Gnomies Gone Wild

Okay, I want to do what YOU are doing today!!!!! We are due for some showers and thunderstorms all day.....on my agenda is laundry, cleaning bathrooms, watching little Ava (a family friend's baby that I watch a couple days a week), playing with Megan, and then going to my meeting for my women's weekend at my church this evening. See why I want to be doing what you are doing?!?!?!?

I don't blame you -- although I did clean and do laundry this weekend and you were probably having a better time than me then.

I don't think I can write about my weekend on the DISboards.....not very G or PG rated....let's just say there was much alcohol to be had this weekend by Tom and I.....between the work outing and working our festival, we were both done by Sunday. BUT, yes, it was a good time!!!! ;)

No one wants to do what I'm doing today? Sign up for a big car loan and monthly car payments? Go to the office you hate and work? Get stuck in rush hour traffic on the way home? Exercise? Eat a frozen diet meal for dinner?

Geez... what's the matter with you people? :lmao:

I am DYING to play hooky and go see Harry Potter!:upsidedow

Tom, who hasn't read the books or seen the previous movies with me, finally relented last night and said that he would watch all the previous movies with me, and then he would take me to go see the new movie. So, I need to pull out those DVDs and get started on that tomorrow.....I won't be home tonight to start that with him, but tomorrow will be Sorcerer's Stone for sure!!!!

Morning girls! (OK, it's pushing noon for some of you but this is the first chance I have had to get here today)

I dropped my boys off at SIL's house this morning. she is taking them plus her 3 to the arboretum for story/playtime and they were going to have a picnic. I think they will then come home and put the little one to bed and have movie time. sounds like a fun day!

I went home yesterday so frustrated with camp this week. they just didn't seem to be going as smoothly as last week. I talked with various people this morning and gave some suggestions and today seems to be off to a better start. It's funny that last week I wondered if I would be bored these 2 weeks but I have felt incredibly busy making sure everything goes well.

someone asked about jobs. I still am waiting to hear if my current job will continue. It is up to the dean right now to make the decision if I stay and I know there are lots of people in my corner pushing for it! I have an interview Monday morning for a part-time position working through a community college with their high school equivalency program (which I found out yesterday is brand new this year so it will be interesting to hear about it). I also completed my application last night for a full-time position at another university working with a math/science enrichment program for talented and promising kids with the ultimate goal of recruiting them. This also sounds like a fun job. I am a bit frustrated not knowing anything but also very positive about having a couple prospects. time will tell!

Here is the link to the house we like:

There are only a couple pictures on this site but if you go to "virtual media" under the photos, you can see the tour. It is new on the market and the realtor told us there was another couple looking at it this week (and also the house we looked at last week, they must have good taste!) so who knows if it will still be on the market when my job situation is settled and we are ready to progress. BUT, if it's meant to be...

Have a great day everyone!

OK, I finally checked out the youtube video. that is (in the words of MEK's nephew) AWESOME!!!!!!

I can just see the gnomies dancing and lipsyncing around the world. Wicked cool!

The house looks great, Katie! What an amazing big backyard. And the kitchen and great room look like they are pretty good size too. Plus it looks like a sunroom (with a hot tub!) and a game room! :thumbsup2

As you said, what's meant to be will be. If it's not this one then a better one will come along. On the one hand I like surprises but wouldn't it be fun to be psychic and just know what was going to happen? I'd like to use that on a few of my "dilemmas." :upsidedow

Phew. I am done with my tests. Not fun let me tell you.

Even though I am not suppose to have bread, I bought myself a 6 inch sub from Subway. Yum. And a Diet Dr. Pepper. Heaven on Earth.

C, I'd tell you to drive up and we could go to the movie but with your car situation....;)

I think you should play hookey. How far away from me are you again? :rolleyes1

Hurrah for being done with tests. Sorry they weren't fun. Are tests EVER fun? :confused3

I :lovestruc Subway bread! Yum-o! I'd say you deserve a treat. Obviously I'm no expert but I think moderation is the key. When I completely deny myself something I start to obsess over it and then end up over-indulging. So instead I just treat myself every once in a while! :thumbsup2 And when I do it is SO good. :cloud9:

I'm not sure how far I am- maybe a little over an hour? Unfortunately I have to work today but as a compromise am doing it from home. Of course I'm all dressed for work but it's still better to be home. ::yes::

So are you going to the movie? Will you tell me all about it??

I would be in my pj's if I was working from home. In fact I did wear my black yoga pants to the hospital. I'm usually always in jeans so it's weird. But I thought I'd be more comfortable. The tests were not fun at all but I don't think they ever are. I had an Upper GI, Chest Xrays, Ultrasounds, EKG, Electrocardiogram (sp?) and lab work. Phew. I even ran into Marc's Aunt & Uncle at the lab so it was nice to have someone to sit with and chat with.

I do think I am going to the movie. I'm in a better mood than I thought I'd be. Maybe it's the bread? :lmao: I think they want us to eliminate the carbs so we can show that we can do the diet after surgery. Which is fine but I figured indulging just this little bit was better than going to for the fried food or McDonalds. :rotfl2:

The Subway guy (forget his name) lost all that weight eating Subway so how bad can it be? ;)

You aren't supposed to have ANY carbs after surgery? I bow to your willpower. :worship: I don't think I could do it.

I seriously am really proud of you guys!! :upsidedow

No, they don't want us eating them now. It all depends on how I tolerate them. Some people don't tolerate them well after surgery. But you believe me...I will tolerate them if it's the last thing I do.

Harry Potter was AWESOME! Seriously good. There is only one thing I was disappointed in but again, I know that somethings have to be sacrificed for a movie.

How are my gnomies tonight?? :goodvibes
