super business-minded and smart! Some of it definately leaves me with my jaw on the floor though....I just can't imagine:eek: She definately doesn't leave much to the imagination. But if you can get past that it's a good read.

Sounds interesting Stace. Definitely can't bring that one to work when I cover the reception desk. :rotfl2:

I didn't read a whole lot tonight. I did walk to the library though and watched some tv with Marc. We recorded Celebrity Apprentice and the fact that a show like that sucks away two hours of my life every week makes me sick. :rotfl2:

I don't want to go to bed tonight because if I do that means I have to wake up and go to work. BOO.

Oh no, it's not a book I would ever read in public!! Oh dear no! I'll have to find a suitable book to take with me to WDW! Can you imagine the looks I would get at CBR?! Ha! ;)

I didn't read at all either....I went out for dinner with "someone" and then came home and watched New Moon with my family. They don't like watching it with me though since I keep yelling at stupid Jacob Black! ;)

I don't really want to sleep either LL since I have to wake up and go to the doctor....I don't want to have my blood taken!! I really don't do well with needles...but I also need to have my thyroid checked...BOO too! :(

Oh well, everyone have a good night and a good Tuesday morning!

Well well...

C and Stace both have potential "we's"

I'm not gonna pry because that's always and confusing thing to figure out for yourself. You hate to say much for fear you will look silly if things don't work out.

So I'll just send some pixie dust your way...you both deserve the BEST!!

I need some advice....WWGD? (what would gnomies do) My flight for May has gone through some changes. First change was just time adjustments, nothing major, no big deal. The second change was to let me know that our direct flight home was cancelled and we would have to do a layover in Milwaukee. I wasn't thrilled but really, it didn't change our plans all that much.

Well yesterday I got another e-mail. This one telling me that my flight home was going to have 2 layovers and instead of getting home at 11 in the morning, I would be arriving at 10 and night :scared1: I was NOT OK with this one!!! I called customer service and they gave me several options of alternate flights. I could get a direct flight if I wanted to leave on Saturday...um, no thank you. I could get a flight with only 1 layover if I wanted to stay another day...tempting but since they aren't gonna foot the bill for me to stary another night, I have to pass. The other option I felt like I HAD to take was another 2 layover route on the same day that will get us in by 11:30 in the morning. Of course to accomplish that, our flight will leave at 6:20 in the morning!!! I don't even want to think about what time we will have to be ready to catch ME :sad2:

I'm just pissed off because we had options when we originally booked and decided that AirTran offered a little more timing flexibility than Allegiant. Unforturnately, the only option Allegiant can offer is also a direct flight on Saturday (the day before our planned departure). Had I known this could happen, I would have just picked Allegiant from the start (they only offer flights 2 times a week so cancelling a flight and routing customers a different way isn't even an option!) I'm guessing the flight cancellation was due to not enough flyers but it really sucks that I just have to accept what they dish out! Yes I could request a full refund and they would honor that but there are not any decent priced options on other airlines

GRRRRR!!!!! :furious:

Hehehe, you could get some awfully funny looks around the pool that is for sure!

I had to have 12 vials of blood taken last week for a follow up from my surgery. I didn't even bruise! The tech I had was awesome. Just don't look, I'm not a huge fan of needles going into me either but I guess I've gotten used to it lately.

You're within walking distance of the library now, LL??? I am so jealous!!!
I am! It's so awesome. I can actually see it from my bedroom window.

Katie, that SUCKS about the flight. What a run around you are getting! Even though leaving that early in the morning is sucky, at least you are "flying" all day and dealing with arriving home really late.

My daughter's friend gets to go to Florida with us! I'm so excited! This is gonna be her best birthday EVER! :)
