That sounds nice. :)

I liked staying on property, we stayed one time at an All Stars and another time for the ladies only trip I was at Coronado Springs. But with six people, getting a condo with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, full kitchen, washer/dryer, etc for under $400 for the week was just much easier. It was actually at the Sheraton Vistana and not far from WDW at all.

It's hard to travel with a family of six no matter where you go. Driving from CA to MI and then from MI to NV was so hard! All the hotels have gone up in price, and we'd either have to rent two rooms or get a more expensive suite. It's just tough with a family larger then the traditional 2 kids.

The mini meet is probably the one we are doing here in Vegas. It's myself, Amy (bigskyernurse) and Jane (Cheshiregirl). We all live in the area, so we thought we'd meet up for some shopping and lunch. If anyone's in Vegas on November 16, feel free to join us! ;) Oh, and did you see the Vegas trip being planned for next June?
I can't remember who's posted there and who hasn't..... lol

Well, I hope you all had a good weekend!

Thanks for the info!
I totally understand how it is to travel with a big family. We are a family of 6, so it is always 2 rooms, which can be a pain. We traveled this past summer in a group of 16.....:scared1: ....that was just scary at times, especially when some of my family is a bit decision challenged. We could have sat around all day trying to decide what to do....LOL

I'm looking forward to my trip to the World with the girls next month!! :thumbsup2

Good Morning! :surfweb:

It's not even 7am here, but I can't sleep in any longer. *sigh* Sometimes, I'd love to just be able to sleep in.

Planning this trip reminds me of CKU (anyone here know what I'm talking about or been to one?). I went back in my scrapbooking days (2001 I think). Well, 600 of us scrapbookers met up at a hotel in Indy for a weekend of fun. We had door decorating contests, games, a variety show, all kinds of fun. It's like camp, but better. I can't wait to get to know you all better.

Question: I've seen a couple of really cute/nice signature thingys that proclaim your excitment for this trip. Where do I get one? I'm horrible about updating my sig. I had a Boo from last year, and never brought him out this year.

Warning! Pic Heavy!
Here are some of my pictures of POR at WDW. These were taken in 2003. I like to think that they have updated the rooms since. I know they were redoing the FQ rooms during this stay. ETA-Just a little trivia. We visitied WDW this trip on a special close to what is offered now. We paid for 4 days, but got 7. This was an Sept-Nov special at that time. It also was the same time Mickey's Philharmagic opened, and we got a framed lithograph and pin showing Donald busting out of the tuba witht his package. It was very nice!

I'm going to start out with pictures of the rooms in the Bayou section since this is where you have the rooms that can sleep 5.

This is me showing how sturdy the tv cabinet is by leaning on it. I guess I was adding human interest to the photo.

This is the boat dock. You can catch a boat here that takes you to DTD. It's a nice 20 minute ride that takes you past the old Treehouse Villas (If they're still there), and the driver tells you about the resort's history. You ride past the FQ, and he told us how they manage the alligators in the area. :scared1:

That's about it. I lost all my pics from when we stayed on the mansion side for our wedding. I just realized that they are gone. I did get them printed, but am sad that the files are gone.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my flashback to 2003. :wizard:

I started reading New Moon today around 1pm. I finished at 8pm.
7 semi straight hours of reading.

Now I need eclipse!!!

I just started Eclipse yesterday.

I read the last two books in pdf form on the computer. I swear I took my laptop with me everywhere during that time. I just finished Midnight Sun, I've never been so disappointed to finish reading something, ever. . . I really, really hope she changes her mind and finishes it because hearing Edward's side of the story is just so yummy. :lovestruc  :cloud9:

Where are the PDF files?

Heather, see how fast that worked out! You've got a room and a potential ride! :thumbsup2 I told you this is a wonderful, friendly group of ladies. And we will all be happy to show you the ropes around DL. :wizard:

Cristabel, lol, I'm glad you were able to get both books for such a great deal!!

Vicki, well shucks, I'm sorry to hear you might not make it in March, but that's great you'll get to go to WDW. :)

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday so far! Anyone else's kids have days off this week? Mine are all off on Mon and Tues.

