I asked the same question on the Disboutiquers thread and Teresajoy said she would make me one! im getting my measurements taken for prom and im sendign them to her and she said shed tell me how much!! its SUCH a pretty dress!!!
It's a Regency-style Empire round gown with a visible underskirt. All of the major pattern companies have a similar gown in their pattern catalogs in the costume section. It just needs to be made with two layers of skirt, one split down the front. Any seamstress worth the money could copy it easily.
Oh my gosh!!! I was after the exact same dress in adult size!!! I want if for my 30th birthday as I am having a disney themed prince and princesses ball, I know it sounds grand but it will be me and my friends at a local hang out, but i just have to have a Giselle dress
We are going in October for the not so scary Halloween pary, and I really want the dress for that!!!
So far I am really having a hard time finding a fabric. The closest I can find are in the asian floral brocades. They have a similar look, and the weight should work really well. Has anyone found anything better?????
For a pattern, I found the Butterick 6630. It has nice lines, puffy sleeves, an outer split gown and a separate gown you can use for the under skirt. Other than that the only tweeking it will need is to change the bust line to a sweatheart.
Oh, that dress is so cute!! I can't believe the CM was so rude!!! I really want to find something with the embroidered look. The best I have found so far is from pearlriver.com They have one called Bamboo Floral Brocade that actually comes in aqua. I have to order a swatch next week.
One of my girlfriends saw the new curtains I just put up in my bedroom and said - just use those (they are a pale aqua grey, with floral emb)!
If you Pm Teresajoy she may be able to make you one. She is from the Disboutique board and a wonderful seamstress (and a very sweet lady). She made one for her dd and is adorable (as is her sweet dd)

In total after fabric and mailing everything (I picked/purchased/sent the fabric and ribbons to her) plus her labor it was close to $150. 7mths later it still fits DD and she wears it all the time so IMO it was money well spent. DD plans to bring it back to WDW again with us this coming Dec too as long as it still fits her. And every CM and princess knew exactly who she was dressed as so that was completely awesome.

I got the fabric at Jo-ann Fabrics. But that was way back in '08 so I doubt there would be the same fabric there now. It is a rather heavy fabric, not cotton like softness, more curtain-like.
