You should definitely come!

I fly into John Wayne or Long Beach. Both are very, very easy, and are close to DLR.

We usually take a cab to and from the airport, for about $40-45 each way. I know a lot of people also use Super Shuttle.

:
:hippie: Thank I will check those two out and see how much my airfare is- I cant fly out of Arkansas bc the airports here are basically like getting in a sardine can and being shot out of a slingshot.. so I always fly out of DFW or OKC! haha!

Welcome Tinker!!

There is a big shuttle bus that comes to most of the major airports. It has Disneyland emblazioned on the side, so you cant miss it. I think they pick up every 30 minutes or so. I believe they charge round 30.00 or so round trip. Then there are tons of privately owned ones that you can make arrangements with too.

Anyways, we are always so glad to have newcomers join in the fun. If you have anymore questions, ask away! :goodvibes

:
Thanks!! :yay: I have been wanting to come to DLR for a looong time. (I hope no one takes offense to this) but Disney is like a way of living to me (create magic- pay it forward- follow your dreams).. and being able to go to DLR is like going to the Holy Land! And you guys would all have to bring tissues for me bc I would just be crying my eyes out the whole trip! haha! But in a good way!

Tink.. Hi.. it's nice to meet you:goodvibes

WendyLouWho..:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug: smile because you are cared for by oh so many people:hug::hug::hug:

Tinker: Many of us are the same way, so you'll fit right in!

Hi everyone. Hugs to you all!

I've been busy with school lately, so I haven't been on here much the past few days, but I think I'm going to get another 4.0 in my class.
Anyway, my family and I leave for Disneyland on August 31st, so only a handful of days left before we leave. I wish I could stay for my birthday, but it's on labor day this year, and our kids start school the very next day, so it just wasn't going to work out. Oh well. My hubby thought I should wear a birthday button at Disneyland anyway, but I would feel weird doing that when it's not my actual birthday, like I was doing something wrong.

Yay for 4.0's! And YES YOU HAVE TO WEAR YOUR BIRTHDAY BUTTON. That is an ORDER. In fact, I have had CMs tell me to wear one if you're "celebrating" your birthday even though it's not THE day. So wear it with pride.

Does anyone know if ariels has soup on it's lunch menu? If it does then we will go. {crossing my fingers and toes}

Dawn, the only "soup" at Ariel's is the cioppino - which looks really awesome :thumbsup2

Cassi, I cry every time I go to DL - because I'm happy, not because I'm sad. I just love it :yay:

Wendell - hugs to you

Happy Tuesday everyone :cheer2:

Afternoon ladies! Hope everyone is doing well.
I am really missing DLR right now! :sad1: My DH and oldest DS took a short trip down there in late July. Then my sister took my DD in mid-August. I want a turn! But I will need to wait until November. We are going as a family the week before Thanksgiving. :cool1: We went during this week last year and it was great! :thumbsup2
AND we are in the beginning stages of planning a trip to WDW!!! :woohoo:
This would be for November 2010! Still - as some of you know - it takes alot more planning to do a trip to WDW!

..sigh...Main St for the first time? Or Wishes? Or the EWP? Gee, I feel teary just thinking about it! ;)

As for the birthday button - Oh yes, do get one! I had a CM convince me to wear one even though my birthday was 2 weeks past...it was still a birthday trip. Didn't think I would like it , but it was fun!! Get that birthday button!!! :thumbsup2

See everyone in the morning! Rest well - especially those who are not feeling well. Kelly extra  for you.

I have been in such a funk lately, I just don't know what to do with myself anymore. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with myself so I'll just have to deal with it.

Wendy - Funks are no fun. Especially when it's summertime.

Kelly - I'm sorry to hear you aren't back closer to 100%. Hopefully your recovery will pick up and you will wake up one morning (in the NEAR future) feeling significantly better.

Cristabel - that is so exciting about your AP!! Will have to take & post pics of your daily trips there so we can all live vicariously through you :)

No one in this group will be offended by that. You are more likely to have some of us happy-crying right beside you!

Hey ladies, I need some hugs, pixie dust and just some moral support.

I've mentioned before that my parents have been having some financial troubles lately mainly because both of their incomes got cut at their jobs. Well last year we moved from a 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment. The mortgage was getting too much (this was before my parent's pay cut) and the house was too big (always has been, we've been there since I was 2) for just the 3 of us. Since we were downgrading, my parents rented a storage unit. Well, my Mom goes to the storage to pay her bill and what does the lady tell her? "Sorry, we auctioned off all your stuff last week." Did we get a phone call? A letter that our payment was late? Anything? NOPE. A brand new HE washer and dryer. Gone. My grandparent's couches. Gone. My parent's dressers. Gone.

:sad2:

My Mom is in tears trying to find papers, bill statements, anything that shows her the last time she paid them. She remember she went in June to pay and the lady told her she can just pay half and that would be fine. The lady told my Mom today she sent us certified letters/bills. Did she have any copies of them? Nope. My Mom went to the post office and they don't have any letters/bills for us.

It's just material stuff. It can be fixed. I'll buy my parents all the washers and dryers in the world. I guess we're lucky all our personal stuff is here in the garage (my pageant dresses, all my grandmother's stuff, old pictures, etc.) and wasn't in that storage unit.

I'm just so MAD that the lady (or anyone working there) didn't make more of an effort to get a hold of us. :sad2: Like washers and dryers and couches come from trees.

Thank you for letting me vent.

