I was able to do a search for the hotel and it seems most people do not like it very much, but they don't say why. The only thing that stands out in my mind from what I read is that the doors slam closed. While I hate that at hotels, too, I will gladly stay there for $40 a night. (hotelkingdom rate) So, what are the other reasons people do not like the hotel? Is it really that bad? I just need a place close to wdw that is cheap and I wouldn't have to rent a car to get around. The courtyard is too expensive over the weekend or I would stay there.

Which hotel is it on the Blvd?

My parents stayed there for a visit to DD at Christmas (unfortunately, on my recommendation due to its location) and hated it. They actually checked out after one night. They are not especially particular (they like clean and a cheap rate), but they said the room wasn't in good repair and that the noise from outside the room was very bad. They got very little sleep. I've never stayed there, but they've convinced me to skip it regardless of location.

we stayed at the grosner 7/30-8/2/03. we hated it. The bus service is not reliable. Thank goodness we had a rental car. the only perk was being able to buy e ride tickets and the price which allowed 5 people in a room. we have three children.

So far, it doesn't sound horrible. (days inn horrible anyway) I can live with "older", as long as there isn't still shag carpet from the '70s. ;) I've delt with the bus system before when we stayed at the Doubletree. While it was late at the hotel, it was right on time at DTD. If the Grosvenor is close enough, I could always just walk. It doesn't sound like the greatest hotel, but it doesn't sound too bad. All I want is clean, close enough not to have to have a car and to lay out at the pool and listen to Buffet. So far, it seems to fit the bill.

Anyone else want to share info?

We did a one night stay there over the easter break and had no problems. The rooms are a little older, but the price was right. Clean sheets, blankets, room, excellent service and a terrific character breakfast to boot! We are booked at the HIFS for 3 nights in Dec at the great rate of $76, but would go to the Grosvenor again if we could get a better rate than that.

Just got back from a week at the Grosvenor, and it wasn't that bad. I think that the hotel seems to be trying to fix some of their problems. Our room was clean, and the pools are very nice. We only used the bus once, but it was fine, and my kids enjoyed the character breakfast on our last morning, Pluto and Goofy without having to travel anywhere! My biggest complaint would be the stinky stairways, which were quite stinky, but for the price and location, it was fine.

I considered getting a room from the grosvenor for one of my past trips. I had gotten one of the rooms that was suppost to be a kids suite reserved. I had heard a lot of the rumors about the grosvenor so I called the grosvenor it self and asked some questions. To my amazement the person on duty was very honest. I asked him about the walls being so thin that you could hear people in the next room. He said, " yes , its true. " He also told me that one side of the tower was particularly bad when it came to the echos of the fireworks. He also told me that the kid suites were not any larger than the regular rooms with two queen beds. It is just the bunk beds were partitioned to set them aside from the other bed. Upon him answering my questions I cancelled my reservations. And promptly booked carribean beach. I don't know if these answer your questions , but I hope it helps.

Check out my review on the other Grosvenor post, we satyed 7 nights last night being Sat, 8/30/03. Doors were annoying, staff was great, our bathroom smelled of old urine. Overall, if you can deal with that the price is right. We were not crazy about the long commutes back and forth the MK and Epcot, but if you have experience maybe that is all right with you.

We stayed in a Tower room and used the bus to go to EPCOT. No problems. We did see a Courtyard room and it wasnt as nice but it wasnt horrible.
