I have fibromyalgia too and it REALLY bothers me during season changes.
For my kidneys, my doc gives me a couple of things for it. One is potassium citrate. It's a supplement that I take twice a day, but if I don't drink an abundance of fluid constantly it isn't guaranteed to work 100% of the time. I also take a diuretic for high blood pressure so I'm sure that might affect the absorption of the fluid ? (doctors, nurses or nutritionists?) Another is Toradol (sp?) I can only take it if I feel like I'm dying and for 5 days max because it'll give me stomach ulcers if I use it for any longer. The other is loritab. I have chronic pain and have to take extremely low doses of it frequently, but if I have to take more than 1/2 of a tablet per day the list of side effects are lengthy and include but aren't limited to drowsiness, forgetfulness, being a complete idiot, moodiness, and becoming an erratic grouch. It also makes my tummy hurt if I take it a lot. It works miracles though in times of desperation.
I'm done boring you all with my medical mumbo jumbo.
On a happier note... I'm finally back at my apartment! *huge sigh* I can finally sleep in my own bed without two dogs trying to spoon me from either side. Down side: I have no groceries and my maintenance required light is on in my car because I need an oil change. That'll have to wait until tomorrow. So that was an excuse to order my favorite pizza! I got a 12" cheese, green pepper, roasted red pepper, and feta with red sauce and a salad with a 6 pack of sprite! Now if you'll excuse me, I have some delicious business to attend to at my dining table!![]()
I have fibro too-have had it since I was 18. A LONG time--before most people even knew anything about it. (cause I'm OLD) We'll have to start a sub-thread of Divas with Fibromyalgia . . . .
