Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Stacie!!!!!! Help!!!!! I bought some hair color, and am now afraid to use it. Can you drive down to help me?????????:rotfl:

I am afraid I will look like Ronald McDonald, I bought dark auburn.

Please reassure me!!!!:scared1:

AmySue

Well, I wish i could reassure you--but I never color my own hair because I am a color weenie--and I never change--same color, same stylist--I like knowing what the outcome will be.

FYI--the kitties LOVE the little cave thingie you got them. one gets inside and the other attacks from the outside--then they switch off! thanks again!

Worry wart is me as well! Too many bad things in the world anymore. The recent incident in Tracy, CA proved that to me. I have a friend that can't even take her kids to the grocery store with her without getting a babysitter. There is someone watching them morning noon and night for EVERYTHING she does. I sometimes wonder...why have kids?

I have an acquaintance like that. I don't get it either since I am so the opposite!! My DH and I go on "dates" occassionally, my DD will stay at our local YMCA for cheap babysitting, and we find that we have no interest in partying all night....go to an adult movie, grab a quick bite, then we can't wait to pick the kid up!!

My DH thinks it's because we are older parents...maybe!! (I had my DD when I was 39, he was 37). Who knows.

That said, we now have no trouble leaving her with the other on a whim!!!!

I went to a 4 day conference when she was 18 months. I cried most of the time!!!

Sentimental woman, I guess!!!:sad1:

Oh, and when I say "adult movie" I mean one that isn't rated G!!!! Often the "R's" are a bit too much for me!!!

Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhh!!! I am going to look like a freak show!!!

I am so glad they are having fun. My cats completely party with it several times a day. I sometimes put catnip in it....seriously BIG fun!!!!

AmySue, other wise known in the future as...Carrot Top!! (if I get the courage to dye the mop!!):scared1:

AmySue

very glad you clarified that--just sayin'

Wow, nothing like monopolizing the thread and talking to myself there!! Good news I have to step away from the computer and read another chapter to my DD before bed.

AmySue

R movies make me blush. Too much nakedness.

Stacie-I forgot to tell you...my Nana would make tacos with teeny chopped potatoes and carrots with ground beef. She would also cook cilantro with the ground beef. They were so good!:cloud9: Old Mexican women know what they are doing with ground beef. She would make the best stuff!

sorry I have to look like I'm paying attention in class.

hahahahaha I was starting to think maybe this group is too riskay for me!!!!!
JUST KIDDING!!!:lmao:

:wave2: Good evening Ladies! I can't believe it but I think I finally caught up!:woohoo:
I am exhausted today. My five year old's special ed. class went on a field trip to the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. I think he enjoyed the bus ride more than the museum. :confused3 Luckily I didn't have to ride in the bus. Instead I had a nice peaceful car ride to myself.
It is just hard taking him anywhere. He never stays in one place for more than 10 seconds and needs to be watched every second. It just gets overwhelming at times. :sad2:
American Idol is about ready to start!:yay:
Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

I saw Giada at the Festival of Books…darn I can’t remember the name of the recipe that she demoed, it wasn’t salmon! But the Mustard Glazed Salmon sounds wonderful! I am a huge salmon lover and would love to have the recipe!
Well the salmon was OK, but I have had better. My DH Dave said the same thing.

Thank you Melody.... we probably did meet at the Dole Whip gathering..... I'd be the one that looked lost......
:rotfl:

I actually did take a picture of the pie but I will be so busy once I get home I really doubt I will get to post it...There were 8 apples in it so it was a huge pie....and now it is a gone pie...I brought it in to work!
Well that is a shame. :sad1:

So I guess being off for a few days wasn't such a bad thing...I completed my TR and got all my Photopass pictures up. WOO HOO!!!
Woo hoo! Now I need to take the time and check it out! :thumbsup2

Sarah, you are right, it's not good for you. I don't want to sound too preachy, but between the risk of skin cancer and premature aging, it's not worth it. I used to go to the tanning salon daily for a half an hour each time! This was of course back when I could wear a bikini and thought I needed to be tan. Now I WISH someone had stopped me. I worry all the time about skin cancer and I'm getting so many wrinkles and sun spots.

