Girls Trip~OLD THREAD (see first post for link to new one)

This will be my first trip too!

I wish my family understood my obsession with Disney but they do not in any way understand why I want to go to DL so often.

In fact my Sister in Law who is visiting from San Diego with her 5 kids said to me this morning...

"You know if you are going to spend a week at DL by yourself you could take one of my kids with you!"

Like its not okay to go to DL without kids!!

That's just funny. My husband is SO glad that I (1) TOTALLY have NO problem going to DL BY MYSELF and (2) Have crazy friends to go with so he doesn't have to. LOL

Ok I have to say it. I am getting so excited to be going for my first trip. I mean to be around others who totally get my obsession with Disney just blows my mind.
My family is so happy I am going to do it. My DDs are like mom you deserve it and should go no matter what. You know your on the site all the time. Say I should go and meet you all and not worry so much.
It's so nice to have them saying those things. I usually don't do things and talk myself out of everything. I do it all for my family before I do for me. I think it's just a mom thing.

You will have a great time. I went in 2010 and had a blast. I won't be able to go this year because I am taking the grandkids to Disney World this Christmas. Hopefully I will be able to attend the next year.

My husband refuses to go with me to DL. I wish I had crazy friends willing to go with me, most of my friends think I am crazy for wanting to go so much just like my hubby does... but that is why I am joining this group to make new friends!

Jessica and I are meeting up for a couple days in October but I will be there solo for 3 days before she gets there.

I am still debating on renewing my AP. AS much as I love DL I am not sure I want to do that many more solo trips...

Beth - add my friend, Trish, to the attendee list. She and I will be rooming at the Carousel. We ***might*** be looking for one more to share the room for Thurs - Sun (3 nights). If you are traveling solo, non smoking, not offended by a wine drinker (me), and can live with a couple of 48 - 52 year olds who need some sleep, send me a PM. Like I said, we have tossed the idea out, but haven't decided for sure yet.

Did anyone rooming at Carousel last year add a rollaway to their room? I seem to remember someone had one? How did that work out?

Trish and I have been several times together both with and without her son (who turns 21 next year). I went to WDW with them just before Christmas in 2004. She's *possibly* a bigger Disney freak than I am. LOL

It's funny you talking about how your husbands love you having someone to go with so they don't have too.

My dh was the same way. He liked going to Disney World but he wasn't as crazy about it as I am.

In 2005 Beth came up with the idea of DisLadies going to Disney World and when I told my dh he was like "Go"! I was surprised because I thought he would worry about meeting a bunch of people from around the country that I had only talked to on the DIS board. I even rode all the way there with Kendra who was such a great person.

We had a great time and I made some good friends, Beth, Sarah and January. So I enjoyed seeing them again in 2010 (except January who didn't get to come) and I got to see Disneyland for the very first time.

In 2010 my dd was the one telling me to go, took up where my dh left off.

Well I tried to catch up. A lot of stuff going on, and I'm trying to remember everything. No way. LOL.... Just know that I was thinking about all of you, as I was reading.

The hunt committee is rolling along in getting our act together. Woo hoo! Lots of sign ups for it.

I have 12 ladies signed up for the purple castle tees. Might be enough to get a good price again! Who knows how many will be signing up for our new tee for this year?

Beth, I'm coming again in September to Vegas for the Barrett Jackson car auction. Yay! I hope we can get together some time!

Lisa, Who are you hoping wins the "Next Food Network Star?" As of the moment, I think they all deserve it. I'm kind of partial to Vic, but Jeff or Susie would be awesome too.

New shirt? Was I suppose to mention that one too? If so then I will need one.


I love WDW. I wish I could afford to get at least once a year. I am lucky to have gone 3x. It's just such a fun trip to do. Maybe if I only had me to pay for and maybe my grandson I could afford to go with a fellow diser or two?

I love WDW as well... I went a few times as a kid and then once for my 5 year wedding anniversary. After going on that trip it makes it hard to think about going back without my hubby but I may have to as he isn't interested in going!

Just a quick post to see how everyone is doing. I hope all is well. Things are getting a bit busier in my house as my kids go back to school in 10 days. .

Mel, I agree they're all deserving of the win. I wouldn't mind learning new recipes from any of them. I'm kind of partial to Susie but I wouldn't mind learning all different ways to make sandwiches either, not too mention I enjoy Italian food. So I'm at a loss as to who I think should win but at the same time I know I'll enjoy the show (no matter who wins.)

Is it time to sign up for them? If so put me on the list ! They're pink right? What shade of pink, or has that even been decided yet? I have to decide if I'll send you my own again or hope one of yours fits me right. Remember my castle shirt was a 'slightly' different shade of purple than the rest.

My mom doesn't understand my love for disney (she likes disney and I am trying to get a family one day trip together/my daughter said just plan a day and whoever wants to can come and my mom sounded interested in going) The three people (besides me and my daughter) that like going and have passes have the cheap ones. there are 12 weeks a year plus all holidays that I don't work and the cheap passes are blocked all those days.

The funny thing is she is probably the one that started it. We watched wonderful world of disney every week. (we watched all the movies -not just the animated movies- like old yeller, pollyana, parent trap, swiss family robinson to name a few)

We also went to Disneyland at least once a year if not more. Always on spring break. I went to Catholic school till 8th grade and our spring break was different than everyone elses. they had a special deal during catholic schools week. We alswould sometimes go in the summer or when out of town guest came for a visit.

My Cinderella collection started as a child on our disneyland visits we were allowed one souvenir. I almost always got something from cinderella (and I still have them all)

And my mom wonders why I love Disney and never get tired of visiting the parks

Thanks Beth. We are going to be staying here in town, just need a bigger house. When we bought this one we had one kid...now with two it is getting a bit tight.

Sounds like you had a great time. Hey you could adopt me, no that wouldn't work, your adopted daughter old enough to be your mother (maybe even grandmother). Ah...that's nice about the honorary member but I really can be a little stinker. I was being on my best behavior.

Hello ladies!!!!

I'm just popping in between baking apple crisp, cleaning, and packing to say hello! It's been crazy busy here lately. Ruben is off this week, so we've been doing fun family things. Just got back from The Orleans after spending last night there, swimming, bowling, etc.
Today my sister-in-law arrives and we have a busy, but fun weekend planned with trips to Madame Toussuads, Blue Man Group, Chippendales, Viva Elvis, etc. Thank goodness for locals deals!!! Whew!

Anyway just wanted to say I did read back. I just don't have time to respond to all of you.
I am so happy to see our new members getting excited. I can't wait to meet you all and promise you won't regret making the decision to join this trip. You won't find a more fun, wild, Disney lovin' group that this! Well, in my humble opinion that is. lol

I hope you are all doing well and will check in again, probably sometime on Monday. Take care!!
