Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Are we thinking Ariel's on Thursday for those who come early like last time? And then a whole group (or as many as we can) character meal Sat? I want to do both Storyteller's worked out great, I loved how we had our own "wing" kindof. As much as I love Cafe Orleans, I felt we were really squished in there last Oct for the mini-meet and we only 17. I agree that Rancho would be perfect for a lunch or dinner, too because of all the open seating. And their food is pretty good. And people can share and/or split meals.

I agree about Cafe Orleans. In Oct we felt squished. When we went in March, we were at a long table, so it was hard to talk to everyone.

This is WAAAAY if topic, but I was wondering if there are any Divas within my genre (or otherwise) that want to go to the No Doubt/Paramore concert with me in Irvine this summer? I'm DYING to go and I'll probably end up going alone. No Doubt was just on AI that's why I just thought of it and the tour comes to Indianapolis on the day I start school in California. Ironic.

I love No Doubt. They are my fave band ever! I would love to go see them in concert. I am quite older and not exactly your "Gen", but still love No Doubt just the same. When I was younger, in college, I used to go to dive bars (with my fake ID) and back yard parties to watch them perform. Way way back in the day. Funny thing was, James used to set up the stages for them, but we never ran into each other. But yeah.

Of course we did, Capri. We just figured you were crusing all around town in your new car!

We have been to Los Olivos. We stayed at a really cool hotel there with themed rooms. In fact, it was a pirate room before the "Pirate" series came out. We had soooo much fun there. All the rooms were really neat. And then we spent the next day in Solvang, another beautiful area.

James and I love Solvang.

That's right. I forgot about Ariel's. So we will have two character meals then. That'll work. Two is plenty.

We were visiting my in-laws in Moorpark during that fire.

Yes for Ariel's, but I would bet that would be a small group. The other character meal will be most if not everyone.

Where abouts in Moorpark? My cousins live up there and I will be attending a party there in June. Any hotel recommendations?

I would think that they would do all they can to save the Mission. It seemed like the fires would never end last year but it was my first year to experience them. I have been told that about 3 or 4 years ago the fires were worse and all of the hills around Simi were on fire. Two things I do not like about CA: the fires and earthquakes! BTW - Did you feel the earthquake a week ago that was in Westlake? It was a 4.2 I think. It was just a small shaker but I could really do without the earthquakes!

We were driving home from DLR when it happened. We didn't feel it, but my parents said they felt a pretty good shake. We were probably right in that area going down the Conejo Grade when it happened!

That hurts my heart and it's also really scary because its very close to one of my school's campuses, which is on APS (alameda padre serra) I think I spelled that right. The photos are just touristy shots, nothing artsy, but I'll still share if you want!

It is scary. Especially when it's so close you know?

Thats so funny, but why make an announce it? It's just going to happen more often. I think its hilarious that they actually had so many jobs to keep chicken breasts off the monitors (since I can't say the first four letters of my user name)

That's exactly what I thought.

I went to the grammar school! Waaaaay back then the sisters were still in full habit. I loved those sisters though -they were the best..and I loved living in Oxnard. I would walk to school everyday, past the public school down a palm tree lined street and think "WOW, I am so lucky to live here!". Later, I remember Johnny Carson always made fun of Oxnard, but no idea why.

My dad was at Pt Magu, so we were only there 6 yrs, but I have the best memories of Oxnard. Have been back to Santa Barbara several times (and other parts of CA), but not to Oxnard...I'm afird it would be so diffierent and ruin my memories.

Wonder if the school and church have a website...going to look now.

P.s. Should have said I am a live in grandma...for real...I made it sound like I am a volunteer grandma.

I went to the other private Catholic school in Oxnard (Saint Anthony's). That's so neat! All those pretty palm trees and everything that are in that area of town are still there. It's so nice over there.

I never knew Johnny Carson made fun of Oxnard! I need to google that!

You should come back and see Oxnard. It's a lot different, but that part of town seems the same, but all the fields are gone and they're now houses.

The Santa Barbara fires are on the Indianapolis nightly news. I'm so glad I heard about it from you instead of seeing it on the news right before I go to bed. I would have had a coronary or something. I can't wait to call my advisor tomorrow and find out what is going on with the Jefferson campus!

First - thank you Molly for not forgetting about me!!! If I am not around much again - here is why:

My 2 week trip got extended to 3 weeks (while I was ON the trip). I finally got back and got my head above water with email & work & then... 5 people I work directly with and utilize as resources for my projects were let go this past week. This weekend my mom is actually in town (she travels 85% of the year) so she is coming up & we are going to play golf scared. Next week we are going to AZ to meet my best friend's new born. The week after that is my product's first release. 2 weeks after that, I am traveling for work again.

I really hope not to be the last minute add on to any of these trips, but wanted to say that I am still here, will check the front page of these threads often, and post when I can.

I am definately up for some Napa Rose action on this trip if anyone else is up for it!!!

Just popping in to say good morning, good afternoon and good night.

I've been busy today working on a job application. It's the most involved job application I have ever done in my life. I had do a 4 page report on why I'm the best candidate for the job and then they had a questionnaire that you had to write a detailed answer for each question. Then the application itself was 7 pages long. Yesterday, I actually had to go take a test for them before they'd even let me fill out the application. I guess I did okay because they gave me the application . Tomorrow I turn in all the paperwork and then I have an interview on Friday.

Whatever happened to just submitting a freakin' Resume???

I doubt I'll even get the job so there are hundreds of people applying. It's a rough job market right now.