We only get Tuesday off.

Howdy!!!! :wave2:

I'm looking forward to my trip to the World with the girls next month!! :thumbsup2

Yeah, we're letting her come with us. I'm calling Jill the straggler. She's coming a day later than most of us. From the April trip it is Dagny, Lauren, moi and the straggler. Also our friend Tracey who couldn't make it to DL but really wanted to go.

Keep on chatting!! It gives me something to read every day.

I just renewed my AP! Now I'm all set for the girl's trip in March! :woohoo:

Yeahhhhhhhhhhh Miss WendyLouWho has her AP for the year!:cheer2:

OK, so you know how hard it is then. I don't know why hotels think all families are two adults and two kids.
A group of sixteen sounds like it could definitely try anyone's patience!!! LOL

I can't wait to hear about your trip to WDW. :wizard:

600???? OMG. I've never heard of CKU, but I'm not a scrapper so that's probably why.

You can try putting one of these in your sig if you'd like:

I did!! Thanks for sharing. It looks like a nice place. Not crazy about the gators though!!!
I never could understand how people go in summer to WDW. It's so hot and humid. We went once in May thinking it wouldn't be so bad and ugh, it was around 88-90 each day and we'd be dripping the minute we stepped out of the hotel room. Even the shade didn't provide relief. :sad2:

HAPPY MONDAY !
I don't think those two words belong together. ;)

Well, we are glad you are still stalking us even though you can't come.

I'm so jealous that you went to a CKU. I've always wanted to go but they tend to sell out so quickly. A couple of years ago I did go away to 'scrapbook camp' for a weekend. I loved that and was planning to go every year but the lady sold her home that she held it in and her business went away with the sale of the home (it was a second home she kept just for sleep away scrapbook camp)

Hi!

Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Sheryl. Can't wait to read about your WDW trip.

Hope all is well with everyone. My oldest was off today and is off tomorrow as well. I had to work today but I'm off tomorrow.

Thanks for the sig bling! :cheer2: It can be unbearable in the summer. I usually go for the Halloween party or Christmas party. Also, late April is not too bad, and the flower and garden festival is the closest thing to Disney heaven for me.

We are recent transplants to Tucson. DH and I are both travel nurses from the east coast. We are moving back in 2010. So, we need to get our fill of the west coast while we are out here. I can't wait to get to DLR!

Hi Steph!

When I lived in Michigan, we had a scrapbooker retreat like that. CKU was a blast. It was very hard to get into, and certain classes filled up in minutes. I then obsessed over watching for spots to open. I went with my HS BFF, and we still ended up with 3 classes not together. It was fun to meet all those people! The had a page design contest, and I won one of the categories! It was my 15 minutes of fame. My layout was published in one of the Creative Keepsakes magazines, and I won a HUGE gift bag full of all kinds of scraping goodies.

Sadly, when I left Michigan, I left all of my scrapbooking friends behind. I have never been able to do it since. It makes me sad and I miss those fun times.

OKay, Twilight gals, what does it mean when I read Team Edward or Team Jacob?? I've only read the first book so I'm confused. Does Bella end up liking Jacob? Isn't he much younger then her?

Hi Steph....I have some friends that go to CKU every year. It sounds crazy, overwhelming and fabulous! LOL
A few years ago we went to a scrapping weekend getaway in Running Springs that was amazing. The cabin slept 12-14 and had an entire room downstairs set up for scrapping. We had a blast. A great friend of mine is the owner of The Scrapbook Garden in HB, so check out her store if you are ever in the area...and tell her Jill told you to stop by!!

I'm team Jacob, so that way I get Edward to myself! :rotfl:

In book 3, things start to make sense about the whole "Team" thing, just keep reading. ;)

Oops, I meant to multi-quote. :rolleyes1

I know! My friend says he wants to take me to Disneyland for my birthday in January and now I'm in total instant plan mode. I don't know if the Jan. trip will happen, but if it does, I'll be completely prepared! :rotfl:
