Bay Lake Towers, the one near the Contemporary.

Very Cool! I saw the BLT a couple of weeks ago from the monorail...looks awesome!
Thanks CoMickey! Ruh roh, I've been "gone" from the thread (so I didn't turn the place to cinders with my annoyance at hospitals and petulant "I am god" (a la Malice) MDs) so long that I've missed a new person joining up. :flower3:

No worries! You never now when you all may be subjected to a vent or two from me!!

I SO want to go to Disneyland with you! :sad2:

We'll be there Sat. You could come and keep me company on my run! But then I don't think I could keep up with you...I'm still taking baby steps with this running thing!

LOL--280 points: 2 annual passes (for WDW), 3 nights at Grand Cal hotel, 2 nights at Del Coronado OR Fairmont Hotel, one week RCI exchange and a $15 discount off purchase price per point.

That is amazing! Was that the incentive for adding on points? Do you know if they are offering any incentives for buying original points? :idea:The Hotel del Coronado is one of mine!! I've been there but I've never stayed but I plan to sometime this summer or fall. Have fun where ever you decide to go!!

That's awesome! So smart not to buy the full 500 points up front! What incentives have you stacked up this year: a 7 night cruise for two plus the above. Not bad!!

If you decide on Fairmont Hotel, let me know and I can meet you in SF!

-Jen

actually, I will probably do the Del. I know it's blasphemy, but I'm just not a big SF fan.

So, you need a new best friend? :flower3: I come with a steady supply of dark chocolate. :goodvibes

That's my girl!

OK Cheryl...walk me through this big stack of paper. :surfweb:

Would it help if I told you that I didn't even read them? Just checked the numbers and incentives? and signed?

For the first add-on I got the 7-day cruise plus two other annual passes--luckily the WDW ones never expire!

Yes, they are offering incentives for buying original points too--these were incentives offered at a special event they had a week or two ago. So I'm not sure what the current "new buyer" incentive is. But I'll find out and PM you.

by the way, the foregoing is not LEGAL advice. (just a disclaimer)

however, I figure that it's not going to change anyway, so I just close my eyes, pinch shut my nose and sign on the line (or the Mickey ears).

Damn. All this talk of San Diego, San Francisco, and Disney has me really annoyed that I am sitting at home instead of on the road to someplace fun and fabulous.

I don't love SF either. We live less than an hour away, and we NEVER go. I'd much rather head to the beach!:beach:

:car:

Miss you all, will be back soon!

Hether! Are you still visiting with your mom? Good to see you, girl!

Well, I'm trying to redeam myself after my suggestion of BBQ-Ranch dip, so tonight I'm making Cheryl's chianti brasied short ribs. They are cooking away on the stove right now. I started them a bit late, though, so we won't be eating until about 7:30. I'm afraid Marty might eat his own arm before dinner is ready!

This makes me wonder if you ever telling Ruben "SCOOT OVER!" :lmao:

Srsly where is the tag fairy when you need her!

HoJos does give us the ability to use our extra money on churros, popcorn, and other tasty treats!

That it does. Heck, I bet if we get a 2 queen suite, we could probably get 7 people in there. Price would be 30ish a night I bet.

Morning ladies!! So I guess they call Thursdays, Thirsty Thursday. Come to think of it, I could use a drink. Anyway, hope you all have a good day.

Puts our pizza party with candy bar to shame. :sad2:

:lmao:

And Mickey nuggets don't cost over $50 a person. ;)

Oh yes. I like honey mustard too. I am a real fan of condiments. Lots of mayo and mustard on my sandwiches. Lots of sauces to dip things in. Lots of syrup and butter on pancakes or waffles. Things like that. 'Course those are all the bad things....

I hope your mom's appt is going ok!

I like condiments too. BBQ suace is my fave. I love dipping all meats into it.

actually, the Mickey nuggets in the dark chocolate didn't sound that awful to me either!

You're nasty. j/k

I can't stay out of the Easter bunny's malted robin eggs. I don't think there will be one left for the easter baskets. Yummy!

I didn't even buy the cadbury mini eggs this year as I LOVE those just too much.

Think it's time to go downstairs for more easter basket pillaging. The boys will never know what's missing. :rolleyes1

I ate a whole bag of easter candy myself. Its called chicks and bunnies. Basically its circus peanuts in the shape of chicks and bunnies. So bad, but so good.

BBQ-Ranch dip with chicken nuggets my have been my white-trashiest chefy moment ever.......

Nice! :thumbsup2

Heck, my father can one up you......he made us dinner the other night. Yummy fish, fresh veggies, and rice. Then he took wheat bread, slapped some butter on it and parmesan cheese and put it in the oven. It totally tasted like feet smelling toast.

Actually, I'm thinking of a bbq sauce/dark chocolate mix--kind of like a mole bbq sauce . . . . . hmmm--definitely going to have to experiment . . . .

I so do not like mole.

I so want to go to DL this weekend. And I just got back from WDW!

I'm going next weekend after I get back from Vegas. I need my fix.

Fed ex just came! Fed ex just came!
Let's go see what it is! :yay::yay:

I love when Fed Ex comes by.....or UPS. What can brown do for you?

