Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Afternoon.

Molly good to see you although I am sorry things are not going well for you! ((hugs))

I too have the transformers ad. There are SO many good movies coming out. We have talked about how many we want to see but alas can't see them all. We end up missing half of them and waiting till they come out on dvd it seems. In fact I think there is one at the video store now that just came out that I have to go check out but right now there is still so much on tv and with us going to swim every night I haven't had a chance to go. Right now it is pretty much just the weekends that I rent and that is going to get hectic too once the meets start cuz once we get home we are usually trashed. But at least for now we don't have practice on fridays and we want to see Star Trek, Transformers, of course the new Harry Potter and oh about a bunch of other stuff that I can't think of but I know there is a ton. Terminator I know is one too!

Anyway the other exciting news is mom got our tickets today for D. C. so our trip is officially on! So now I really have to get moving on what the heck we are going to do when we get there. We got a bunch of maps and a tour book from AAA on Monday but it is so scary and nerve wracking going some where you have never been before cuz I am not sure which areas are ok to go and which aren't. I have a BUNCH of books but still it is just overwhelming all the info. I wish they had sites like this one where I could ask questions. I asked me friend that lives in Pennsylvania as I am pretty sure she has probably been at least once (they travel a lot) so hopefully she can give me some advice and mom has a friend who goes a lot on business. So our next order of business is getting a hotel that is priced decent and "safe". THEN I have to make our itinerary. There is just SO much to see and do there and you can't possibly do it all in a week!

I am excited though to finally get to go. I have been wanting to go for years!

Anyway about to pick the girls up here in a few. They said it was going to be 85 here today but it is a bit windy today so not too bad yet. I am glad. Although this wind is playing heck with my allergies. Gotta love it. ;)

Have a great birthday celebration! :woohoo:

I felt awful last night when I stepped outside and felt the heat and the wind - and I'm way way east. It is just the worst conditions for fire right now. So sad.

Thank you! I'm stuffed now. :goodvibes

Where in So Cal are you at? I hate the winds, especially when it's hot. Ew, it's so gross.

Too much is going on right now, and talking about it is not what I want to do. Nervous times, though, nervous times.

 I hope everything gets better, Molly.

Now for my questions... For those that attended this past year, did you like the itinerary tags? Did you use them? Would you like to see more listed on them? Were there items that you didn't like on the tags? I'd like to do them again and wanted to see what you all thought of them. For those that didn't attend last year. I made tags that had a basic overview of the times tours started, our meals that were scheduled on here, scavenger hunt.

I'm thinking this time I will start earlier in creating them and would like to add some things such as, park hours (maybe), shirt color for each day, and anything else we get a concensus on. I also plan on laminating them this way the ink won't run for those that go on water rides or may have a spill.

steph

Steph, I loved the itinerary tags. I referred to them ALOT!! They were very helpful. Shirt colors, park hours, that would be great to have as well. And I would be willing to pay for them, too.

I see Best Western... (they probably aren't that good... but so weird they're showing a lot of them)

I've got a "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" ad. Does the computer read my mind? How does it know I have two Transformers crazy little boys?! :confused3

I've got the Transformers ad as well. WEIRD!

Well, we're back from lunch, picked up Christine from the airport this morning, and I only cried a little bit. Lots of hugs though. Of course more for BF!! Just glad to have her home where I can feel like I have a little control, even though I probably don't. Now we get to make plans for Disneyland next week for her 20th birthday - can't believe she won't be a teenager anymore!! I'm getting OLD!!

Courtney, PM sent to you.

Afternoon.

. ;)

ST is supposed to be great - everyone is loving it! I want to see HP and Terminator too. Transformers I will skip, I didn't like the first one (I know, I'm one of the few).

Molly, I'm so sorry you are having stressful times:hug: i hope that they get better!:wizard: It's good to see you post again.. we missed you!

CheryL... did you go to the Spain Dinner last night? How did it go? What did they serve? Did You have Fun?

Hugs for Beth just cuz:goodvibes

Steph.. I keep my little card you made me in my purse all the time. Thank you for being so thoughtful!

Molly-- from me too.

Dawn--I didn't go to the Spain dinner. I'm going to France and Italy--I have no interest in Spanish food! (Unless it's Mexican-style)

 I'm happy to hear that she made it home safely! We never have control but they let us think we do! Have a great time at DL celebrating her birthday! I'll be with my almost no-longer-a-teenager too next Sat. in Denver for her BD. She asked if we could go to her favorite resturant which I had already planned to do but she requested we go early so she can then go to CSU to see some of her high school friends. Kids!! ;)

I'm probably older than you!!:goodvibes

I have a WW ad also.

I can't wait to see Harry Potter.
Ghosts of girlfriends past was so funny!!
I have no desire to see Star Trek, not my cuppa tea.

Molly~ I hope things look up for ya pretty soon.

I hope everyone is having a good afternoon.

Ok, I'm coming out the blue and asking, is Magicale a white or red wine?

If it is wine :lmao:

Thanks :thumbsup2

Cristabel--it's a sparkling red wine (like a champagne)--and it's very sweet and yummy--quite addictive!

I got it in the dessert wine section at BevMo.

You got Magicale? Or Rosa Regale?

The last I heard Magicale was ONLY available at the Disney resorts, but if it's available at BevMo I would be one happy girl!

Hi All! I made it home safely. I only have a minute. I'll be back tonight after the kids are in bed, Josh is going to see the new Star Trek movie.

Anyway the reason I was asking about the tags was so that I could have time to find the best card stock. I'm thinking each day's schedule would be in the color of the shirt. I also need to find coordinating brads (for those that scrapbook). I won't be printing the actual schedule until the week before (in all probability). I was asking what everyone would like on them so I can cut the tags well in advance (last time I was doing it 2 days before...:rolleyes1). I just wanted to make sure I cut the tags big enough to fit the information that the group is looking for. Which brings me back to the cardstock and making sure I get enough of it.

As far as payment goes, I don't want or expect any $$$. I enjoy doing this type of thing and most importantly it's my way of thanking you all for being you all....not sure if that makes sense... Long story short, I enjoy coming on here daily (okay sometimes several times a day) and 'talking' to you all about what's going on in my life and hearing about what's going on in your lives.

Steph the tags sound great & it's very sweet of you to do those for everyone!!!! I always have an itinerary with me when we go (keep it in a small photo album in my backpack) so having the girls trip with times & locations will help keep us newbies in line!!!!!

My bad, I meant Rosa.

Welcome home, Steph! I think I said it before, but I think the tags are a great idea.
And I agree with you, I love coming on and checking in with my girls! :grouphug:
