Cheryl, I loved what you wrote about us and Steel Magnolias. Growing up in the south, I really loved that movie.
Can you guess one of my favorite parts of that movie?? The Halloween themed wedding shower!! Big surprise huh?? :rotfl: But the whole movie is really great. I might have to watch that today. And hope I don't cry......

Oh, I'm Team Jacob. LOL
YAY!!!!! :cheer2: :thumbsup2

Here's my wreath.

mymickeywreath001-1.jpg
OMG, that is beautiful! Wow. :worship:

I SOOOOO wish I was crafty :worship: Seriously people like you and AmySue (and Beth with her baking skills for that matter) make me feel so inept!
Um hello, you have mad cooking skills my dear.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting e-mails from the dis that are blank? I have gotten like 5 in the last few days. WEIRD!

Whatcha buy me? Just askin'
That depends, have you been naughty or nice. :rolleyes1

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Take care and I hope today is better for you.

OK now I will show you a few pics of my mom, she passed away on Oct 26 2009 from a rare form of Adrenal Cortical Cancer...
I'm very sorry for your loss. That must have been so hard on you, losing her so suddenly like that. :(

I love all the pics though. Thanks for sharing. My son Adam is also 14 going on 15. His birthday is December 14. I wonder if your son is as addicted to Xbox as my son is! :rotfl:

Okay, so is this just the weirdest scenerio. I don't know, but I still just don't get it. Why they would just let a six year old NOT get on the bus home if they hadn't received any prior notice from the parents.

Good thing Liz called me when she did. If she had called me just 2 minutes later, after the school bus dropped off the kids at our stop, and Luke didn't get off, I would have been in a total panic!
Yeah really. That's nuts. I would have freaked out!!! :sad2:

Morning and TGIF!!

Wow you guys were chatty last night. Unfortunately it was not the greatest night for me. My parents are leaving tomorrow and unfortunately Shane and I kind of had a spat over Lynn.
I'm sorry Kelly. Hang in there.

Hi! (This is so fun! A paragraph about just me:))

I am 43 years old and live in Mukilteo, Washington. I am a native Washingtonian and wouldn't actually live any place else, but I do like to travel. I don't actually get to travel much, but I would like to:)

Growing up we always watched the World of Disney on Sunday nights. I always knew that Disneyland was a magical place, but did not get to go until I was 16 years old. Then, my Grandparents told me they were going to Long Beach to see the Queen Mary, so I hitched onto their trip and arranged a stop off at Disneyland. Still one of my favorite memories, and I have certain attractions that I go on and still miss my Grandpa desperately.

But I digress...I ended up going to college in California for a year and went to Disneyland several times. Why didn't I know about annual passes then??

When my oldest was born, I was a single parent, and rather broke to say the least. But my brother lived in San Diego, and my Grandmother lived in Yuma, so I still managed to get my son to Disneyland for about 4 different 1 day trips. Those were the days of film cameras, and for some reason, I don't have very many pictures from those trips:confused3

When my oldest was 2, I met my Prince. After dating for a few years, we got married just one day before my oldest turned 5. It is hard to believe but between getting settled in, and the court procedure of terminating the dead beat biological father and dh adopting oldest, the arrival of the little one, etc etc, we did not take another trip to Disneyland until my oldest was 9, and the little one was almost 3, in 2005.

Oh, just read again. We did not terminate the dead beat Dad. We terminated his parental rights.:rotfl::rotfl:

2005 was the revamping of my love of Disney with my first 3 day stay at Paradise Pier. We really had a great time, but I am not sure we talked about going back for a while, because we spent so dang much money on that trip.

Fast foward to 2007, and we decided to take a road trip to Yuma to see Gram at Xmas, and the next Disney trip started getting planned. I found the DisBoards, and planned a great trip for way less money. We did the Citipass thing and I was so resentful of the time away from Disneyland. Then my husband got an ear infection, my son had the flu. There was a sprained ankle, and geesh, our short 3 days at DL were practically ruined! So, you can see the seeds were planted for the name "QueenDoOver", but it was a while before it came to me.

I read about the 2008 Ladies Trip but never joined in the banter. They sounded like they had so much fun though. Finally, when they started planning 2009, I jumped on board. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone online before finally meeting everyone in person on the trip. As the time came closer, I found out that we would have our screen names on our lanyards. I did not want to be boring old "trodrigue" any more, so I wracked my brain, and thus "QueenDoOver" was born.

Oh, also planned a Feb 2009 trip to DL with my family and 4 others that was 9 days for us, at the HOJO. We had a fabulous trip and I really had a hard time thinking of a reason to do it over. But as we had annual passes, a reason wasn't really necessary. Just now hoping for one last trip with our passes at Xmas break, and then sadly I will say goodbye for a few years as we take time for other destinations. I will miss my magical place though.

