Beth.... i think it's a girl thing.. to always hope for their to be a special present under the tree on christmas morning. My Father is so special.. He was a police Lt. for over 35 years.. and every year he would work overtime just to buy a little piece of jewelry for my mother and me. He would have them wrapped and then hide them in the branches of the tree on christmas eve..so christmas morning they would be there. There is this little girl part of me that every year secretly looks around the branches on christmas morning for a tiny box.
I gave my husband this christmas trip with his parents and our grandchildren. And He is going to give me the girls only trip with my mother and i. I may get a bottle of wine and some cheese, crackers, olives and chocolates for christmas evening after everyone goes home..maybe a movie.. and let that be a secret present.

For some reason i always get a little sad on christmas afternoon after all the presents are opened and the family dinner is eatten, and everyone goes home. It's like.. okayyyyyy.. now what...:rotfl:

Well, I'm finally back among the living. I am delivering the last orders of candy tomorrow, and now I can finally enjoy the holiday season.
BTW, the final grand total for pounds of toffee I made since Thanksgiving is........................................................................................................................................................................................................................542!!!!!

That was really sweet about your father. What a nice tradition. :goodvibes

I know exactly what you mean about Christmas afternoon. I really don't like Christmas Day for that reason. I prefer Christmas Eve. It's much more special and everyone is still full of excitement and anticipation. :)

542 lbs?????????? :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

And yet, none has shown up at my door. . . :confused3 :rolleyes1

Glad to hear you're officially done with candy making. That's gotta be a huge relief. :goodvibes

Well I said I was leaving but Shane hasn't gotten home from work yet so I am still luuuurking ohh ha ha. Thanks Daisy and Beth but it really isn't all that bad. Honestly I have had these migraines since I was 18 so I am totally used to them and this bladder thing I have been dealing with for a few years now as well. I am just glad that I am FINALLY getting something done about it. It took my stupid doc a year to finally get me a referral to the uro but now I have some meds that are REALLY helping me sleep through the night so I am not up every 5 minutes and as silly as that sounds that is HUGE because before that I was not getting ANY sleep and that right there means a lot and I think this surgery will help too and then he said he will most likely put me on yet ANOTHER type of medicine as well for the daytime. And this rib thing is temporary (I hope). So no worries.

It is not as bad as it probably seems. I am used to it. I think the worst part is just feeling like I can't do a whole lot because I might be down with some sort of ailment. But luckily it hasn't affected my Disney trips. It must be that Disney magic. ;) Most times I don't have any problems and I am hoping for the best for March!! :)

Plus I want to get all fixed up cuz I want to lose another 10 to 20 lbs and since I've had all these dumb things I haven't been able to workout in a few months so as soon as the holidays are over and I am feeling better I want to get back on the wagon and shed some more weight! I am anxious to give it a whirl!

Anyway NOW I am hopefully going to get off of this thing. See ya later! :)

Beth - wow on the snow in Vegas! It's been cold and rainy here all day. Love it! My kids are all bundled up in the winter hats, gloves and mittens and have been playing outside a lot today. My mom says it's snowing a ton in Durango, so we're excited to get to sled and stuff when we go up next weekend.

Heather (fairycat) - congrats on the pregnancy! Love your tree pic. So pretty.

Cheryl - sorry to hear about the break-up. Hope you're doing better with it as each day passes. Sorry, not gonna mention names (mostly because I can't keep up with this person and her multiple screennames). Now that I know who she is I know better than to take her bait.

Kelly - wow, I feel for you and all those medical issues you have to deal with. Makes me feel very blessed that I haven't seen an MD in over 5 years.

Cristabel - love the pic of your doggy by the tree. Too cute.

Todrique (why do I always forget your real name?) - You know how jealous I am of your view of Whidbey. I can't believe there was snow on the south end! My dad is calling and begging to come to warm up in Phoenix - he says it's too cold there.

Stacerita - the mardi gras tree is fun!

Oh shoot - I wanted to post more, but I gotta fold more laundry before dinner. I'll try to come back later.

Well, it is NOT snowing in Henderson although I live like 10 miles from Beth, and I have to tell you that I am just as relieved that it is only raining rather than snowing where I live. However, this did help finally solidify my case for leaving Saturday afternoon and staying in Victorville that night rather than leaving at 6 am on Sunday morning for our Disney trip. I had booked a room yesterday night, but I think Dave now totally agrees that it was a good idea.

