Gnomies Gone Wild

Sure, Katie! I will keep my eyes peeled for them. :goodvibes

Hi, LL! I am trying to finish up on the DIS and post a couple of pictures from Chelsea's b-day. How was your day today?

My day was okay. Just another Saturday, had class till about Noon, which is much better than the 4:30 it is supposed to be and then I did a little shopping for Disney which is ALWAYS fun. :thumbsup2

Marc has Friday, Saturday & Sunday off next weekend and I don't have class. So I'm trying to figure out what we could do. Marc really wants to go away for a night but it would have to be super cheap since we have Disney right around the corner. Trying to figure out something today. :confused3

Hi gals,

Jackie is en route to WDW. Don't we all wish we were too?

Jen (MM)- fantastic news about the job. Let us know how it goes tomorrow. Sure sounds like it is pretty close to a "done deal."

Paula- have fun in DC. Such a fun city!

Jen (JJ)- how goes things in the great state of TX?

LL- what have you and Marc been up to this weekend?

Katie- how are you? When do you think you'll hear about the opportunity on the indian settlement? Fingers crossed for you!

Stacy- have you recovered from your various ailments? I hope so!

Jess- how are you and Blake doing with all those career decisions? :goodvibes

-----

I'm fighting an urge to go to WDW next weekend. Yep, next weekend. It's my birthday and I just don't want to be home. It's totally irresponsible but... :rolleyes1

Guess who has a flipping KIDNEY STONE!?!?!

Yep, that would be me!!

I am so sick of doctors, emergency rooms, and healthcare in general.

Bah.

So, that pain I had a few weeks ago? Kidney Stone. Oh and guess what? Once you get one, then you are prone to them. Lucky me!! On top of that, the pain is making me naseaous and dry heaves which can make my band slip so they've given me medicine for that too.

PLUS, my boss is out tomorrow, the other girl in my department is out for a two week vacation and they want me to take 2 days off. And quite honestly if I have to deal with this pain then I'm going to need too. So I'm stressed to the maxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

This ends my venting rant.

Thanks for listening. :flower3:

Oh, LL! I'm so sorry to hear that! I had one a few years ago and it was AWFUL. But if it makes you feel better, they told me the same (that I'd be prone to them) and I have not had another one. It has been at least two years. To make you feel better... here is my story. :upsidedow

Saturday night/Sunday morning. Pain woke me up. Didn't know what it was. Tried to power through (I hate doctors) but couldn't. I had, however, seen enough Grey's Anatomy to know that the Dr. in the ER could be cute. :rolleyes1 So picture me, doubled over in pain, vomiting, and in the shower shaving my legs just in case. :lmao::lmao:

Once I got to the ER I got a morphine drip. :cloud9:

I remember the nurse telling me the pain was on par with child birth. I told her that if that was the case I was NEVER having children.

Anyway, as I said, it was an awful experience and I was very afraid of repeating it but- knock on wood- I've been ok. I will say I am obsessive about drinking water and drink nearly obscene amounts every day. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. :confused3

Sorry you're dealing with this and, yes, if I go to Disney you can definitely stow-away!

Oh Leslie, I'm so sorry that you are having to go through this, ugggh I hope you get to feeling better VERY quickly!!! Drinks lots of water and get lots of rest!!!

C...I say spending your birthday in Disney sounds amazing!!!! Of course I would like to come along too...however we will be doing house inspections this weekend!

Things in Texas are good, finally feel like we are getting settled! The last we need to line up is a part time job for Phillip! So please be in prayer about that!

Did you see this on the Disney Parks blog? Sounds pretty cool. We'll have to see what the pricepoint is...

If you’ve ever wanted to venture off the beaten path and farther into the Kilimanjaro Safaris Expedition savannah, you’ll have a chance later this year. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will be offering a new, immersive experience that’ll take a small group of Guests on personalized, guided treks along some unexplored areas of the Harambe Reserve.

During the excursions, you’ll be able to spend more time observing the wildlife on the savannah and have a chance to learn about the animals and their behaviors from one of our Disney guides. Adventurers will also trek through an undeveloped forest area of the Harambe Reserve and then board a unique vehicle specially designed for the rest of the quest.

Walt Disney Imagineers are still working on many of the details but we wanted to share the news with you first. Reservations for this specially priced tour won’t begin until later this year, so keep checking back for more details.

OOOH that sounds like a lot of fun!!! It will be interesting to see how much it costs!!!

