*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Cool, Christabel is going to be 21!:woohoo: I can be a bad influence!:rolleyes1

MommyWithDreams, I will absolutely keep you MIL and your family in my prayers. (I've been there with my own mom when she was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago, and so I know how scary it can be.)

I will send you some pictures of Stanley Park when I get a chance...it is the most amazing park with a great jogging/bike trail that runs along the water.
.

I've been there, a few years ago, and I was so jealous that we cannot manage to have something like this. But I still want to see photos. :)

Which building is the conference room in? I thought it was building 3? but that building had elevators.

I remember elevators too.

The Sea Wall at Stanley Park is very nice! When we lived in North Vancouver we would go and walk around it - beautiful. Frank would jog from North Van, across the bridge, and around the park and back. I would die, but he's like that :thumbsup

I thought we were in building 2 last year with the conference room and elevator (or am I dreaming??????)

I thought so too... same dream.

Oh I don't know. Anything over 100 is just miserable. lol
:

The news said your body cannot process anything over 98 degrees.... (meaning heat)

Hi ladies....
I feel really sick right now. Chris just called me telling me his mom has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. :(

Anyway, any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ladies:grouphug:

:wizard::wizard::wizard: (bc has some of the highest rates of success - think positive)

Hi to everyone. I hope you all are getting good results from your doctors!

Oh my GOSH is it hot! WHEW! . It is SO hot! Anyway I hope everyone has a GREAT day today!
It's hot here too! Probably about the same as you! :headache:

But first I have to go get my B:eek:Bs squished at the docs. I'm nervous. :sad2: My mom had breast cancer, so I hope it all goes ok.

Talk to y'all later.
I'm sure it will all be fine. :hug:It is never fun to get mamograms, but it is a nessecity! And yes they can hurt. Especially at certain time of the month. :headache:

Which building is the conference room in? I thought it was building 3? but that building had elevators.
I am getting confused now. :confused3

I thought we were in building 2 last year with the conference room and elevator (or am I dreaming??????)
Now I am really confused!:confused3:

We were in Building 2 this year, and Building 1 the first year. I definitely preferred #1, although I didn't have a room that had the sink outside of the bathroom.
Geesh...the last time my family stayed there, I thought it was in Building 2, and there weren't any elevators! Now I am triple confused.

Another drive-by hi from me!!!!!
Hi!

I've never been to the Cove bar but I'll already be 21 by our next trip!
:woohoo::woohoo:

Oh I don't know. Anything over 100 is just miserable. lol
:
You can say that again!

Hi girls!

I skimmed again...so I really have no clue what is going on.:sad2:

Brent is healing up nicely. But occasionally will overdo it and need to rest.

Thanks to all your prayers and good thoughts he is doing great!

Hmmm...Mel, did you ask why I want to move to Arizona? I could have mis-read it..but I am going to tell you anyway.:rotfl:We hate Boise, we like warm weather but cannot afford California, and the school I am going through does their teaching certifications in Utah (no thanks) and Arizona. When I was in my early 20's I would travel with my family to see my cousin's baseball games (he played for UCR) against a few schools in Arizona. I thought it was very lovely. I am a desert girl. However, the oppressive heat in the summer doesn't sound too fun, but what are ya gonna do?:confused3 I would take the heat over slippery roads and frozen feet ANY day.:thumbsup2 Plus, it is really close to our families that live in So Cal )and Disneyland).

I feel bad that I have zero time to really read everyone's posts. I will try tonight to get all caught up.
Ok, thanks for your response. I hope you can get things worked out. And I'm with you.........I'd rather have heat than days of snow and slippery roads.

Hi ladies,

I miss you all terribly!

My dad missed the bullet again. :goodvibes (His words not mine, but it is kind of funny, in a sick sort of way.) Although it was touch and go there for a while, he's back home and doing better. He's eating better and his breathing is easier.....and his color is MUCH better. His heart.....well, not great, but it's still working a little. I mean the poor guy was very close to going towards the light, but some how he bounced back again. He's like a Timex watch I guess.

