*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Good luck at the docs! That is not fun but unfortunately a must! I will be thinking good thoughts for you! ((hugs))

Thankyou! Can you tell I am excited to go? :rolleyes1:laughing:

Gee, I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. Cancer is never a nice word, but it seems like more and more things are being done to help. I will keep her in my prayers. Take care.

Mel:flower3:

You deserve to be excited! Heck, I'm excited for you too! Thanks for keeping my mom in your prayers. I am sure everything will be fine...

Vicki, I think you may be contagious quite a while with a cold. I just wouldn't kiss her or hug her.

Why the heck don't we have a Stanley Park in LA?

That's what I thought, I won't hug her or get too close but I am feeling better today so hopefully Sunday was the worst of it.

I will send you some pictures of Stanley Park when I get a chance...it is the most amazing park with a great jogging/bike trail that runs along the water.

But first I have to go get my B:eek:Bs squished at the docs. I'm nervous. :sad2: My mom had breast cancer, so I hope it all goes ok.

Good luck at the dr's. Never fun but a necessity and always a relief when you get the call that everything is A-OK.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

And anyone else out there...........do not get building 2 or 3. They are old and have no elevators!!! I know that is not the end of the world, but still.

Just saying..........:rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

LOL! Welcome home Stacie! We missed you!

Which building is the conference room in? I thought it was building 3? but that building had elevators.

The Sea Wall at Stanley Park is very nice! When we lived in North Vancouver we would go and walk around it - beautiful. Frank would jog from North Van, across the bridge, and around the park and back. I would die, but he's like that :thumbsup2

My play time is over. Ruben's back at work. He took the whole week off and used his paid leave to watch the kids while I went out and played with the ladies every day and night. :goodvibes

But first I have to go get my B:eek:Bs squished at the docs. I'm nervous. :sad2: My mom had breast cancer, so I hope it all goes ok.

Talk to y'all later. :grouphug:

Tell Ruben big thanks again - he ROCKS :thumbsup2 Good luck at the docs today - hopefully it will be quick and painless, with good news :flower3:

I thought we were in building 2 last year with the conference room and elevator (or am I dreaming??????)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful first of the week! My trip is getting so much better :thumbsup2 I'm becoming less and less the size of a bus... I just quit taking the steroids the swelling was too bad. The hives are GONE :cool1: Now we're at the Grand Canyon and I have internet again so I wanted to post some pictures.

Love the pictures!!

I am so so so behind. I saw on FB that the ET rates are out for the trip. I know I'm down to room with some divas...I just can't remember who. I just wanted to check in to see if we're doing HOJO's or onsite? I just couldn't remember. I feel so lost since I am not on the disboards as much as I am on FB.

We're all set! And we have room for Callie, too!!

I tell my mom and Brent all the time that you all (my invisible friends :rotfl:) are better friends to me than most of my friends here.

Now I am depressed.:lmao:I am ready to move to Arizona now, please.

We are the best friends to have! And AZ is ready for you!!

Aw, that is sweet January. You are so sweet yourself, that I can't imagine anyone not being nice to you.

BTW- Do you want to move to Arizona?

January is the sweetest person!! And yes, she WANTS to move to AZ! Right, January??

Since we're eating at Goofy's kitchen for dinner as our group meal, do they give a discount for annual passes?

Yes!

I thought we were in building 2 last year with the conference room and elevator (or am I dreaming??????)

We were in Building 2 this year, and Building 1 the first year. I definitely preferred #1, although I didn't have a room that had the sink outside of the bathroom.

Just a quick Hello to everyone.

I'm going to go check out some of the Vegas photos on Facebook.

I hope you all have a good day today! In case anyone missed it, Theresa posted the ET rates are out for our trip dates so you might want to book a room just to have one until we know for sure what the onsite room rates will be.

My play time is over. Ruben's back at work. He took the whole week off and used his paid leave to watch the kids while I went out and played with the ladies every day and night. :goodvibes

My in-laws had come to visit so now I need to do repair work here as they always make a mess!! And of course laundry.

But first I have to go get my B:eek:Bs squished at the docs. I'm nervous. :sad2: My mom had breast cancer, so I hope it all goes ok.

Talk to y'all later. :grouphug:

I said it before and I'll say it again, you have a great husband!!!

Good Luck and your appointment and hope everything is okay .

Cristabel, My computer says you posted this last night/morning at 1:00am. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Are you not tired?

Anyways, I'm pretty sure we want to do Carnation, Cafe Orleans, Wine Country Trattoria, and some kind of appetizer meal at the Cove Bar. I'd also be up for one of the Mexican places in either park.

I was tired, especially since I had come home from a training session at the gym, but I like going online to unwind.

Carnation cafe was very nice but I'm pretty much indifferent/ slightly against Cafe Orleans. I don't really like their food. I like Wine Country Trattoria's ambiance and I've never been to the Cove bar but I'll already be 21 by our next trip!

Our measly 107 probably seems cool compared to some of the temps you all get there eh? ;)
Oh I don't know. Anything over 100 is just miserable. lol

Good luck at the docs! That is not fun but unfortunately a must! I will be thinking good thoughts for you! ((hugs))
Thanks!!

Thanks. I won't know for another week.

Tell Ruben big thanks again - he ROCKS :thumbsup2 Good luck at the docs today - hopefully it will be quick and painless, with good news :flower3:
He does rock. And I'm glad that all of us with husbands, kids, jobs, and other responsibilities were able to find a way to get together and have some good ole fun! :yay:

January is the sweetest person!! And yes, she WANTS to move to AZ! Right, January??
No, she wants to move to Vegas so she can score all the great locals deals, and be here when anyone comes to visit. ;)

Good Luck and your appointment and hope everything is okay .
Thanks!