C- ohhhh that tour sounds awesome! I'm not sure I even care what it costs... sign me up in April!!

LL- sorry about the stone... uggghhhh!! Hope it passes....soonest!

MM- woohoo on the job!! Can't wait til you tell us tomarrow that your IN!!

JJ- yay 4 buying a new house!! Can't wait to see the pics!

DC was nice. We only went to the American History Museum and the American Indian museum. Snapped a total of 20 pics... thats it! I got a couple nice ones of the Capitol bldg and Georgetown University skyline.

In other news...Kyle went on his 1st date this weekend... and I MISSED IT! Oh well.... I'm sure there will be another one eventually! He did really well. We let him stay home himself over the weekend... I didn't even come home to dirty dishes in the sink! no worries... the date was 'supervised' by her dad... so no funny business was had...at least not here!

Cya l8r!
P

Yikes, LL! Hope things improve quickly!!

P, Kyle is dating?!? I am not ready to imagine those days!

JJ, glad things seem to be falling into place

C, too funny about getting dolled up for an ER visit :rotfl2: The thought of doing something completely impractical and irrational like taking off for Disney on a weeks notice is one of the things that sometimes makes me think it would be fun to be single and childless (an appealing thought after today :sad2:)

I took the boys to the pool yesterday and normally I would have Patrick spray my back for me but he wasn't feeling well when Daniel and I left to meet friends (Greg brought him later after a rest helped him feel better) and I thought I would be able to spray my back myself...WRONG! I haven't had a bad sunburn in many years and this one hurts!

Today I took them to the arts festival in town. We spent 1 1/2 hours doing all the kids activities and I was a patient, good mom. Then when it was my turn to look around at the booths, they couldn't give me 1/2 hour in return without them arguing and complaining :furious: We then had to go to a birthday party and put on a happy face, and it was a pool party and being in the sun was the last place I wanted to be.

I would say I'm glad the weekend is over but in the summer, everyday might as well be the weekend (which I know to those of you who are employed, sounds like I have nothing to complain about!)

OK, vent over!

Thanks Gnomies!! Sometimes you just need to vent to feel better.

Oh, LL! I'm so sorry to hear that! I had one a few years ago and it was AWFUL. But if it makes you feel better, they told me the same (that I'd be prone to them) and I have not had another one. It has been at least two years. To make you feel better... here is my story. :upsidedow

Sorry you're dealing with this and, yes, if I go to Disney you can definitely stow-away!
:lmao: Your story cheers me up. No more kidney stones!! I drink quite a bit of water but you can be sure that I will be drinking more. I'm going to see if my primary care doctor will give me something to bring to Disney because just in case, I don't want to be miserable my whole vacation. Also going to ask my surgeon for some anti-nausea meds. I do NOT want my band to slip.

I went to the ER yesterday with somewhat unacceptable legs. I was NOT going to get in the shower. I was in so much pain. I told Marc yesterday while we were waiting that if childbirth is going to hurt more than I'm OUT. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I'm just so sick of doctors. For the last two years I feel like I live at the doctors/hospital. Between the whole trying to get pregnant thing then both of my surgeries and then Marc's....I'm just DONE with the whole thing. I don't want to be a patient anymore. Marc was counting up how many times we've been to the hospital/er/doctors offices together and it's truly ridiculous. :rotfl2:

I was in quite a bit of pain last night before my meds kicked in again. I slept good though, that stuff knocks me right out. I'm getting ready to take it again because I want to stay on top of the pain.

P - I can't believe he's dating!!

Katie - UGH! Sunburns are the worst. :grouphug:

Wow...wtg Kyle on the first date!!!! Glad you had a great time at DC P!! Hope to see some pictures soon!!!

Katie...sounds like a lot of fun!!!!

Leslie...glad you are doing better today!!!

LL-OH NO to Kidney stones!! I hope you are able to stay on top of your meds, just remember all your new Disney pages you have! We all love you!
Katie-OY I hate sunburn! I always miss a spot too!:headache:
P-I can't believe Kyle is dating! Yay to him for staying at home and keeping the house neat for you!
C-You are too funny about the ER Story!! Oooh, let us know if you do end up being spontaneous! Birthdays in Disney are always better!
CP-Hope you're having fun! I know I'm jealous of all the fun I'm sure you're having!

I keep checking to see what the word on MM's "interview" is. Anxious to hear that you got a job offer!!

So I know CP is gone and had an excuse this week....where are the rest of my gnomies? :confused3
