It's beautiful Trudy! Are you familiar with the website Etsy? I really think that you could make a small fortune if you wanted to try making and selling the wreaths on there.

I SOOOOO wish I was crafty :worship: Seriously people like you and AmySue (and Beth with her baking skills for that matter) make me feel so inept!

See I am being nice by only having people bring 5 dozen! You make butter tarts? So, I am having a cookie exchange sunday if you want to come! I live right over the border into the states from BC! It will be fun!
I would have loved to come but we're having a pirate themed birthday for my two youngest kids. Do you ever make butter tarts, they're incredibly easy. Have fun at your exchange!

I'm just so confuzeled about my life :upsidedow.
 Sorry to hear you've had such a rough year, it was great to meet you in October. You have a beautiful family and I hope 2010 is much better for all of you

Here's my wreath.

Awesome job on the wreath!

:scared1: Good grief, can't a girl go shopping all day long without y'all wracking up 8 pages of posts???? :

Whatcha buy me? Just askin'

I'm back from Disneyland and it was a pleasant visit. I rode Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion Holiday and the Disneyland RR. I spent a lot of time in WOD and found some cute gifts for Anais using my fun card. Now I'm back home and going to small group in 15 minutes. I still have the headache I've had since 2pm :headache: I'm going to take some ibuprofen and hope it goes away.

For some reason, this struck me as funny. Pleasant is such a bland word...so understated to describe a trip to DL. Is DL becoming so commonplace that you would use a word like pleasant to describe it?:)

I feel your headache, and fear I can top it. My migraine ebbed, and now it is back. Ugho...squirrely stomach.....good for weight loss, but have held nothing down all day. (not that Ihave really eaten anything). SO, now I will get a hunger headache on top of my migraine on top of my...no caffiene because I am vomiting headache.

Whine enough?? Tomorrow will be better....It is Friday after all!!

I never really did an intro so here goes...

I'm 33, and happily married to my high school sweetheart. We have 3 amazing kids, who are are all miracles after being told I'd probably never get pregnant. My oldest is 9 and he's a great kid who would rather read than play any sports. My second is 5 and is one of the sweetest little boys you could imagine. My daughter is turning 4 this month. She can be girlie one second then rough and tumble the next. She's braver than the boys by far!
This will be my first Diva trip but I was lucky enough to meet a group of the ladies in October. I didn't have time to chat with everyone but they were all very friendly and I felt like part of the group immediately:)

gorgeous!!!!!!

Ok girlies--I have been working on this dang lease document for the last four hours!! That's the bad news--the good news is I get paid by the hour! LOL

I am taking Mom to DLR this weekend--this is the weekend I have my GC villa that I forgot I had waitlisted. I have so much to do and really shouldn't be going but oh well, what ya goin' to do, you know?

I'll intro myself briefly to the newbies:

52, unmarried (sigh--never found Prince Charming--just a lot of frogs), no kids, have a 9 month old Corgi named Bella and a three or so year old Siamese cat named Raja. I'm a real estate lawyer. Besides Disney, I am active in a group that provides scholarships to single moms who have gone back to college (mostly at Irvine Valley College) and a Red Hat Society group. I don't have a lot of spare time--I've been broken up from last boyfriend for almost a year exactly and I can't remember how I ever managed to fit him into my life! Oh and men come and go--but girlfriends are forever!

I use pleasant because it really was. I guess I could also use relaxing. It was just a happy trip and I felt much better afterward. It really lifted my spirits.

Its really nice to meet all of you and hear about your lives, you all seem so busy but are still thoughtful enough to pop in once in awile and check on your friends :goodvibes

I'm going to try and post a few pics so you can see who I am and maybe one or two from the trip I took with my mom in September :-)

be patient with me! LOL

Ok this picture (if everything works out and my pic uploading skills are ninja-like) is after our nov 08 trip to DL, first night, waiting for ART to pick us up...note the tired mom, amused dad and GRUMPY kids...LOL

OK now I will show you a few pics of my mom, she passed away on Oct 26 2009 from a rare form of Adrenal Cortical Cancer... We didnt even know she was sick until she went to the Dr on Sept 4, they did a cat scan and found a tumor in her abdominal cavity that was so big it totally took over all her organs, by the time she passes a month and a half later it had gone up her spine and into her brain. She was 54.

Please excuse the poor poor poor quality of my camera, its on my wish list for christmas :santa:

Any of you gals in the northwest want neighbors? Callie?
Always room for one more diva in the northwest, but I have to tell you I have yet to see Callie. She is "on island" you know!

Please excuse the poor poor poor quality of my camera, its on my wish list for christmas :santa:

Great pictures regardless Cathy. I love the one of the kids sleeping. Nothing like a day at Disney to induce that kind of sleep. I can only imagine what I must look like.

Cathy: Wow, great pictures! Love that picture of you, your mom, and your sis at the Blue Bayou. That's a great one! I don't know why, but you and your mom look SO familiar to me.....like I know I've seen you before. Seriously.

BTW - I have that same #28 Minnie Mouse t-shirt. :thumbsup2

And I also have a son named Luke. :goodvibes

Hmmm have you ever lived in Calif? we're originally from Napa?!?! We've never been up to Washington except to Yelm to help my great grandmother move, but that was like 7 years ago!?! dunno...strange though!

Good morning babes! :cool1:

Trudy: That is a GORGEOUS wreath!!! :thumbsup2

Well, I think the house is ready for my mom and dad to come home today. All I have left to do is stock up their fridge and pantry and little, pick them up at the airport, help them get settled and unpacked, and make dinner for them.