I'm not sure he'll still be with us this time next year, but after this last go-around, I'm better prepared for whatever God wills to happen.
And hello and hugs and miss you's to all my other Diva friends!

I have the next three weeks off from school, so I should be able to chat with all of you a lot more. :yay:.
That is good news about your Dad! I so know what you mean about your folks. At this time in their lives, everyday is one more to cherish, cuz you don't know what tomorrow will bring.

It will be fun to have you back for a few weeks! And how come you can't come a few days earlier in October?

Greetings from Vagas! We're staying at the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street and our room is to die for! I'll post photos later, but right now I have a massage appointment and MAAAAAAAAN do I ever need it. I hope all of my favorite ladies are having magical days! :grouphug:
I'm jealous!

Have been so busy had eight cheerleaders stay the night Friday went to bed after 11pm and had to get up a 3am to get them to Seattle to cheer dor the rock and roll marathon. I got home and had to get ready to go to a bbq and ended up havin a few to many jello shots. Sunday ended up goin to my sisters for another bbq to celebrate belated father's day with my family. woke up Monday am packed and the family headed down to Seattle to stay overnight at Inn at the Market and we just got home. Had such a fun weekend but ready to sleep now!

I booked a room at Howard Johnson and would love to have some roomies join me. Just a heads up we stayed in building 1 this last April and I learned you do not want the room closest to the freeway unless you like to feel like you are on a race track all night. If you booked a premium room request the 7th floor the fireworks can be seen so well and its fun to see how many different areas they are going off in the park.
You are a busy lady! Good to see you around again. So you like jello shots too? :rolleyes1

Hi ladies....
I feel really sick right now. Chris just called me telling me his mom has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. :(
The hard part about all this....they had been running tests and they came back ok, until she had a procedure done last week and well, the results obviously aren't good. I just want to be there for their family so badly right now. I know I can't take it all away but gosh I wish I could do something to ease their pain. :(
Anyway, any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ladies:grouphug:
Aw, Janelle! I am so sorry about this. I will certainly keep Chris' mom in my prayers.

Sure I would hold your hair. Unless I needed to get my drink on. And I will fix you up some juice that you will love. I think I got everyone in Vegas drinking it.
What do you mean "hold your hair?" Haven't heard that one yet? In my day it used to be "hold your hand."

Well, when someone drinks too much and is getting sick, only the bestest of friends are in there with them "holding their hair" back so they don't get sick on it. Very different from holding someone's hand. :rotfl:

That just shows how much I get around!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

It will be fun to have you back for a few weeks! And how come you can't come a few days earlier in October?

It's because of my school schedule.....my class doesn't get over until October 27th, and then I have two weeks off until my next class starts. It's a big bummer. :headache:

Well phooey! Just skip a few days!:yay::cool1::cheer2:

I wish I could, but we have group projects in every class, and I couldn't let my group down like that. Best case scenerio is I could work ahead and just make sure I get all my work done early, including my group work. The problem with that is......there's so much work as it is, I don't know if it's even possible to work ahead (without blowing a fuse in my brain).

I may have missed it....but whatever happened to your group and that one person who plagerized her part of the project?

Aw Capri! You know I'm just teasing you, in a serious way. I know you have a heavy load. Still it would be nice if you could come. :grouphug:

As far as I know, nothing happend. I re-wrote her part of the project, added it in, and then turned in our project. We received an "A" on our project, but I'm not sure if Miss Plagiarizer recieved an "A" too for the group project, or an "F".....I don't have the ability to see what kind of grade she received or what the class instructor said to her. All I know is that she passed the class because she was enrolled in the next class with me too. Luckily I wasn't in the same group as her this time.