I've never been to the Cove bar but I'll already be 21 by our next trip!
:yay: :woohoo:  :cool1:

Hi girls!

I skimmed again...so I really have no clue what is going on.:sad2:

Brent is healing up nicely. But occasionally will overdo it and need to rest.

Thanks to all your prayers and good thoughts he is doing great!

Hmmm...Mel, did you ask why I want to move to Arizona? I could have mis-read it..but I am going to tell you anyway.:rotfl:We hate Boise, we like warm weather but cannot afford California, and the school I am going through does their teaching certifications in Utah (no thanks) and Arizona. When I was in my early 20's I would travel with my family to see my cousin's baseball games (he played for UCR) against a few schools in Arizona. I thought it was very lovely. I am a desert girl. However, the oppressive heat in the summer doesn't sound too fun, but what are ya gonna do?:confused3 I would take the heat over slippery roads and frozen feet ANY day.:thumbsup2 Plus, it is really close to our families that live in So Cal )and Disneyland):rolleyes1.

I feel bad that I have zero time to really read everyone's posts. I will try tonight to get all caught up.

Hi ladies,

I miss you all terribly!

My dad missed the bullet again. :goodvibes (His words not mine, but it is kind of funny, in a sick sort of way.) Although it was touch and go there for a while, he's back home and doing better. He's eating better and his breathing is easier.....and his color is MUCH better. His heart.....well, not great, but it's still working a little. I mean the poor guy was very close to going towards the light, but some how he bounced back again. He's like a Timex watch I guess. ;)

I'm not sure he'll still be with us this time next year, but after this last go-around, I'm better prepared for whatever God wills to happen.

I'm so happy to see the Vegas Divas back. Hope you all had a good time. I read back just a bit and I see Cheryl won a little jackpot - WAY TO GO GIRL!

Katie - I'm so very sorry you didn't get the job. Keep your chin up. You're smart and beautiful inside and out.....something good will come your way.

Beth - Hope everything turns out okay after your b:eek:b appointment today. I've never had that done before.....I'm a big chicken about the PAIN. I really should though. I am, afterall, almost on the last rung of my 30s ladder. :rolleyes1 Also, I hope you and your hubby had a lovely time for your 16th anniversay. My hubby and I also celebrate our 16th anniversary this year.....in 31 days. Eh, it'll be just another day for us.

Ummmm, who else.....oh yeah, was it Jane who found their condo is being forclosed on? That is just HORRIBLE on so many levels. I hope everything works out for them. I wish I was there to help.

Callie - Oh man, my hubby and I would've totally been there to help you guys pack up and load your stuff. I hope the move is going smoothly other than that. Geesh, nice friends. Well, you have my friendship.....and as I said, WE WOULD'VE BEEN THERE to help you guys!

Oh, and who has the hives? (Sorry ladies, but I tried to quickly catch up, and I can't remember what is going on with whom.) Was is Bridgette? Is she the one moving? Well anyway, poor babe! I hope your hives are better and the move is going well!

And hello and hugs and miss you's to all my other Diva friends! :grouphug:

I have the next three weeks off from school, so I should be able to chat with all of you a lot more. :yay:

I'm trying to plan our next trip to DLR. I have to switch our dates again due to my school schedule, and it looks like we'll miss the October Dis Diva mini-meet by only a few days. We're now looking at going Oct 28th-Nov 3rd......or we could go the first week in September, but I think the kids would rather go in October so they can do Halloween at DLR.

Greetings from Vagas! We're staying at the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street and our room is to die for! I'll post photos later, but right now I have a massage appointment and MAAAAAAAAN do I ever need it. I hope all of my favorite ladies are having magical days! :grouphug:

Have been so busy had eight cheerleaders stay the night Friday went to bed after 11pm and had to get up a 3am to get them to Seattle to cheer dor the rock and roll marathon. I got home and had to get ready to go to a bbq and ended up havin a few to many jello shots. Sunday ended up goin to my sisters for another bbq to celebrate belated father's day with my family. woke up Monday am packed and the family headed down to Seattle to stay overnight at Inn at the Market and we just got home. Had such a fun weekend but ready to sleep now!

I booked a room at Howard Johnson and would love to have some roomies join me. Just a heads up we stayed in building 1 this last April and I learned you do not want the room closest to the freeway unless you like to feel like you are on a race track all night. If you booked a premium room request the 7th floor the fireworks can be seen so well and its fun to see how many different areas they are going off in the park.

Hi ladies....
I feel really sick right now. Chris just called me telling me his mom has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. :(
The hard part about all this....they had been running tests and they came back ok, until she had a procedure done last week and well, the results obviously aren't good. I just want to be there for their family so badly right now. I know I can't take it all away but gosh I wish I could do something to ease their pain. :(
Anyway, any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ladies:grouphug:

I am so sorry to hear that. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

We will have to get our drink on then! :thumbsup2

You'll hold my hair won't you? ;)
Just kidding! :lmao:

I plan to ease into alcoholic beverages so I'll probably do most of my drinking at home. It's free and I'm safe :thumbsup2

I can already tell that I will only like the sugary things.

Sure I would hold your hair. Unless I needed to get my drink on. And I will fix you up some juice that you will love. I think I got everyone in Vegas drinking it.
