Gnomies Gone Wild

Katie, sounds like a great way to spend the day -- I have had zero motivation today. Finished one book and started another. That's been the sole extent of what I have done today.

C, hope things calm down for you soon so you can come "play" on the DIS again.

I.

Hate.

Moving.

Now I'm hosting three of Marc's male cousins tonight. :headache: Originally all the cousins were supposed to come with their wives but only the singletons are coming. Just Leslie & the boys tonight. :rotfl:

I hate moving, too, so I feel your pain!

Yikes to all the cousins. That should make for an interesting night.

I miss moving every year or 2..... cause now I have to spring clean:rolleyes:

I wrapped/froze 400 lbs of beef today. Before it came at 10am..I had to clean my house..... dust, sweep, mop,the works. Can't wrap meat with dust bunnies hopping around (not to mention doggy hair :crazy2: )

Plus side... I can hang out in the craft room tomarrow:yay: Well other than the thanksgiving-style dinner I'm making tomarrow (had to get the turkey outta the freezer to make room:thumbsup2)

hope you are all doing well.

By the way bookies... I'm up to "Night Jasmine" in the Carnation series... I'm enjoying them:goodvibes

Paula

400 lbs of beef??? Holy Cow!!! (Bad pun intended :lmao:)

Hurray for spending the day in the craft room -- it has been FOREVER since I was able to scrapbook! I need spring break soon so I can do something fun like that!

You are tearing through the Pink Carnation series! I am so glad you love them! I just adore that series -- one of my favorites! :goodvibes

:sad2:

Good to hear from both C and P yesterday! I was wondering if you 2 ladies were OK.

C, what's the latest on a possible May trip?

LL, did you survive your "boys" evening? (or did you escape?)

Hope everyone gets over their lost hour quickly. sunday is never the hard one for me...it's Monday morning that the trouble begins!

One of the married cousins actually came with his wife at the last minute. They have 17 month old daughter who was is so freaking cute. But it just pointed out how un-child friendly my house is. :rotfl2: It was interesting seeing our cats with her too because they have never been around kids but they did well.

I'm hoping to get pictures up of the new apartment today along with some after pictures.

I feel like I am so behind on the DIS. I've been way too busy lately. I haven't been going on the computer a whole lately at all. It's kinda nice though, time to do some other things.....like start to plan our maybe January trip. I actually have done a few versions of an itinerary. I really want to make January happen but another part of me just wants to wait and see what comes along. I fear that planning a trip is irresponsible since we could use that money for savings. I'm having an internal battle about that is for sure.

Happy Sunday Gnomies! Hope you're all having a pleasant weekend! Even you with all the moving headaches LL! ;)

He behaved himself, but that might be because the worst of the weather fizzled out before it got to us. Thank goodness! We just had some really heavy rain!

What are you going to see today, Stace?

We had some awful weather yesterday too! Not severe though, just super windy and rainy. I was standing near the window at work yesterday and everyone's umbrellas were popping inside out - it was like watching all the nannies get blown away with their umbrellas in Mary Poppins!

I went and saw Remember Me last night. It was ok, though if Mr. Pattinson weren't in it I would probably have gotten bored. And it was so weird! I thought all the little twi-hard teenage girls would have been lined up out the door so I bought tickets in advance and got there early....there were 7 people in the theatre counting the 2 of us! I think maybe the weather kept the girls away!

Stace, thanks for asking about Beth. I talked to her last week and she has been feeling pretty good lately. She hasn't gotten to have her nerve block procedure yet because of insurance red tape. I don't know if it will happen before the trip or not :confused3 She is in the process of weaning off one medication and will be starting a different one in a few days. She is still amazingly optimistic about beating this thing down! Since she is feeling well, we are meeting for lunch next week in order to do a little more planning

No big exciting plans for our weekend. We are going to an art studio open house with a friend and his mom. We'll probably do lunch after and maybe go do some petting at the local nursery that is hosting pets from the shelter this weekend

That sounds like a fun weekend Katie! :) I'm glad to hear that Beth has such a great attitude about everything she has to deal with! That will definately help her beat it! And planning lunches are always fun!

400 lbs of beef?! Holy cow, indeed! :lmao:

LL - can't wait for pictures!

Katie - hope is still alive but unfortunately the May trip isn't looking too likely.

Sun finally out here after a very rainy last several days. Just in time for the workweek to start. Hopefully this week will allow me a little more time for DISing!