Awww, I know you are. The thing is......our dates are just soooooo close......it's tempting to try to work it out somehow, but I just don't know if I could handle the load of getting all my work done a few days early......maybe I could.....hmmmmmmm.:upsidedow

Beth - Hope everything turns out okay after your b:eek:b appointment today. I've never had that done before.....I'm a big chicken about the PAIN. I really should though. I am, afterall, almost on the last rung of my 30s ladder. :rolleyes1 Also, I hope you and your hubby had a lovely time for your 16th anniversay. My hubby and I also celebrate our 16th anniversary this year.....in 31 days. Eh, it'll be just another day for us.
Thanks. I'll know in a week. As for the pain, it really didn't hurt at all. It's the waiting for results that is hard to take.
Happy "early" Anniversary to you and your DH!!

Oh no. I'm sorry to hear that. I hate cancer of all sorts. My thoughts are with you, Chris and his mom. :grouphug:

:grouphug: To Everyone.

Sorry I haven't been around a great deal but there's way too much going on here and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. I know July starts tomorrow but I'm already getting stuff to plan for August and September and it just seems that July is already over as I'm over scheduled for just about every week day...

Capri I don't know how you're able to do all that you're doing. *hugs* to you and I hope your dad keeps getting better.

I'm working on my Master's degree and some days it feels like it's a losing battle. I just had a vacation and feel like I am in need of another one.

Thanks Theresa for posting about the entertainment rate that's a great deal for our trip.

I'm trying to keep up with reading but may not always be able to respond like I would like to and apologize in advance.

Steph, you're working on getting your Masters degree too?!!! (I think I vaguely remember that now.....my brain is fried.) Well then girl, you're a super woman! I don't know how you're able to do all that you're doing......working full time......working on your Masters.....plus being a mom and wife! I know exactly what you mean when you say you're ready for a vacation even though you just had one. You're doing soooooo much, all the time, everyday, that you get burned out really quick. And yet the only choice you have is to just keep going forward. (OMGosh, that's the story of my life these days too.) Steph, I think you're AWESOME!

Thanks for the happy anniversary. :goodvibes

It didn't hurt? Wow, everytime I ask someone if it hurt, they're always like, "Heck YEAH it hurt!" Scares me from wanting to go get it done. You're the first person who said it didn't really hurt. Maybe I should get one done at your clinic. ;)

Hi girls!
I have no clue what is going on here.

I hope everyone is doing great!

How much is the entertainment rate?

Becci~ What days are you going on the girls trip????

Yea, Arizona! And you're doing just fine, I didn't go back and read all of what was posted while I was in Vegas, so don't feel bad!

Sure I would hold your hair. Unless I needed to get my drink on. And I will fix you up some juice that you will love. I think I got everyone in Vegas drinking it.

Oh yes, YUMMY!!

You are a busy lady! Good to see you around again. So you like jello shots too? :rolleyes1

What do you mean "hold your hair?" Haven't heard that one yet? In my day it used to be "hold your hand."

Uh-oh! We need more jello shots! And the sad thing is that we had lots of jello shots in Vegas, and had to ... prepare yourself ... THROW THEM AWAY!!! Deb and I considered eating all of them before going to the airport but didn't think that would work out very well on the plane!

Well, when someone drinks too much and is getting sick, only the bestest of friends are in there with them "holding their hair" back so they don't get sick on it. Very different from holding someone's hand. :rotfl:

I figured you would explain it to Mel. Really, Melody, you've never heard that??? You're not that much older than me, but maybe I'm a little more wild!! Not that there's any proof of that!!! :confused3

Hi girls!
I have no clue what is going on here.

I hope everyone is doing great!

How much is the entertainment rate?

Becci~ What days are you going on the girls trip????

Come on, catch up, girl!!

The Ent. Rate is $59, 69, 79, depending on the room type. And it's available Feb. 25-28 right now. I had them do the reservation through March 2 so that if March 1 comes up with the Ent. rate, they can change it for me.

Hey Katie, are you still rooming with us?

Donna, PM me what I owe you for the rings. I have no idea! But I know I collected money from everyone. I think Dawn ended up with 2, as well as Cheryl, and Theresa had 3. Were there any others who had more than 1??? And I owe you for the gift card, and I have a little surprise package for you from Dawn!