So yesterday afternoon, around 3:27pm, I was waiting for the school bus to drop off the boys from school. All of a sudden the phone rings:

Hello, Mrs. Sexton?
Yes, this is Mrs. Sexton.
Hi, this is Liz in the school office.
Oh, hi Liz.
Was someone supposed to pick up Luke today?
Nooooooooooooo.
Well, Luke said someone was supposed to pick him up, so he didn't get on the bus to go home. Maybe we can try to run out there and catch the bus!
Ummmm, the bus is going to be here in about 2 minutes, so I'm pretty sure it left about 10-15 minutes ago.
Well, we need someone to come pick up Luke.
Tell him to cool his heals in the office and I'll be there as soon as I can.

Okay, so is this just the weirdest scenerio. I don't know, but I still just don't get it. Why they would just let a six year old NOT get on the bus home if they hadn't received any prior notice from the parents.

Good thing Liz called me when she did. If she had called me just 2 minutes later, after the school bus dropped off the kids at our stop, and Luke didn't get off, I would have been in a total panic!

And poor Ryan. He didn't even realize Luke wasn't on the bus until he got off the bus, the bus drives away, and Luke didn't get off. A concerned look set in his face almost immediately.

Morning and TGIF!!

Wow you guys were chatty last night. Unfortunately it was not the greatest night for me. My parents are leaving tomorrow and unfortunately Shane and I kind of had a spat over Lynn. She has been living with mom and dad since the Oct trip because A she prefers it and B it just makes it easier on everyone. Well since they are going to be gone for a week they don't trust her at the house alone and she needs rides to work etc so orig she was going to come back here and stay for the week but my mom did not think it was a good idea and Lynn did not want to either. Shane was the only one who thought she should but now that he got his re-test date he is going to be out every night till 8 or 9 studying. So I told him that maybe it was a good idea if she DID go ahead and stay with her friends again (she did that while we were in Truckee over Thanksgiving cuz she had to work) and he got mad. Then on top of it I have a tooth that is bothering me and gave me a nasty almost migraine. So mom came to pick me up for the christmas party and I told her I didn't feel up to going and then SHE gave me the major guilt trip so it was NOT a good evening. Lynn was supposed to start at a school to get her GED but she claims it is full and she can't get into the army without it and we all think she is lying again. It has just been really stressful. But anyway enough of that!

Anyway for the newbies I will introduce myself, I am Kelly, 42 and I live in the Sacramento area as well. I am married to Shane who is 36 (yes I know I married a baby LOL) and he has 3 kids and we have 2 together. The oldest lives with my parents and the other two live with their moms. And then OUR two are Katy 10 on the 31st and Shelby who is 8. I work part time at my mom's real estate office as a book keeper and Shane is a tile setter but is studying to become an electrician as we speak. I am a HUGE disney fanatic and we try to go at LEAST once a year. Our lives pretty much revolve around the girls as they are on swim team, soccer and girl scouts. That keeps us VERY busy. Think that is about it about me. :)

Callie and Trace I would LOVE to move back up there. I moved to Arlington, WA in 95 and then in to Marysville for almost a year while DH worked in Seattle and I worked in Everett. Then he got transferred to Portland, OR and we moved to Vancouver, WA. We lived there 2 more years before we split and I moved back to CA and he moved to Montana. I absolutely LOVED It up there and hated to move back here. BUT I had no choice. I couldn't afford to stay up there by myself. I would LOVE to go back someday but don't know if it is in the cards. I really miss being able to drive up 84 to Hood River and see the falls or out to Tillamook or Longview and see the ocean! Plus I loved going to Pike's market or Old Seattle when I lived up there! We still go up and visit every so often!

Cristabel I am glad you had fun at DL! I wish I could just go for the day sometimes. I agree what better place to lift your spirits!! :)

Anyway I have to go in to work today and get the rundown of what I need to take care of while mom is away which I am NOT looking forward to but alas it must be done. Hopefully things will stay somewhat status quo and no deals will go amuk while she is gone. Then tonight the girls have Girl scouts and then tomorrow my uncle is coming to pick up his boat that has been sitting in our yard for at LEAST 10 years (as long as we've lived here) and prob longer and then Katy has her first indoor soccer game. Then Sunday I am taking Shelby to that birthday party. So busy busy weekend.

Anyway hope everyone has a GREAT day and again welcome to the new gals and I look forward to getting to know you better and hopefully meeting you soon!!! :)

I knew I would forget some stuff.

Trudi I LOVE that wreath! You are VERY talented and I agree with whoever said you could prob sell those! AMAZING!!

And Cathy love the pics! I am so sorry about your mom! What a terrible shock that must have been. It looks like you guys were really close. I am glad you were able to have that last trip together! What a special memory!! I am so sorry for your loss!!

Good morning ladies!!! :)

You can always send the cookies to me :rolleyes1
I'd love to send you some! I love getting goodies in the mail. So much nicer than getting bills, don't ya think?

I saw on the news that our high temp on one of the days is going to be 17 degrees! :cold:
 Yikes!! It's 31 here now, so definitely snuggle under the blankets kind of weather.

I love to read Tween books like the Princess Diaries Series and Twilight Saga, I love books by Janet Evanovich and Sidney Sheldon and etc.
I have managed to find time to read the Twilight books. My daughter is hooked on those!! She has like 26 posters in her room. :rotfl:
