Sorry I haven't been around in awhile. It seems like I never have free time anymore. I'm at work all day and then my daughter has horse lesson twice a week and my son has football practice everyday for the month of August for 3 hours every night :scared1: (who's idea was it for him to play football :rolleyes1 ). And somehow I got recruited to be the head team parent :scared: . I didn't realize how much work it was until I read the manual. I may have to resign  .

My sons team is actually very good. They made it to the semi-finals last year (which is in Vegas, so I may see you in November Beth ). But my son is trying sooo hard since he wants to make it to the finals at Disney World :rotfl:.

Oh and by the ways ladies, I had my ultrasound last Thursday and:

Now about all these activities you and your kids have going on....aren't you supposed to be resting with your feet up? ;) Yeah right. LOL Seriously, don't work too hard. You're a good mom though for doing all that. :)

Good luck to the team too! I hope you make it here and to WDW!

Ok and now to CA........I LOVE IT HERE!!! :dance3:

The weather is absolutely fabulous in Southern Cali, fabulous. I have been here one month and DH flew out in May and the weather is the same every single day. Bright sun, never ever rains, no humidity, no bugs!!! :cool1:

We are NOT leaving any time soon.

OH and the BEST PART OF ALL...........DISNEYLAND is 15 minutes away from ME!!!! :yay: :dance3: :yay:
LOL I'm glad you are liking it in SoCal. What did you think of the recent earthquake?
Having DL 15 minutes away from me would make me pretty darn happy too. :thumbsup2

It was like seconds that felt like hours!! :sad2: Just hoping that does not happen again any time soon!! :headache:

Do you believe DL is down the street basically BUT we have not been yet. :guilty: We have been to DOWNTOWN DL 2x (for dinner) but not the Parks. DH is working allot!! We hope to go before August is out. ::yes::

Aw, what a welcome to CA that was huh??? I'm sorry it scared you. They can be scary, although they never used to bother me until the Northridge one. That was bad. Hopefully that will be it for awhile. And consider it a reminder to make sure you all have some sort of earthquake preparedness kit.

You haven't been to DL yet?? Tsk, tsk, tsk. ;) Nah, it's hard moving! You'll have plenty of time. I'd love just being able to hop over to DTD for dinner! How cool is that?? :yay:

Congratulations, Kate!
:lovestruc it's a girl! :lovestruc

Thanks Chris :flower3: .

I've been meaning to post sooner, but I just keep getting side tracked. And yes I should be resting. My back hurt sooo bad on Sunday I was almost in tears. We had to cut school shopping short since I couldn't take the pain anymore.

And I'm a little scared because this baby is very, very active. She is constantly moving. The Ultrasound Tech was having a hard time taking pictures and getting measurements, because she wouldn't stay still. Also, I'm a very light sleeper & she wakes me up all the time because she'll move around and wake me up. I was hoping for a mellow baby but it doesn't look like that's the case :sad2: .

Oh everyone and I mean everyone out here talks of the "Northridge" earthquake....those that went through that one had a little reminder of it after this one happened. Not very good memories for many. :sad2: Were you in Cali for the Northridge earthquake, Beth?

Yes, so many East friends emailed me earthquake safety literature and I am doing my reading to prepare. DH is applying for his CA P.E. (professional engineers) license but he needs to take courses on Seismology before he takes the exam. ::yes::

Ya, even just being in DTD is AWESOME!!! I just love walking around and looking at all the stores.

First of all, congrats on the baby girl! I'm assuming all is well and she's healthy? It will be fun to buy little girl clothes!

If your DS makes it to semi-finals in Vegas, count us in....the family (or at least DS's and I) will make the trek with you, if you want us. I always love an excuse to go to Vegas! And, that's a good time of year to go. And, it's an added bonus to support your DS, too! Finals at WDW, huh? Now that would be great!

Katie! Congrats on the news that you're expecting a little princess. Hope you're feeling ok -- make sure you rest and take it easy as much as possible. This summer has been killer hot!

First-timer to your group here and would love to join some fellow Disney-lovers. Count me in for the mini meet-up on October 17th if there's room!

 I'm sorry. Ah, the joys of pregnancy. I hope the remaining months go smoothly for you and you're able to get some time for yourself.

Yep, I was. I lived in SoCal since I was around 7 so I grew up there.

We'd had a few minor ones so I always thought they were no big deal. When the Northridge one hit, we lived in Glendale so we were about 30 minutes away. We lived on the second floor of a condo and it shook hard. Woke me from a deep sleep and scared the crap outta me.

At the time I worked in Sherman Oaks (which is bordering Northridge) as a manager of a Motherhood Maternity store. I went to work that morning not realizing the mall was completely shut down and had suffered some major damage.

When they finally let us into our store about 2 or 3 weeks later, it looked like someone had picked it up, shook it like a snowglobe and set it back down again. Everything was trashed. Shelves, clothes, hangers, the register, everything. There was a long and wide floor to ceiling mirror in the store and it had fallen away from the wall and glass was everywhere. If I'd been at work, who knows what would have happened. It tooks weeks before we were ready to reopen.

I never took earthquakes lightly after that.

Anyway, on to a happier subject! Thanks for sharing the pics from DTD!!! Did you save me a cupcake?? Those are my favorite desserts, next to cheesecake that is. ;)

Have you tried the bread pudding at Jazz Kitchen? It's really good. :thumbsup2

Hi pirategirl! pirate:

Sure, there's room! I'll add your name. And welcome to the DIS! I see this is your first post. :)

Were you thinking of joining us in March as well or just in October?

Congratulations, Katie! Okay, not to scare you or anything, but my third was my most active, and she still is (she just turned 13 in July). She is my high-maintenance one, and I'm thinking she'll be my challenge (and she is most like me!). If I had her first, I probably wouldn't have had anymore!!

Thank you everyone for all the congrats  .

Sounds like a great idea to me :thumbsup2 . Believe it or not, I've never even been to Vegas :scared1: .

Thanks for the support  . But actually my son was/is the same. As a baby he NEVER slept and was a ball of energy (and he's still the same). He actually started walking at 7 months.

Welcome to the group . I look forward to meeting you.

Am I the only one going through serious Disney withdrawals right now??? :(

I don't know what it is.....I just want to be there right now.
