Do you get one pair of ears and they will work with all the nighttime shows? How do they work?

Do a lot of people have them? Are my kids going to see all the people with them and "have to have" them?

Also I saw there was maybe some inventory issues - are they readily available for purchase in the parks?

I didn't know about these and had such a delightful surprise at Fantasmic thanks to all the people that had bought them! 99% of them worked perfectly. (One or two didn't change color as fast.)

Honestly, it was REALLY REALLY neat technology. But its not appreciated if its on YOUR head (so you better get a few for your group or like us, hope the quite a few of the rest of the audience did!)

It did add a lot to the show. They were neat.

When we were there in October, very, very few people had them. I think I counted 10 in the Fantasmic audience. The CMs were pushing them hard, but very few people seemed to be interested in spending $25 on a pair of heavy ears that entertain other people.

There has been a pic posted on the board of a Fantasmic where all audience members were given a complimentary pair (right at the launch of the ears) and that looked cool, but when there are only a few people in the audience wearing them, it falls flat.

I'd say maybe 1 out of 10 or 20 on May 4? There were LOTS of blinking sync'ed ears at ours. I didn't know anything about it.

Last December, the week before Xmas, at Wishes I saw maybe 6 pairs within our view. its pretty neat in that sync to what's happening in the show, audio and video.

But as others have posted, they are for the entertainment of people around you, really behind you, not really yours.

I have these ears, and I want to love them, but for 25 bucks they should feel a lot more comfortable than a barely balanced on top of your head box. I get tons of comments on them when I wear them though, and they do have a pattern when worn outside of the show. Also, I noticed in different parts of the parks, it has different patterns, which is really interesting.

this is one of the few topics that just seemed to evaporate shortly after launch. NO one talks about them. So where do you get them?? I remember my first trip, I learned that for the real-deal ears with your name on it, I had to go to DTD, and not even to World of Disney, but a special store. Can you get plain glow with the shows in the Parks??

Saw them in all the major gift shops and on carts pulled out as it got dark.

DD really wanted them on our trip just a couple weeks ago. They were plentiful at carts and in shops. They work at the MSEP, Wishes and Fantasmic. We saw some, but not a lot around us.

DD quickly realized that she couldn't enjoy the ears she had purchased if she was wearing them, plus the weight of them was bothering her. So suddenly, she was generously offering to let me wear them.

They are fun, though as others mentioned, they are also heavy and hard. They worked beautifully in January along Main Street for MSEP and Wishes. They worked but not quite as well in the hub May 30 for MSEP through Wishes. Ours did not work at all from the section mid-right (not right edge and not center, but mid-way between) near the top at Fantasmic June 1 (or 2, I forget which). Just in case you want to blame the batteries, one of our hats had brand-new batteries. Anyhow, I hope they will continue to install more and better transmitters so they work more consistently soon.
They are available at The Emporium in MK and multiple locations in HS.

I didn't really notice them in May at Wishes, but I was looking at the sky. Didn't do Fantasmic this trip, perhaps sitting in a stadium I may have noticed them!

We were there for a week, late April/early May. We saw a handful of them, hardly any. Most reviews I have seen here on the boards are generally negative...expensive, heavy and not for your own entertainment, but for others around you.

Same here! I never knew a thing about them until we were watching Fantasmic on our first night last week, June 3rd. I noticed waves of color in the audience and then realized what was happening with the ears. I pointed it out to my cousin and we both were mesmerized at how they were synced with the music!

There were a ton of people wearing them in the audience, too. Definitely noticeable, but I'd rather watch others than wear them myself!