Oh yeah, and I am a Real Estate Broker, and there is nothing magical about that these days! Hubby has been blessed with 20 years at Boeing. My two boys are now 13 and 7, and are really pretty good kids. I call myself a scrapbooker, and love to take pictures, but I am not that good at devoting the time to it. (what time??) We love to camp and the Ocean in Washington is one of my all time favorite places, besides DL of course.

Okay for those who don't know or are new, here's a bit about me.

I was born in 1971, in a little town in......

Nah, just kidding!!! ;) Sort of.

My name is Beth, I am a 38 year old stay at home mom to four kids. My son Adam is almost 15, my daughter Noelle is 13, my twin girls Lindsey and Hannah are 9.
I am married to my high school sweetie. We met when I was 13, started dating at 16 and have been together ever since.

I was born in northern Michigan, but raised in Southern California; Los Angeles, then Glendale, then Burbank, so I grew up going to Disneyland at least once a year. And we've had annual passes several times. We love it. Well, I love it the most in my family, lol.

In 2004 we moved to Michigan to be closer to my family, and that is when I started the first ever DIS ladies only trip to WDW. That was in 2006 and we had about 45 ladies attend. :dance3:

We soon tired of the snow, and moved to Las Vegas in 2007 and since I knew we'd be so close to Disneyland and we were getting annual passes once again, I thought why not post on the Disneyland section of the DIS and see if anyone would be up for a ladies only DL trip. Well, as they say, the rest is history. This group was formed and has been going strong ever since. The February 2010 trip will be our 3rd. :)

Oh and I'm totally Team Jacob and I love Halloween!!! ;)

Good Morning everyone and thanks for the wreath compliments. I know about the Esty site but I'm pretty sure making and selling them is not for me. It took me the better part of 2 days to make it. Each ball is wired on individually and being the perfectionist that I am I kept undoing some and rearranging them until it looked just right - in my eyes anyway. The first thing I do every morning is go outside to make sure no one stole it in the night.

I love all the pics though. Thanks for sharing. My son Adam is also 14 going on 15. His birthday is December 14. I wonder if your son is as addicted to Xbox as my son is! :rotfl:

He doesnt have an xbox but he does have a playstation or something (what do I know im just the mom lol) but hes kinda veering away from that, he just got an acoustic guitar so that is his new obsession...I like that hes teaching himself, he is a great learner and has really picked it up..and the bonus? it sounds MUCH better than hearing rapid-fire gunshots and people screaming bloody murder! LOL

Wow thats cold out!!

Lol!! yES I have a lot of books. Ive read most not all. But I decided about 2 years ago that every author i have a book for I wanted to have all of them. So I buy them all used, rarely to I spend the money on a brand new one. I buy them at the local Goodwills and Thrift Shops, Half.com and the Used Book Stores at the Libraries. I love to read Tween books like the Princess Diaries Series and Twilight Saga, I love books by Janet Evanovich and Sidney Sheldon and etc.

Love Janet Evanovich! I have almost all of her books. I really like Sue Grafton, too. I've been trying to get my books off Paperbackswap.com, but you have to have books you want to swap! Good think my daughters kept some old books. It's really working out well!

Here's my wreath.

mymickeywreath001-1.jpg

Trudy, your wreath is gorgeous! I've been thinking of making one, just with evergreen and no ornaments on it, but after seeing yours I may change my mind!

Ok this picture (if everything works out and my pic uploading skills are ninja-like) is after our nov 08 trip to DL, first night, waiting for ART to pick us up...note the tired mom, amused dad and GRUMPY kids...LOL

Cathy, love your pictures! I understand about your mom, my mom passed away 20 years ago next month; it's hard to believe it's been that long!

Okay, here's me: I'm Stacie (the other one), age doesn't matter (okay, upper 40's), married (the same guy twice), 20-year-old daughter who goes to college at Biola University (about 15 minutes from DL; isn't that convenient (something else said in the best church lady voice)), 18-year-old son who goes to ASU and 14-year-old daughter who is a freshman in high school. I'm a stay-at-home mom who is on the computer ENTIRELY too much during the day (like right now). I actually have a BS in Computer Science with a Math Minor, but once I had kids I didn't want to work anymore. I was able to quit about 15 years ago and never looked back! I love going to DL, which is probably my mom's fault since my grandparents lived in Florida and we would go visit almost every Easter break (before they started calling it Spring break). I'm so glad I jumped into this group, it's a great group of ladies and my other friends think it's crazy that I seem to be so obsessed with Disney, but I know you all understand so I don't have to try and explain it!! :grouphug:

Next!

My Diva bio:

I'm Callie, married to Dan, who runs a graphic design studio from our house. I have three kids: girl (12), boy (9), girl (7). I homeschool them which keeps me pretty busy. I have attended the Diva annual trips for the last 2 years, and have loved meeting all the wonderful women in this group. We moved from Phoenix, AZ to Coupeville, WA (Whidbey Island) in July, and are loving our new rural surroundings and cooler weather. It does make it a bit more difficult to get to my beloved DLR, and I was seriously not planning on making this year's trip. But just this week a killer deal on Alaska Air made me change my mind and I booked airfare! Yea!

I'm an equal opportunity Twilight fan. Give me Edward. Give me Jacob. I want them BOTH!! My favorite ride in Disneyland is Splash Mountain, but not until I have ridden Peter Pan first. Peter Pan ALWAYS FIRST! :thumbsup2

That's it for me. Kids are ready for school so I gotta go put my teacher hat on. :teacher:

This is so fun. Isn't it weird how we have been on these boards a couple of years now and yet we probably never really did this and new that much about eachother? I mean sure I knew beth had 4 kids and Stacielee had 3 but all the "little" details. We all talk but I don't think we ever really knew everything. It is kind of nice to know more about our friends. This was a good idea! :)

Hello Ladies!

Happy Friday! I hope you are all doing well :) I went to Disneyland last night and it was pretty packed. :faint: Almost all the stores on Main Street were packed and had long lines to pay for merchandise. I waited in a long line to buy a big bag of Salt Water Taffy for my aunt for Xmas. lol.

I got some boots from Target recently and "Disney-tized" them. :) Here's a pic:

Well, the only thing I see wrong with it is that he is only 17!!! Taylor Lautner won't be 18 until next February!!! THEN you can claim him! :thumbsup2

I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG ABOUT IT! :rotfl:

Dont worry, my will is strong,,,,I can wait!!!

Ok, I'll go next....

My name is Linda, I just turned 49 and I have worked my whole adult life. I am a HR/Payroll Manager. I live in the Inland Empire but grew up in south OC - my dad still lives in San Clemente. Married to Chris for 20 years (2nd time for both) and I have one child, Brianne. She will be 23 next month and a senior at Cal State Long Beach (she's on the 5 year plan:sad2:). She also worked at DL for two years. DH is fighting lung cancer and our lives have really changed this year. I have been part of the group for a long time and love all the Divas - my life would have a huge void in it if I didn't have these boards and these threads. I love DL so much that last year I bought DVC!:)

Oh, and I have never read a Twilight book and have no desire to. Sorry!

I forgot to tell how old I am.

I turned 40 this year and celebrated in style with the Divas at DLR. Two most memorable events: meeting my boyfriend in person (see my avatar) and dining at Club 33 with a bunch of awesome friends.:love:

Just a quick good morning to all!

Cathy- Love the pics of the family. After reading your post, I think you'll fit in perfectly with the group ;). So sorry about loosing you mom so quickly. She was the same age as my mother. I can't even imagine :sad1: :hug:.

Trudy- I love the wreath :thumbsup2.

Rochelle- I love the booths :thumbsup2.

Man I need to learn to be more crafty :upsidedow.

To all those that are sick (including me), I hope you feel better today . My voice came back so I can now yell at the kids again.

Hugs to everyone else! Hope everyone has a great day .

Happy Friday ladies!

Kelly I didn't know you lived in Arlington Wa??? That's where my sister and her family are now! Gosh I miss them and we all beg and beg them to move back. It was my ***hole brother in law that took them up there. Oh that's another story.

Hope you all have a great day

Yikes! That is cold. It's cold here too. Well, for us. 44 degrees now.
Enjoy your lunch date with Capri. I love Red Robin. Especially their garlic fries. Although nothing compares to pommes frites from DL.

Capri, I need to get my booty in gear again too. I have my exercise bike I got for my birthday. I just need to use it. What a rotten time to try and lose weight! All I wanna do is bake Christmas cookies. :rolleyes1

Vanessa, 250 books? Wow. That is a lot. I used to like to read. Now with four kids, I'm lucky if I find time to read a magazine. :rotfl:

I'm so tired. Off to watch Survivor!! :happytv:

Pommes Frites!!!! :lovestruc:love::cloud9:

Here's my wreath.

mymickeywreath001-1.jpg

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE, WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT!!!

I would have loved to come but we're having a pirate themed birthday for my two youngest kids. Do you ever make butter tarts, they're incredibly easy. Have fun at your exchange!

 Sorry to hear you've had such a rough year, it was great to meet you in October. You have a beautiful family and I hope 2010 is much better for all of you

Awesome job on the wreath!

Have fun with the party, sounds fun! My mom has always made the butter tarts but I may try to make them next year if she doesn't. With the cookie exchange I don't really need to bake any more cookies this year! LOL!
