Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

We are home from the surgery center and I am happy to report that everything went very smoothly and very quickly. We got there at 6:30 and his surgery was at 7:30. The doctor was out to see us by 7:45 and Ty got discharged at 8:05!

Everyone is a little tired now so we'll just be taking it easy for the rest of the day...

Thanks again for everyone's support as I geared myself up for today. Ty was a rockstar and it was as easy, breezy as I hoped it would be!

Glad to hear! I remember our first time having Ethan have that done. Freaked out, and by the time I went to the restroom it was all over! He didn't even cry. We did, though!!! After getting an ear infection a couple of years afterwards, I was so happy that we had it done, as it's painful. The few minutes that he was uncomfortable was so worth it. He's only had one ear infection since then. Have a nice cuddly day today. Big Hugs.

Hey Jane...call my cell if you have any problems or need anything. If you don't get me on my cell...try the ER direct..they can usually find me. It is 629-1211.

Hope everyone is having a good week. I'm sorry I've been absent from the boards. The Swine Flu scare has made my life a living H..E...double hockey sticks.

Jane--So glad that the surgery was easy peesy lemon squeezy. Here's some wishes for a smooth and speedy recovery!:wizard:

Amy-Oh my! I don't think I'd want to work in an ER now (nor ever, but that's another story...) Is the problem with the worried well? Or actual swine flu? I just don't know what to make of all this hullabaloo. I don't want to not take a pandemic seriously, but also don't want to get too worried. Why exactly is this swine flu worse than normal flus that are going around all the time?

So I have some good news to share...I'm a happy mommy. DH came through and is taking me and the boys to DL for Mother's Day! :yay: I'm such a lucky mom and wife. C:lovestruc ount my blessings everyday I do. :teacher:

I'm glad everything went well. I was thinking about you guys this morning! :wizard: What a relief!

As for me... still working on the thesis paper. Chuggin' along :hourglass:bored::snail:

Jen! My Mom and I will be there on May 9-10 too--where are you staying? And Linda will be there as well. We should get together!

I also don't know about this swine flu thing--everything I've heard leads me to believe it is getting blown out of proportion . .. . . .

Jane so glad Ty is all done and it went well! I knew it would but it is always scary until it is over!!

I went in and did my bloodwork and had a different phlebotomist then I usually do and she blew right through my vein and I have pretty easy veins. Sheesh. I have done MANY blood draws and it is not that difficult. I was just shaking my head. She backed it up and got it but still! So now I have a big old hematoma on my arm. UGH!

Anyway then I went out and the Longs that I go to has a Barnes and Noble next door and this paramedic lady came out and this guy was with her and he was arguing with her. It was obvious he had done something to REALLY tick her off. I had parked kind of by the ambulance where she was and they stood out there and I was watching for a second cuz it was hilarious. He got down on his knees and was hugging her legs and she was kicking him away and he kept like begging her and she kept pushing him away. I don't know WHAT that guy did but she was majorly po'd! And meanwhile the other paramedic was in the ambulance just reading his newspaper LOL!

So I got my daily drama fix! LOL Anyway now I am at work just waiting for mom to get ready to go to lunch.

The girl scout meeting for tonight was cancelled due to rain. YAY!

So tonight we are probably going to get pizza, watch ghost whisperer and I think I am going to try and rent Bride Wars!!

So that's bout it for me. :)

Jane~ Good for Ty for being such a trooper. I'm glad everything went smoothly and quickly :thumbsup2.

I think it is getting blown WAY out of proportion. Just my opinion though.:)

You know, I never even heard of the Swine Flu until Tuesday. I went to my sisters house and she was going on and on about it and I looked at her and said "I don't know what you are talking about".

See what happens when you don't have a computer for awhile, you loose touch with what's going on in the world .

I don't watch the news because it depresses me so I usually just look at the hot news topics on the homepage of my computer and read only what interests me.

Bride Wars is so funny!! I love it!!
The quote in the movie totally reminds me & my BFF of each other!!

Me too!

