Gnomies Gone Wild

So it looks like I'm back to square one on the car thing and will have to walk away from this purchase. :headache::headache::headache: But I guess on the bright side I at least know exactly what I want and what I'm willing to pay so I'll just call up another dealership and say here's what it is, if you can get that car for me, I'll be down with the $.

LL- can we commission you for sewing projects? The blanket is so pretty! Hope your day today at work is better!

That is too bad about the car purchase but it's probably for the best in the long run.

Of course you can! I've been oogling over the Beatrix Potter fabric online this morning. I love bunnies! :cloud9:

Gnomies I am so proud of myself!

Here is my baby blanket so far.

I still have to put the backing on and the binding but I am just so pleased with it! It's not perfect but I think it's pretty cute!

Love it. Didn't know you were so talented. ;) Can't wait to see the finished product.

It is astonishing to me that this dealership doesn't seem to be particularly interested in making a sale. Interesting customer service strategy. Yes, probably better in the long run but SO frustrating.

I just watched the "dancing" Disney video to try to cheer myself up.

Well, I think I'll wait until there's a baby in the picture before I commission you but I will keep it in mind. :thumbsup2

OK- dealership just emailed. They found the $. But now the car isn't ready. It still needs to be cleaned. Can you believe it?? I don't know what to do. On the one hand I want to "teach them a lesson" and don't want to reward this service with a sale but on the other I just want to get my new car and be done with it.

WWGD - what would the gnomies do???

Geesh Stace, that is a really rotten deal! I can't believe they discussed full-time with you, allowed you to quit your current job then only offer part-time work. Go in there and show them how much they need you!

C, this whole car thing would probably have pissed me off enough to walk away from this deal unless they are willing to offer you something in exchange for all the hassle they have put you through. who wants to give their money to a dealer who has this sort of customer service (and god forbid something goes wrong with the car and you have to return to them for service?) Since you know exactly what you want and how much you are willing to pay, I would take today's vacation day and go visit another dealer and see if they will work with you.

Good morning to the rest of my gnomies! :goodvibes

That is a hard one! I don't know what I would do.....I'm worried if you walk away now that they have found the money that you will have more problems...?? I dunno. Call you bank maybe and see if you can still walk away?

Thanks, gals. I am most definitely in the PO'd category. It actually takes me a long time to get there but once I'm there?

Good call on the $, LL. I was thinking the same thing. I think I will call the bank now and see if there's anything I can do. If there isn't that will really suck. :sad2:

I've had a bit of a crummy day. I went to my new job to pick up my new hire package and the offer inside was for part time. I spoke with my future manager and I guess she has decided that she can't offer any positions for sure until she works with us for awhile. This is total crap! My replacement at Fruits&Passion has already been hired too, so I have no choice but to take it for now. My F&P manager has agreed to keep me on for one shift a week so I can keep my discount. I don't know what to do now but pray that it works out in my favour...:confused3:headache::sad1: I was so upset I went straight to my mum's house and she made me a nice big breakfast and let me cry it out. Then we watched game shows all afternoon. God Bless my mother!

Oh, Stace, I am so sorry!!!

Hey gang....

CP....Oh, I can't believe you are rolling into the next school year, because it feels just like yesterday that I was offering to come down last year and help you set up your room!!!! Have "fun" sweetie!

Hi, Jen! Now, it's time to set it up again!

CP- The Today Show is in Key West. Are you watching? I cannot believe you go back to work on Friday?! That is just WRONG.

Ughhh, I wish I had known -- I treated myself to sleeping in today!

Good Morning Gnomies.

Hi, LL!!!

Oh, I don't know what I would do -- that's a tough call!

I don't blame you at all for bieng PO'd! Let us know what the bank says.

:furious: :furious: :furious:

I am beyond irate. I can't stand it. So from the perspective of my bank the funds are in the dealer's acct so they can't just pull them back. They can assist me in complaint etc.

Get this- the GM of the dealership just called me "concerned" I was not happy. He was so condescending. "I don't know if you know this," he says, "but we are in the business of wanting to sell cars and get them delivered quickly." Then HE says to ME, "I'm sensing a bit of an attitude."

:furious: :furious: :furious:

I'm not proud but I actually said "Slow down there, pal. Is this actually your idea of customer service?"

He asked if I wanted anything "extra" but didn't offer anything. What was I supposed to say, a free car? :confused3 He did say that they don't want me buying from them if I'm not happy so that leads me to believe that they would wire the funds back to the bank. But I'm not entirely confident that will be a smooth process since they can't manage to handle a sale.

