Girls Trip~OLD THREAD (see first post for link to new one)

Have to say, I was not that impressed with WDW. Too much time was lost taking the transportation to and from the parks. We were at the Yacht Club so at least we could walk to Epcot and Hollywood studios but the other parks were a pain to get to. All the time spent traveling between the hotel and the parks took away some of the magic for me. Guess I will stick to my dear sweet Disneyland! And very excited that I am going there next Saturday - can't wait!!

I felt the same about the transportation. Although parkhopping between MK and Epcot wasn't bad. The only other day we did two parks was the day we did AK, since it closed at 5. That left us plenty of time to take in the "nightlife" at MK, including the Electric Parade.

Happy Monday everyone! I am stopping at this post so that I don't accidentally see who won Food Network Star last night.

Funny story - Trish and I were flying down to DL, it may have been for the Diva trip, and I was watching Hell's Kitchen on my iPod. She asked what I was watching and I said, "The first episode of Hell's Kitchen, season 3 (or whichever season it was)". She says, "Oh, is that the one that so-snd-so won?". Blink. Blink.
Oh yes, she went and told me who won before I'd even finished the first episode.
So I'm a little more careful for setting myself up to see spoilers now. LOL

And on the shirts? I'll wear it. For the photo. Most of my shirts are either pastel or they are DARK - black, navy, etc. I don't do bright. LOL I do find it amusing that Hanes makes that color ONLY in the "beefy T" line - not in the women's cuts. Evening ladies!!

Just wanted to say thank you to the Diva's that have donated to our Autism Speaks Walk!!!! Our walk is in 12 days & we're getting excited to go & share this time with other families!!! (still taking donations, just message me if you can help)

Today was a rough one....ok, maybe not just today.....Anthony stole his brothers ipod & Addy told us when we were going to bed last night. Mike went in to his room & found it. We weren't too happy about it, then this morning....he comes downstairs with it & tells us Addy went into our bedroom & took it. So now both kids are on my list!! Find out at dinner, that Anthony had taken the ipod very early yesterday....had it outside with the neighbor kids & only brought it in & hid it when the batteries died on it.

Ty is camping & has no clue this has been going on. We're actually gonna leave it up to Tyler to decide how long they're grounded. Just frustrated that he's stealing stuff again.

Morning ladies! I am back from WDW - and boy was it hot!!! Yikes, I grew up in the south but conveniently forget how bad it is in the summer!

I'm sorry it wasn't so wonderful for you. I love it!! I would choose to go there anytime. I will not go in the summer months though. Yikes that heat and humidity isn't for me. We went in Dec 09 last time. I was great as we didn't get park hoppers. Since they have shorter park hours then it just made since to do one park a day. The transportation can be a pain at times but we just go with the flow.

I looked at the sizing and I think I must be missing something. It says a 24 is an extra large but when I look at 24 inches...that just does not compute. Yup, I just measured my 6 year old sons chest and it is over 24 inches. What am I missing here? Maybe it is just from one armpit to the other across the chest and not all the way around? That would seem right. Hmmm.

OH, now I see there are two size charts. The second one I looked at made a bunch more sense. Huh, thought I was seeing things there for a minute!

I love bright pink so I am excited for the shirts!

I love bright pink too. I'm too pale so pastel colors look terrible on me (too washed out). Okay, normally I wear black (I was goth before it was even a style ), but bright or dark colors work for me!!

I think it's great though if others don't like the bright colors to find a pink shade that works for them and send that to Mel. Same color, just different shade and still fits in with the group look Everyone can be comfortable then.

The reason I didn't see the women's cut is because SanMar doesn't carry that color in the 5680, so it didn't show in their catalog. I didn't check Alpha - mostly because I have a quick link to SanMar on my browser bar. LOL

Watched Food Network star last night and am happy with the result.

We are headed up to the cabin on the coast Thursday night for Russ' birthday weekend, so I won't be online much between now and then as I scramble to get everything ready for the trip.

Oh, and speaking of trips..... The weather this summer had been GORGEOUS. Part of why I decided to visit DL next week - I've always avoided going in the summer because I get heat exhaustion really easily (that's what happens when you grow up in the SF Bay area, I guess). So, with temps in the hi 70s to mid 80's, I thought it would be great. Weather forecast for the 24th? NINETY FREAKIN NINE DEGREES. Seriously? Ugh. Fortunately, I don't have a ton of must do things on my list - I'm collecting the squished dimes in DCA plus a few new pennies in DL. I want to ride Star Tours. I want to see the summer parade (this might be the only challenge with the heat). I want to ride the Little Mermaid. I should get to the park around 9AM and I leave the Grand at 7PM. Got a cute little white, BREATHEABLE hat to wear. Gonna bling it up a little on the front - if it comes out as cute as I hope, I'll share a pic. It's the same style hat my friend wears when he runs, so I'm thinking it will be good. I have my 70 SPF sunscreen ready. And a bottle with drink mix packets to stay hydrated. I think I can survive. LOL

But now, I am off to MegaWally to do grocery and misc shopping for both home and the trip this weekend. Toodles!

Took the kids to Corvallis today, so they could see where we'll be moving....eventually. Took them to a park that has an old train for them to play on & then went to the pizza parlor Mike worked at when we first moved to Corvallis (before we got married).....still delicious!!

Now home & rearranging rooms again. Gonna give Ty the twins room, so he won't have to share with Anthony, who can't seem to keep out of his stuff.....moving Michayla into Anthony's room....figure Anthony can defend himself against the hair pulling & putting the other 2 girls into the huge room with all the toys. Not how we planned on spending Mike's day off....but it has to be done.

Ty's home from camping & got to lay down the punishment to Anthony & Addy for taking his ipod, taking outside to the neighbors, hiding it, lying about it, etc. Looks like mom's gonna get the most punishment from it....lol

Thanks for the tip! I'm hoping that being a Wednesday after school has started for lots of folks coupled with the HEAT will keep the crowd low at least. LOL

Oh, and when I got the PMS color from my SanMar rep for the Wow Pink, I realized I HAVE something from Hanes in that color already..... A t-shirt "dress" - lounge wear- pool coverup sort of thing. It's not a heinous pink. LOL

I just read on the Disney Parks Blog that Carnation Cafe will be closed during our trip. That's always a popular group meal.
Also closed will be Gibson Girl and the Candy Palace. I'm wondering if the Candy Palace will have a temp. place set up. Who can go home without a stop there? Not me !!!!
