The the Swiss Village Cheese Factory! I remember going there as a kid. That place makes some goooood cheese, man. The squeeky cheese is so good! I love the sqeeee sound it makes when you bite into it. So yummy! I am not sure that place is even around anymore. It is out in the sticks. I never go that way these days.

I couldn't remember the name. I thought it was Cache Valley, but that is in Utah.

I think Melissa Rivers talks sh** about celebs for a living on E!. She is a winner. Not.

Car payments are the debil! When we got our SUV we were making 3x more than we are now. We struggle to make our payment every month. I cannot wait to get rid of it.

He played Fiyero. I think he was actually the understudy for the night since on the Playbill they have him as someone else, but they gave us an insert saying he would play Fiyero for the night. Maybe they didn't give him enough notice and he didn't have enough time to warm up??

He started off strong, but as the night went on his voice started cracking. And during the duet of "As Long As You're Mine" Elphaba was carrying the song. My DD says I'm too critical, but that is one of my favorite songs of the play and I was really disappointed.

That is a bummer--but the times I've seen the play I was unimpressed with the actor who played Fiyero too--and I don't think any of them were Adam. (One was African-American and don't remember the others). I think they find the most awesome actresses for Glinda and Elphaba, but the others are just so so. The two women always were the standouts.

Thanks to everyone who sent good wishes my way... we leave for the hospital in just about 12 hours, so it will be an early bedtime tonight.

Today was busy, but good. I'm just counting down the days until finals are over and my schedule frees up a little bit. Then I'll be able to keep up with the daily chatter!

On a sad note, my BFF's grandma died today. She was in her 90s and had been sick for quite a while, but it's still sad for the family.

We just got a new student from Las Vegas. She is so cute. She went to Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School. She wants to move back to Vegas. I can't say that I blame her.

Debra...I recall that you were having issues with your lit class. I took that class a few quarters ago. I hated the poetry portion. Alliteration, imagery, assonance, rhythm, and all that crap, haunted me until I was finally free. I have always loved Lit. but that class kicked my butt. I got so confused...which is normal for me. Hang in there...it will be over soon!

I can walk the girls to school, there is a park near by, Target is a few minutes away, along with lots of restaurants like Mimi's Cafe, PF Changs, and the Cheesecake Factory. Plus we are close to nature areas like Red Rock, and yet only about 25 minutes from the Strip.

And we are only about 4-5 hours from Disney! (3 if Amy drives!) Also the locals discounts for entertainment are amazing. We haven't paid full price for anything since we moved here.

As for teachers, I don't really know. I know they are making cuts in school programs, but not sure about actual staff.

My certification will be from Arizona. So....

But our options are open. Dh graduates 3 months after I do. His degree is in software engineering. Where he gets a job is where we are going. He will be making FAAAAAAAAAAAAR more than my piddly teaching job. I can't wait to not be poor! lol!

OMG, you poor thing. I had a kidney stone once. It was a about three years ago, I woke up early in the morning with the worst pain in my side. I thought I was dying. I went to the ER right away and was in so much pain. Worse then labor pains!!
Luckily they gave me some pain killers and it actually passed while I was in the hospital. Teeniest little thing. I could not believe that's what was causing such excruciating agony.

I know its crazy! They all make me feel like I'm dying in a sense, but the ones that literally make me 100% convinced that I'm actually dying are the ones that are too big to pass on my own. I've actually gone into shock from the fever and pain. Even the best poet with the best muse couldn't describe the horror of that night in words. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. I was at my parents house and refused to let them take me to the hospital for some reason. They're doctors. I wasn't thinking clearly. I was able to go to sleep with lots of chemical aid and woke up the next day feeling absolutely fine thinking "what the blankety blank just happened?!" One week later to the exact hour, while they were on an airplane to Florida, it started happening again. I drove myself to the hospital IMMEDIATELY. I was smart that time. All I had to do was say "history of kidney stones" and they let me admit myself. It actually took a boatload of pharmaceuticals to even put a damper on the pain too its sad to say. The last resort was dilaudid (sp?) and that finally worked after the morphine and the toradol didn't. They stuck me in a CT scan and found a 5-7 millimeter stone, which is apparently a big one. After invasive surgery, a 2 day hospital stay, a stint (my worst nightmare!) for 2 extra days, a horrible infection from the stint.... I realized the hard way that it was not worth trying to be brave. There is brave and there is stupid.

Pain is pain. What is sever for one person can be just as severe for someone else for something classified as something generally less severe. I can sympathize with gall bladder stories as well because my parents remove them for a living. They're general surgeons. They do aaaaaaall kinds of crazy things one would never even imagine possible. I was completely amazed when they told me they took someone's entire esophagus out and pulled their stomach up into their neck and hooked it back up again. I guess if your small bowel stretches forever why not?!

What a long day.....
tonight was Ayden's Spring Showcase at his school. They sing and show off a bunch of art. The performances were really cute. Made me miss teaching even more. I'm beat and have a pounding headache so I'm off to watch some tv and hopefully get a good night sleep. I unfortunately have to go back to work tomorrow. I'm dreading it.

There are both In-n-Out AND Cheesecake Factory here. Several of them, actually!

I know of a great house that's for sale in the heart of Arcadia (a VERY popular area in Phoenix, as it is at the base of Camelback Mtn., with historic homes, and has awesome schools). But dang, I don't think the seller can wait 18 months!

Seriously, I wouldn't wish Phoenix on my worst enemy. It's HELLA HOT here!