Now I REALLY don't know what to do. On the one hand I just want this over with and be driving my new car (which I love). On the other hand, how can I give almost $30K to these bozos??

That's it, C -- after that conversation, I would walk away, and I would also call the car maker's customer service and tell them exactly what you think of this dealer. There is no excuse for behavior like that! :headache:

I agree with Jackie! If there is anyway you can pull the money out, I would do it!!!! Definitely call the higher ups and let them know about the dealers "service" This is just a crappy way to be treating someone handing you such a large check! Think about the service you get from Disney for a fraction of that price!

I'm certain another dealer can find you the equivalent car so you don't have to give anything up, just your time. This dealer deserves it!

I agree with the girls, C! Report the dealership!!! A-Holes. Corporate always hits harder then local.

Everybody is having a crazy week, it seems.

Looking at houses again tommorow. I'm so over this already. BUT I'm pretty sure we're going to love one in particular so let's hope so!

Work is unbearable right now. I so don't want to be here and am regretting going to FL and using up all my PTO hours. Ugh. No Disney and all worked out.

Pull out. Just do it. You don't want to deal with these JERKS. I would start the process ASAP!

Thanks, gals. Good contrast with the Disney service, Katie. I'd be staying a night in the castle for sure if this was Disney! :rotfl:

Still haven't decided what to do. I'm over the whole car purchase thing.

Julez- I hope the house you see is perfect!! :goodvibes

Morning Gnomies!

Pray for sunshine here because my momma wants to take me to the drive-in tonight! She has become obsessed with the idea of going! However, it is raining right now....:confused3

And thanks again to all of you on the job front for your encouragment. I think you all took the words right out of my mouth. I am gonna go in there tomorrow with the biggest smile I have, dressed professionally (unlike all the people who showed up in jeans!), and give 'em the best of what I got! I've got ten years of retail experience and management experience and I'm better than all those other people! :snooty::laughing: And well, if that still doesn't work out then I'll keep looking for something promising!:goodvibes

C - I would have lost my ever-loving mind by now! I would be giving that manager a piece of my mind! I would be pulling out of the deal and telling him I want my money back. That they should learn how to treat their customers if they expect to stay in business, and how I would be spreading the word about the "service" I had recieved! I guess all I can say is that I hope everything works out for you.

I AM HOME!! Woot sweeter words have never been spoken and I'm sitting in my computer chair in my office and I'm home...this is so exciting for me!!!! Of course then the reality sets in that I'm leaving again on Saturday and I'm flying alone...and well I'm not going to dwell on that!!

Okay C....I'm sure you have had all day to cool down and decide what you are going to do...but at this point I would be demanding...a year of gas fill-ups or major gift cards if I was still going to do business with them. I would definitely be reporting them to corporate and I would make sure to let them know that every single person who OOHs and Awws at my car knows that where I got was the worst car place ever and they shouldn't even waste their time stepping foot on the lot...I'm don't get riled up easy, but even knowing you went through all of this makes me want to call for you too LOL!!!

Welcome home, Jen! :goodvibes

Great attitude re: work, Stacy! I am impressed!! :) Good luck today, let us know how it goes!

Well on the car front, gnomies.... I am picking it up today. I know, they REALLY don't deserve it. But a friend (who is very wise and manages me very well :lmao:) pointed out that I've already spent two days of my precious vacation furious on the topic and did I really want to spend the rest of it trying to get my $ back and going through the process again when this is the car I want at the price I want. Good point. It takes a lot of energy to be that mad, ya know!?

But I do appreciate all of the support and anger on my behalf! :)

So I am picking it up today, walking away from the dealership and I don't expect to return! And I'm going to enjoy the rest of my vacation!!! Even though it looks like rain today. Figures!!

Good Morning Gnomies!

I'm having one of those days. Bah. It actually started last night and it continues this morning. I want to go back to bed and start over! :headache:

*I cut the backing for my blanket too short last night because I wasn't paying attention so I need to get another piece.

*I had to schedule my dreaded sleep study which they scheduled for a Sunday during the week that I have to work on the weekend for work. BAH. They wouldn't let me push it out any further. So that is two sucky weekends in a row.

*I forgot my breakfast. It's really hard with the diet I'm on to do a meal on the fly, especially at work where the only thing in the vending machine is junk.

Now that I got that off my chest, I am going to try to be positive for the rest of the day. :upsidedow

C, I think that is a good way to look at your car situation. I can't wait to see pictures! :goodvibes