Kaeleb woke up coughing and he swore he had the pig flu!! :rotfl:

Nooooo, not Phoenix. Come here! :cool1: That would be so awesome. Right now the houses are cheap. Who knows what they will be in 18 months. :confused3

There was a house down the street, very similar to the one we are renting, four bedrooms, three baths, two car garage, and it went for $160,000. This is a really nice area too.
I can walk the girls to school, there is a park near by, Target is a few minutes away, along with lots of restaurants like Mimi's Cafe, PF Changs, and the Cheesecake Factory. Plus we are close to nature areas like Red Rock, and yet only about 25 minutes from the Strip.

And we are only about 4-5 hours from Disney! (3 if Amy drives!) Also the locals discounts for entertainment are amazing. We haven't paid full price for anything since we moved here.

As for teachers, I don't really know. I know they are making cuts in school programs, but not sure about actual staff. :confused3

Hola!

We have early release today!:banana:I am stoked!

I hope you all have a fantabulous day!

You can live in CA! Lancaster, CA has homes for 130k! I don't know about teaching positions but you could always commute via metrolink :goodvibes And you are maybe 2 hours from Disneyland and we have In-n-Outs but cheesecake factory would be far for you.

Yes, but California schools are laying-off teachers big time.

As much as I would love for January to move to Southern California, the job market is no good for teachers here.

Friday the 8th at Hilton ($59 hotwire--can't bare to spend a lot when we'll be getting in so late anyway)
Saturday and Sunday at GCH

So when can we meet for our Magicale??:hyper: I'm open to whatever meet option. I'll have to do some juggling with the DH and kiddos, but I'm sure something has got to be doable!

Here's a picture of my lil heartbreaker tonight!

What a cutie!

There are both In-n-Out AND Cheesecake Factory here. Several of them, actually! :thumbsup2

I know of a great house that's for sale in the heart of Arcadia (a VERY popular area in Phoenix, as it is at the base of Camelback Mtn., with historic homes, and has awesome schools). But dang, I don't think the seller can wait 18 months! :headache:

Seriously, I wouldn't wish Phoenix on my worst enemy. It's HELLA HOT here!
I was waiting for the hard sell!

Hope you all are doing well. :) I'm glad that it's finally going to be Friday. A lot of good movies come out.....I definitely want to see Wolverine. Hugh Jackman is kind of HOT! :teeth:

Tomorrow is my boyfriend's birthday. The time has flown by so quickly! :faint: I got him a pair of jeans, Puma sneakers and a Jamba Juice gift card (we are Jamba Juice junkies! :teeth: ). I ordered a birthday cake for him, which will be ready on Saturday. It will look like this:

The only difference is that it will be royal blue and the inside will have vanilla cake with vanilla cream cheese mousse and strawberries. I hope it tastes as good as it sounds.

His family is throwing together a BBQ to celebrate. It's also his cousin's daughter's 16th birthday so we decided to celebrate together. :)

I hope you all have an awesome Friday! :smooth:
Sounds like a fun weekend, and that cakes sounds awesome!

I came yesterday and had a package at my door.
It was from Abby, Jordan's step mom. Inside was a little note from Joey, Jordans little brother & he colored me picture! So cute!
Abby sent me a Mothers days present.
~ $25 GC to Starbucks
~ $25 GC to Olive Garden
~ purple nail polish, a mixed CD, the new Rascal Flatts Cd, Peanut Butter M&Ms, Reeses minis, a GC for a massage.

I love this girl! I am so thankful that Jordan has such a great second mom in his life.
After the crappy week I have had, it was nice to get a little pick me up.

I hope everyone is having a great Friday!
How nice is that!

We are home from the surgery center and I am happy to report that everything went very smoothly and very quickly. We got there at 6:30 and his surgery was at 7:30. The doctor was out to see us by 7:45 and Ty got discharged at 8:05!

Lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just trying to catch up on client emails, menu planning, laundry, etc today. We're supposed to go to the San Jose Giants game tonight, but I'm not sure if that's happening with this weather. It's fireworks night, but it's so rainy and windy, I'm thinking the whole thing will be cancelled. Oh well, we'll jsut have to move on to plan B, whatever that is................