Congrats Heather on your exciting news!!! We took Ty for his first visit to DL at age 7 weeks, and I probably would have taken him even sooner if we lived just a little closer! It totally changes how you tour the park to have a little one with you, but it is SOOOOOO worth it! We will probably ride the King Arthur Carrousel 20 times next week instead of the multiple trips on Indy, Soarin' and Space. But, you also get to use child swap, which helps expand your FP collection as you only need one FP per ride--so if you and DH each get one and you use child swap it becomes a kind of two for one dealio!

I had a major project due at work today and I was also waiting for recommendations from the search committee as to which candidate my colleagues would most like me to hire. So, it was a busy day and now the rest of the week is just a few details to get ready for next semester. Luckily the search committee and I agree on the top candidate--now we just have to get HR to approve it and then make an offer later this week. If the candidate says yes then I just have to start prepping the orientation process--so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I hope that everyone has an enjoyable evening. I was hoping to take Ty to see a big Christmas light display on the other side of town tonight, but due to the weather that is NOT going to happen. So, I guess it will be an evening of listening to Dave snore on the couch as he claims to be watching the football game, but I know better--he is asleep. Married life can be so glamourous, can't it?:rotfl2:

It must be that Disney magic. ;)
Well, here's hoping for lots of Disney magic in March. For you and all of us! pixiedust: We don't want anyone sick or in pain on our trip. :)

I love the cold and rain too! We have to relish in it while we can. Those 100+ temps will be back before we know it.

Hi, I was wondering if you or Amy got any of the snow. When I was on the Strip it was just raining. And Ruben said down at UMC there wasn't any snow at all.
It wasn't until I was about half way home that I started to see it turn to flakes, but nothing was sticking. Then when I got home, all the yards, trees, roofs, etc had been turned into a winter wonderland. LOL (I'm just waiting for Ruben to put the pics in my photobucket so I can share them. I don't know how to do that. haha!)

I got many more cards!!! Such cute ones too! I got them from Tracey, Stacie, Shelley, Linda, Audra, and Theresa. Love them ALL. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Also Theresa, if you read this, I love the sparkly lime green Mickey head you put in the card. What a nice touch. :thumbsup2

Hi there! Be careful out on those roads. I do not miss the icy roads at all. What a hassle to drive in.
Ouch on the tire price! I'm sorry. I hope it doesn't effect March. :( You can't miss out again!!

Yeah, it was hard on our wallet. I am just glad we had enough money to pay for them. After Christmas shopping and tires, our bank account is dry.:headache: At least we get paid on Friday! I am not giving up on the trip yet...tax return time is right around the corner.:wizard:

I feel the same way on Christmas...I want to drag it out for at least another day. We spend so much time preparing for it and in just a few hours it is over...well the party portion of it is.

Well, I'm finally back among the living. I am delivering the last orders of candy tomorrow, and now I can finally enjoy the holiday season.

Wow, that is a lot of candy! What a fun job that must be: to make candy!

Well, at least you had the money for it. We have no savings so when stuff like that comes up, we usually have to charge it. :headache:
And I'm glad you aren't giving up!!!! I want you there darn it! At least once. :wizard:

Stacerita... Your hair color is really pretty.. what conditioner do you use? it looks really soft and shineY.

Thank you. I use Wen hair care. The sweet almond mint cleansing conditioner, deep conditioner and styling creame. I love their stuff.

MommaU4 I figured as long as I can walk the park we are going!! My good friend took her little one at about 1 month, but then her DH works at DTD so it's a bit easier for her hahah!

Having a Ap means its just a day in the park in the end and a perfect time to take a ton of pictures of the little one in all the wonderful Disneyness!

Thank you! princess:

Congrats!!:woohoo:

What a cute couple! :goodvibes You both look so happy!

What a gorgeous tree! I could never be that creative. :rotfl:

My doctor also prescribed me Topamax, but when I went to go get the prescription filled, they said it would be $300, so I declined and said I would deal with the pain for free.

Thanks Wendy. We are both pretty happy.

I'm not that creative either. Just something about Christmas trees and I become freakin Martha Stewart.

As far as Migraines.....I have had them forever. Last year I had one that lasted about 6weeks. Docs thought I had a tumor or something so I ended up going through tons of tests. Turns out, I was just stressed. Good luck.

RALPHIEEEEEEE!

You can put your arms down at school.

Jen, your tree is beautiful! It has an old fashioned look about it which I love. And that pic of your DS with the Santas is great! :rotfl: Some of those Santas look kinda cute. :rolleyes1

Anyone ever seen the movie Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore? We own it, and I watched it the other day. Now I've got that song, Pop Goes My Heart, stuck in my head. It's catchy in an annoying way. :cool1: Reminds me of Wham, which as an 80's girl, I totally loved!!