LL, to play devil's advocate, I did just read an article about a study that has been done that says experiences make people happier and more content. I know I am using it as justification for spending money on traveling. ;)

Stace, interesting about Remember Me -- I couldn't decide if it was really something I was interested in seeing or not -- I might just have to wait for the DVD on that one.

Christine, hurray for sun and a bit calmer of a week for you. Mine is going to be crazy busy -- I have to be at work at 7:15 all week for tutoring (another teacher and I take turns) and then, there is something going on every night for us. Blag!

I have decided I hate the time change -- losing an hour really stinks. I know I am going to have the hardest time going to bed tonight and will pay for it all tomorrow.:sad2:

I'm very torn about the trip. With the new move I'm going to try to get into new habits and one of them is going to be better about money. Of course I had to go out and buy myself a new bill binder. :rolleyes1

I don't have to go back to work until Wednesday so I have the next two days off still to enjoy the new apartment. I'm wide awake and I know I'm going to screw up my sleep pattern. Bah. Oh well.

Morning girls!! (Notice I left off the "good", it just seemed a bit to optimistic for the Monday after losing an hour)

I dreaded having to wake the boys up this morning but surprisingly, they got up fairly easily and got ready without any arguement. I'm afraid however I was the slowpoke this morning and they were late to school :headache:

It's a bit cloudy this morning but is supposed to become sunny later today and temps will remain in the 50's the rest of the week (I'm choosing to ignore the possibility of snow this weekend) The snow is almost all gone except for a few stubborn piles from the snowplows and although it was muddy, it was so nice to tell the boys to go OUTSIDE to play yesterday. They enjoyed riding their bikes again and playing soccer.

I was looking forward to lunch with Beth today but unfortunately, her nerve block wore off and she wasn't feeling great plus her hubby was unable to drive her so she didn't think she would be up to the trip. The good news is, she got an appointment for Thursday with the psychiatrist and may be able to get her procedure done in the next couple weeks so we are hoping this will be the thing to insure a pain free Disney trip!!

Thinking of all of you and the stresses in your lives. We all need a vacation!

Just a pretty purple 3 ring binder but I also bought inserts so that I can track certain bills like our debt payments and they can hold the current months bill until I pay it and then it will go in my big box o' bills. I'm going to try to organize my system today. First though I have to balance my checkbook and I know it's going to make me cry.

Good Afternoon Gnomies!!

Wow time sure is flying by!!! I miss talking with all of you!! Things are just busy busy here with getting everything together! Actually this weekend I had a Ladies conference at church and then spent some time with Prince P! However we are planning on having a Uhaul worth of stuff ready to move in 2 weeks time to go to Austin!!

Katie...my job fairs are April 10th! I will be flying to Austin (let's not go into that set of anxiety) and my dad will be meeting me to be my chauffer LOL!!!

Happy Monday to all of you!!!! Although with the dreariness outside, the loss of a precious hour of sleep, and March Madness (meaning Birthday Madness) breaking out over the weekend, I am POOPED!!!! I just want to curl up and sleep, but Megan is NOT interested in napping, and the little girl I babysit on Mondays has been FUSSY all day!!! BAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were SO busy this weekend taking care of three of the six March birthdays that we have in our family---and I am talking almost ALL immediate family too!!!! It is SO crazy around here in March, and I get to look forward to losing another entire weekend to that madness this coming weekend too!!! UGH!!! Is it April yet?!?!!?!?

Lots of blahness going on around here, hoping to have some fun soon to turn things around---so dreary!!!!

CP--I haven't had time to scrapbook in AGES......I must find some time to do this over Spring Break too!!! Thanks for the reminder!

Hope you all have lovely afternoons!!!!

Hi ladies!

I started my new position as jewellery consultant today! The goal is to do 4% of the store's total sales and I did over 6%! I made store history for us today! But...I'm still ready for my weekend off already!:rolleyes1

Katie - sorry to hear your lunch had to be cancelled, but I hope she is able to get her appointment!

JJ - sounds like you are pretty organised for your big move!

MM - I need to do some scrapping too, I haven't done it in ages! I've decided that when I move back down to the basement I'm going to set up a special scrapbooking table!

LL - I should buy a "bill binder" too. Purple sounds good! I just have a little plaid notebook from Michaels to track my spending...boring!

Hope everyone had an ok start to the week :)