Oh, Courtney  My heart just aches for your parents. Hope some recourse can be found for this unfair action. Is it possible the place may have gotten your family's unti mixed up with someone else?

I'm so sorry, sweetie.

Courtney, this happened to Heather too. Maybe she'll have some words of comfort (she's working today). I am so sorry about this. Can you believe that this can happen? With no warning?

Hello everyone . I know I've missed tons lately, but I'm starting to get a little more control of my life and was able to skim back a little.

Kelly & Stacerita- Sorry you're in such pain & I hope you feel better soon.

Donna- Hope you get over your illness.

Beth- That really sucks about the van. I completely know how you feel!!!

Wendy- We all get in a funk once in awhile. Your a great person & shouldn't be so hard on yourself. Hugs to you .

Steph- Thanks for thinking of me .

Cristabel- Glad you got moved okay!!

Heather- Sounds like you had a marvelous birthday at Disneyland. What Fun!!

Dawn- Hugs & Kisses that you're okay .

Hope everyone else is good. My kids start school tomorrow so we're trying to get everything ready.

I was without a car for 4 days (which seemed like forever). My car got totaled while parked at my sisters house :headache:(someone side swiped it at full speed). Since I don't have a job I couldn't get financed for a new car (banks won't touch you with no job). I had to find a car I could pay cash for. So I went from having a car that was less than 2 years old to a used Toyota Camry with with over 150,000. The good thing is I had GAP insurance on the other car so I don't owe anything & I no longer have a car payment. The bad thing is, I'm so afraid the car will break at any minute. It runs fine, but I'm still nervous. But Toyota's are usually reliable.

Besides that I've had a lot of family stress so I'm just trying to stay sane .

Oh, the baby got her first tooth last week. She has one tooth on the top front so I call her snaggle-tooth :).

Courtney, I'm so sorry that happened to your parents. :sad2: I'm glad it wasn't anything priceless or irreplaceable such as momentos or photos, but still. I think they should sue the storage company. It all sounds very fishy to me. Good luck to you and your parents.

Katie, that sucks about your car! Thank goodness you don't still have to pay for a totaled car. I always wondered about that. Hopefully the one you have now keeps going strong for you. :wizard:

So I was just filmed for a CBP recruiting video! Crazy!

Sarah

Did you give the Dis Divas a shout out??

That totally stinks. And with no record that they tried to get ahold of you sounds a bit hokie if you ask me. Something is up with that and I would persue it. Good luck.

I took a moment to update the schedule and try to reflect some of the more recent things we've talked about. If someone can take a look at it and let me know if it's seems right so far, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!! :)

Yes Beth, the new plans love mah-velous to me.;) I want to do everything on the list!

Count me in for the Animation Bldg. God only knows my sketch couldn't be any worse than the one I did Sat with Cristabel & Cheryl. And I was sober then!

Courtney, sweetie, I am sooooo sorry this happened to your family. I cried when I read it. Stupid storage unit companies. They really push the envelope, don't they? But the important thing (like you said) is that none of your family heirlooms and special items were in there. But the new HE W/D set? I just bought a set for my unspoiled child this year and even at the Sears floor-model-slightly scratched-as is store it was over $1,200. I would be FURIOUS too if I were your mom.:sad2:

Kelly, be careful during your recovery. You have been through so much, I cannot even imagine how you cope each day. Hugs to you...and Shane for being such a good DH.

Beth & Katie - that sucks about your vehicles. Darn it!:headache:

Have a good evening everyone.:)

PS I didn't mean to imply my DD is anything but an angel. I love her to pieces, but anyone that knows us really does know she is spoiled to death. Derservingly so.:littleangel:

Thank you ladies for all the well wishes and hugs. :grouphug: I will keep you girls posted on what happens with this storage mess.

Oh, Courtney  My heart just aches for your parents. Hope some recourse can be found for this unfair action. Is it possible the place may have gotten your family's unti mixed up with someone else?

I'm so sorry, sweetie.

Thank you so much, Christine. My Mom is getting together all her paperwork from the storage place, like receipts and the contract thing they signed. She kind of doesn't want to deal with it right now and I guess I don't blame her.

Courtney, this happened to Heather too. Maybe she'll have some words of comfort (she's working today). I am so sorry about this. Can you believe that this can happen? With no warning?

Thank you! I'll shoot Heather a PM tomorrow.

Courtney, I'm so sorry that happened to your parents. :sad2: I'm glad it wasn't anything priceless or irreplaceable such as momentos or photos, but still. I think they should sue the storage company. It all sounds very fishy to me. Good luck to you and your parents.

Thank you, Beth. It sounds weird to us too. My Mom said this lady at the storage place has never been friendly to her anyways. :confused3

That totally stinks. And with no record that they tried to get ahold of you sounds a bit hokie if you ask me. Something is up with that and I would persue it. Good luck..

Thank you, Stacie. :flower3:

Thank you so much, Linda. The washer/dryer set is fairly new. We put it in storage since our apartment came with a washer/dryer.

Okay, you talked me into it. I'll wear a birthday button even though it will be a few days early. I'm not sure why I still feel guilty about it though.....Catholic guilt maybe? LOL. :rolleyes1

Courtney, I think something fishy is going on too and your parents got burned. I agree with Cheryl; you're parents should pursue this and get to the bottom of what happened. I'm so sorry that happened to all of you!

Katie - UGH, you're car got totaled?!? That just plain sucks!
