Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

There was a house down the street, very similar to the one we are renting, four bedrooms, three baths, two car garage, and it went for $160,000. This is a really nice area too.
I can walk the girls to school, there is a park near by, Target is a few minutes away, along with lots of restaurants like Mimi's Cafe, PF Changs, and the Cheesecake Factory. Plus we are close to nature areas like Red Rock, and yet only about 25 minutes from the Strip.

And we are only about 4-5 hours from Disney! (3 if Amy drives!) Also the locals discounts for entertainment are amazing. We haven't paid full price for anything since we moved here.

You're making me want to move there!

Hello Everyone

Hope you all are doing well. I'm glad that it's finally going to be Friday. A lot of good movies come out.....I definitely want to see Wolverine. Hugh Jackman is kind of HOT!

My DH went to see the midnight showing last night. He said it was good but wished they had gone a different way on a couple things. I agree about Hugh Jackman though, very hot!

We are home from the surgery center and I am happy to report that everything went very smoothly and very quickly. We got there at 6:30 and his surgery was at 7:30. The doctor was out to see us by 7:45 and Ty got discharged at 8:05!

Everyone is a little tired now so we'll just be taking it easy for the rest of the day...

Thanks again for everyone's support as I geared myself up for today. Ty was a rockstar and it was as easy, breezy as I hoped it would be!

Jane, thinking of you and your family...I am glad to hear it went so well and hope that you all get rested up!

So I have some good news to share...I'm a happy mommy. DH came through and is taking me and the boys to DL for Mother's Day! I'm such a lucky mom and wife. C ount my blessings everyday I do.

Lucky duck! I will be in Reno over Mother's Day with my one bff staying with my other bff. I haven't been to Reno in years (would rather be in DL!) but I am stoked to get away and to get to see my friends and be away from home and work and kids and responsibility for a while. Hope you have a great time in DL!

Today is my last day of another 13 day stretch. They tried to get me to work tomorrow too, but that would make it 19 days in a row, or 33 out of 34 days of working. I just couldn't do it. I need some rest! It reminds me of Father of the Bride 2 where both the wife and daughter of George Banks are pregnant and he is working, taking care of them, taking his son to camp and making trips to the hospital when the girls have false labor and he is so tired and Fraunk (Martin Short) tells him he needs his rest and gives him two of those pills. Then after George takes the pills and falls asleep the girls go into labor and they can't wake him up...Fraunk finds out he had both of them and says he normally just has a half of one and taking two is like saying "bye bye george see you next thursday!"

LOL Kelly your story just had me laughing. That poor girl....sounds like he kinda lost his man card when he dropped to his knees and held onto her legs.

So I called it a week and stayed home again today, can't remember if I said that in my first post. I went back to bed and didn't get up until noon. I had to pick Ayden up at 12:45. I'm in so much pain today grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!! Oh well, Advil has been my friend.

As Kelly said it's pourrrrrring down rain here now. Tonight Chris and I are having a "date night" once I get Ayden in bed. We haven't had any "us" time in so long so we're making sure we commit one night a week to each other. We were thinking of just renting a movie. Hopefully one day we can have a date OUTSIDE of the house.

Oh, Deb....It is just so fresh and yummy! The patties are small, so they aren't all beefy and greasy. Fresh lettuce and tomato, toasted bun.....Oh no, I think I'm going to have to make an in-and-out run now! Luckily there's one just a couple of miles from here.

As Kelly said it's pourrrrrring down rain here now. Tonight Chris and I are having a "date night" once I get Ayden in bed. I am off at 4 as well...it is such a pretty day out...I am ready! Vacations are important...I can really tell when I haven't had one in, oh, say a month! I used to go all the time and now I am lucky to go once or twice a year. I know, it sounds like tons to some people, but when you are used to every month it is a HUGE difference! Good luck planning your get away!

I would make a run too except that I am 2 states away from an In-N-Out burger. My DH may have an issue with me going from the Canadian border to the middle of California for dinner.

Oh and about the In & Out...I agree with what Tina said, it's just fresh and you can taste the flavor of the burger and the condiments without the taste of GREESE!! I love the animal style burger!!! hmmmm Only thing it's missing is mushrooms! Their shakes are yummmmy too!

So I just checked the mileage from Reno to Disneyland, just in case it was feasible to go for the day with my friends...it is not. I just can't see driving 500 miles each way just for the day. Bummer

Its raining here too. I went to get an oil change and they said it would be an hour so I walked to the book store in the rain. I didn't mind because I love walking in the rain when it isn't cold. I am so glad I did because I ran into my favorite customer from the camera store I used to work at before the company closed it with one day's notice *ahem*. He's an amateur photographer and simply delightful to talk to... so positive and intellectual. I haven't seen him since November so it was great to see him again before I move.

I was bummed they didn't have any Disneyland books to help pass the time but I got a great mother's day card for my mommy!

On a different note, do those roll over minute commercials with the neurotic mother bother anyone else? I can see how the son would be bothersome, and the mother's behavior was acceptable in the first one, but the newest one where she's in the car is just plain old annoying. It makes my skin crawl. I feel like it always comes on during the channels that I DVR.

On a different note, do those roll over minute commercials with the neurotic mother bother anyone else? I can see how the son would be bothersome, and the mother's behavior was acceptable in the first one, but the newest one where she's in the car is just plain old annoying. It makes my skin crawl. I feel like it always comes on during the channels that I DVR.

I can't stand those rollover commercials!!!! I love the Sprint ones (gosh I think it's Sprint) when you see the bars in every scene. I always liked the one where the dad went on a trip and sent the daughter pictures of her toy at all the places he went to. Now it's the guy and girl where he takes a picture of her and she doesn't know hes there. I'm a sap. If you look though...theres something in every scene that shows those bars out of something. It's addicting, it's like hidden mickeys LOL

Afternoon all. I am home from work and it is raining like crazy! So I rented 4 movies! Bride wars, two scary ones, One called Blindness and that one with the two girls who have the crazy stepmom. I forgot what it was called. Plus Bottle shock (the wine movie) and one more I am forgetting at the moment. So we are set for the next day or so. I told my mom I don't plan on going outside for the next two days!

I have to go pick up the girls and we are going to pick up a pizza but otherwise have NO plans to leave the house unless absoultely necessary!

Right now I am listening to oldies on you tuble while typing this. Tears for Fears Everybody wants to Rule the World. Ah High School Memories!

Speaking of cell phone commercials... I like the new AT&T touch pad commercial just because Journey's "Any Way You Want It" is playing. I LOOOOVE Journey!

My absolute favorite one is the Sprint Speed one with the squiggley lights just because I'm a photo nerd and they look like long exposures. The one where they draw out flowers and boats as it gets darker outside on the neighborhood curb.

The one with the daddy traveling then coming home made me get a lump in my throat too! Those smart advertisers!