They have made wonderful advancements in those spray tans. Have you looked into those? Just a thought. I care about you so that's the only reason I mention it. Hope I didn't sound too much like a bossy "momma".
I totally agree with you Beth!

My DS is turning 4 in two weeks. When he turned 3 he went from Angel to his present monstrosity of a self like a switch being turned on...I am praying for it to be tuned off the day he turns 4...he is just such a terror right now. Doesn't listen to a word I say.:sad2: where did I go wrong.
He is just being a kid that's what. But just remember you are the boss........he's not! I think that happens to alot of parents. They try to be too nice to their kids, and it backfires. A parent is parent first, and then a friend. I believe it is the hardest job out there.
Yikes.........now I'm being preachy too! :sad2:

Thanks, I am trying. I don't want to bring down the thread again with all my mommy drama but I am just at my wits end. I keep thinking back to when my DH and I were trying to decide if we wanted to have kids or be DINKS (Double Income No Kids)...did we make the right decision? I just don't know. I hope they end up ok and I hope they don't kill anyone in the process.

I've never heard the term DINKS..but I caught myself daydreaming after reading that. I would probably be at DL once a month then.
I'm sure they will end up just fine....and so will you. I don't care what anyone says...parenting is the toughest job there is!
Amen to that sista!!:thumbsup2

LOL
Right now I am dealing with the terrible 14's with my son. He's a good kid, not a trouble maker or anything, but he's got a sassy mouth on him. 'Course I have no clue where he gets that from. :confused3

:rolleyes1
:rotfl:

I have no clue how many calories are in there, but it's delicious.
ALOT!!:cloud9:

I was a travel agent for 5 years too but I had a baby so I wasn't able to travel every month but I did get away as much as possible!

Kids - They DO grow up and you WILL live through it even though it's hard to imagine right now! And when they leave to go to college you'll cry and your house will be so quiet and you'll be waiting for them to call you and you'll wonder where did the years go...really you will! Hmmm...wondering when my college age daughter is going to call??
Really you will!

Good afternoon everyone! :goodvibes

MouseAdventure was so much fun! Lil Churro was an awesome mascot. :cheer2:
Hi Ya Wendygirl!!

I hope you all had a good day. I'm exhausted. I've been up since 2 am. I have yet another cold but with pink eye (thanks to all of my kids who had it this past week).

I probably won't be on later tonight, hoping that I'll be asleep. I hope you all have a nice evening. Talk to you all later.

steph
Have a good sleep Steph! Hope that pink eye and cold go away soon!

I know this isn't Disneyland related, but I had mentioned my photography before and my stress about an upcoming photo shoot Sunday night. Well I have the results and thought I'd post a sample. No bugs flew up my nose like I had feared. I overdosed on bug spray!

I had to photoshop some of the neighbor's lights out but I'm overjoyed with how they turned out. Bless my friend Monica for helping me out! We'll see how they print!

control004.jpg
What a gorgeous picture! Nice job and the lighting looks beautiful and very mysterious. :cool2:

Melody, I am interested to know how this went. It sounds wonderful only I don't know who Paula Dean is... Bobby Dean sells couscous or it's a recipe?

That photo is much hard to achieve than it looks. The way you have let the background go to pure black... the wonderful echo of the light of the dress and the pinks in the foreground balanced out by the yellow-green in the background and in the flowers. The figure (you?) is both feminine and haunting in the dress but goddess-strong with her muscles and stance.

Amazing job. :cool2:
The salmon recipe was just OK. The couscous was yummy if you like couscous. It had feta cheese, chopped green onion and chopped tomatoes in it. Very tasty. Paula Dean is one of the most popular celebrities on the Food Network. She is totally a southern lady with a big time southern drawl. Her favorite staples are butter, mayonaise, and sour cream. :scared1: But her recipes are delicious...........how could they not be with all that good stuff in them.

Sometimes I would like to swap my kid :scared1:

:lmao:
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sarah---I know how you are feeling with the no motivation. I was that way before the ladies trip. I didn't care that I weighed over 200 and that I was pre-diabetic. But the ladies trip pics changed the way I saw myself. It was eye opening to see how big I had really gotten. I was 100 pounds heavier than when I graduated highschool in 1995. I decided I HAD to do something. I am glad I did. You will get the motivation--if getting a new look will motivate you, I say go for it! YOU deserve it.
Good advice lady!

Good evening ladies. I'm just popping in real quick to say hello.

Computer is still down. I'm at my sisters now checking all my internet stuff.

Man I feel like a crack addict trying to get my fix. It feels like forever since my computer worked and anywhere I can find a computer to use, I jump at the chance .

Hopefully my computer will be fixed soon and I can be a part of whats going on again :headache:.

I'll talk to you all again as soon as I come across another computer to use .

I'm here trying to survive my negotiation & conflict resolution class.
It is the bane of my existence.
Aw!

I do my own hair all the time. It will be just fine. Just don't leave it on longer than suggested!!

Big hugs to you Becci!! I'm glad you were able to take a little break in the car. Take care and enjoy AI tonight!

Good evening ladies. I'm just popping in real quick to say hello!:.
Hello Katie!

Well ladies I scored big with Chris tonight. I had a nice dinner ready for Chris when he got home from work. I made lemon chicken, squash and rice. Since I have barely been moving he was very surprised. I had even less pain today and hoping for even less tomorrow. WOO HOO

Luckily I do get to stay home one more day with Ayden tomorrow. You honestly couldn't tell the kid was sick today...he was bouncing off the walls and just started the antibiotic today! His dad came over and spent some time with him this afternoon. He finally showed some interest in the fact that I mentioned we had a court date coming up. I was surprised to get a letter in the mail saying they were holding him in contempt of not paying child support. After 3 months of no payment through DCSS (Dept of Child Support Services) he's being held in contempt. That shall be interesting. I'm not sure how he's going to explain to a judge that he's been unemployed for over a year now but can still make his rent. Those under the table jobs will bite ya in the end. :rolleyes1

I'm off to spend some time with Chris...and hopefully he'll start to doze off so I can steal the remote and watch American Idol that I'm recording.

Talk to you wonderful ladies tomorrow :):grouphug:

Maybe that should be brought up to Beth...she can organize a kid exchange for the Winter! lol :lmao:
:lmao:

Thanks for clearing that up. 'Cause ya'll know where my mind went. :sad2:

That's how I would be. I'd go nuts without my computer.

Aww, that's great. Good for you. :) And yes, those under the table jobs for dads like that are only trouble in the end.

I'm tired! Gonna make a bowl of ice cream and chill with the tv. Night ladies.

You will be fine. Just follow the directions. Its easy squeezie! Don't do it with a bunch of worry and stuff. Its hair. If can be re done and grown out. Have some fun. Dark auburn should be fine. Do it, color it, own it! Trust me. Being a kitchen magician isn't as hard as you would think.

Im glad I just forwarded out my project to my instructor.

Its only hair. And you guys know how much I love mine. Have some fun with it.

You got that right. Old Mexican women know their stuff. And they don't need recipes or anything.

my Mom is not an old Mexican woman but her tacos and tamales are da bomb! (of course, she learned how to make them FROM old Mexican women!)

Its only hair. And you guys know how much I love mine. Have some fun with it.
That is how I feel. But I never do my own. I let Amber or Brit decide on color, length and cut. I am like its only hair, it will either grow back, I can change the color & it will grow out. I have plenty of hats. :lmao:

They do, don't they!! My friends MIL, she is AMAZING!!! She can whip up something out of nothing. Now if I only had that ability!

Think outside the box, that is the trick!! I got certified in by Conflict Resolution Institute after taking a series of courses, and thinking outside the box, and figuring out what the sides REALLY need got me high marks and praise. Good luck!