Damn. All this talk of San Diego, San Francisco, and Disney has me really annoyed that I am sitting at home instead of on the road to someplace fun and fabulous.

But you live in Vegas girl. Always something to do there.

Our pizza party and candy buffet were awesome! So much better than just sitting around a table at a restaurant!

What your dad mades sounds suspiciously like Sizzler cheese toast. It's giving me flash backs to when I worked there in high school and college:scared:

:car:

We miss you too!

No way man! I'll take pizza and candy over all that fancy shmancy food any day. You guys did great, and our party rocked. :thumbsup2

Do I even want to know how you fit 7 people on two queen beds??? :rotfl:

Except at sizzler they use texas toast or something like that. My dad just used the wheat bread we use for our PB&Js. So not the same thing.

We miss you too!

Easy.....2 per bed, so thats 4 right there. Then the sofa makes out to another queen. 2 more there......now we are up to 6, Get a roll-away up in there.....bam, you got 7 in the room.

You don't want more than one person on that sofa sleeper, trust me. ;)

But there is plenty of room for a couple of rollaways or even better, Aerobeds! The two bathrooms in that suite make it even a sweeter deal (pun completely and unapologetically intended). :rotfl:

Would it help if I told you that I didn't even read them? Just checked the numbers and incentives? and signed?

I am calling your law school to tell on you!

The other feeling is...I took hours to read through those things (but not the small prospectus type booklets) and you didn't???

MOLLY: Sorry to hear about the hospital fiasco. Have you ever thought of being a hospital social worker? That's what my mom does. Seems you might have some good skills on how to navigate medical services that would come in handy in that job. And CONGRATS on DVC!:yay: Can I ask why you chose BLT over VGC?

I hadn't thought about that, but I did think about working in their food department! Robert, who has had to change his diet SO much, was just livid watching them bring all that white bread and all those desserts to a diabetic (and MIL's first food while there was a white bread grilled American-cheese-product sandwich), while he deals with whole wheat with flax seed, low-carb wraps. I said "well maybe they don't want people to feel punished?" and he said "but especially for the newly diagnosed diabetic, you want them to see how GOOD food can be, even with a low-carb/good carb diet, so they should show people how good it can be, not just count the crap carbs while feeding junk food".

But all of it has to go by the wayside, b/c the smell of hospitals is literally nauseating to me. I remember being at the birth of my then best friend's baby, and the smell of the linens (this was before they had that chemical stuff to rub on hands everywhere, and simply required you to WASH your hands every 10 minutes, LOL, so it wasn't that smell) was absolutely disgusting to me. Same when I was at St Joe's. I had to wash *everything* that had been there to get the smell off. And this hospital didn't quite have that exact funk, but it did have the disinfectant stuff smell, which is just as gross, but not quite as nauseating as the other places...but no matter what, I couldn't be around that smell all the time.

But helping people would be good should I decide to work somewhere for money. I was looking around on hotjobs the other day, and there are some positions similar to that at some local offices of insurance companies. Since dealing with insurance is another sideline of mine, I couldn't help but think that I might help people that way...but then of course I got the Mr Incredible scene in my head of him trying to help but being stopped b/c of the bottom line. :)

Fed ex just came! Fed ex just came!
Let's go see what it is! :yay::yay:

You are so lucky to know what it could have been. I had NO idea that they would be overnighting things! I was so surprised.

I think I need a real estate lawyer to understand them. Is there a real estate lawyer around??? A Starbuck's blacklisted real estate lawyer? ;)

LOL.

FWIW, if I could read and basically understand things, you should be able to as well.

And this might have been a WA thing, but if you find any duplicate pages in your stacks of things to sign, SIGN THEM and send them in. We thought that the person packing the stuff made a mistake and set the duplicates aside, only to realize later that they did need those. :rolleyes1

:woohoo:

I'm down for tossing down a few aerobeds. Thanks for that tip. And two bathrooms :worship: I know there is two balconys, so I'm sure we can put a few out there as well if needed :rolleyes1

I'm sorry Grizz, I didn't answer your other question.

When we really started talking about it, like heavily talking (as opposed to the chatter we've been doing since late '07), we realized that we would likely never use points to stay at Grand Cal, and so by owning there we would be "taking up" primo 11 month spots, while others might want those spots.

So then it was between BLT and AKV, and our guide pushed BLT b/c the dues were lower, while Robert really wanted AKV, but again, it wasn't really something huge. We're flexible, we like almost everything when we travel (we just want to be treated nicely), and if we ever "have to" settle for OKW or SSR b/c there's nothing left at some other place, that's OK with us. No big. So since the guide was in favor of BLT, we went with that.

Very scientific! :rotfl:

Aerobeds? Oh heck yeah! And while we're at it, why not use up that floor space in the kitchen? I have a brand new double areobed that would fit perfectly in the kitchen. That's another 1 or 2 ladies there. Unless of course we'd actually use the kitchen for cooking? If that's the case, I make a mean pot of Jazz Kitchen gumbo! But I figure as long as we have access to the bar and a couple of blenders set up there, as well as a path to the fridge, we'd be set. Heck, if I slept there, I wouldn't even have to stumble across the room to get my one-eye-open diet Pepsi in the morning. I could just roll over and grab one. ;)
