Capri, in the scheme of things, it doesn't really hurt that much. Having bc hurts a lot more, so everyone should go and get their mammos. Even when younger, you can get your baseline mammo.

You can also purchase a foam pad. It's $10. I think you have to buy it from the place that does the mammos. You keep it and it is used to make the machine more comfortable. Why women have to pay for this is such an insult - if it were men, you bet insurance would cover it.

One side of the pad is sticky and it sticks to the mammo machine. You keep it at home (not wrapped in plastic, as it has to breathe) and bring it in when you get your mammos. Results are actually more accurate because patients are more comfortable.

What the heck! I am officially on vacation until July 11 and this is my first day to sleep in and I am wide awake! Ugh!

My mom's surgery is at 1:30pm today. I really wish it were this morning so we didn't have to wait and think about it for half of the day. She can't have anything to eat since midnight so that will be hard not having anything to eat most of the day. We went to Cracker Barrel which is one of her favorite restaurants last night.

We found out that the hospital has WiFi so I'll let you all know how it goes. Also my sister and I are happy that we have a distraction and will be playing in our farms. The waiting is so hard but we'll be harvesting, planting and rearranging away so if any of my FB friends have crops to harvest you know where to find me! My farm is so unorganized and it looks like a patchwork quilt but I kind of like it like that...can you tell I've gotten addicted?

Everyone's experience is different but I just wanted to tell you mine. It's the waiting for the results that is painful and also if there is something it is better to detect it early!

Stacielee... I paid for 2 rings... a pretty purple one and a lovely green one. Remember i paid in the parking lot while we were waiting for the other girls to be able to park.

Also I paid for the pretty tiara's Beth gave us, thanks again for bringing those because i totally forgot mine. Wendy gave me hers and my little granddaughters love them! I'll have to take a pic of them in them next week.

Ooohh and I paid for the boa! But i don't know what happened to it? I put it in a bag someone was holding after the vegas sign pic.

So i think i am all paid up..if i'm not please let me know. i'll be out of town til next monday night.

Good morning ladies! I am off to read Stacerita's trip report. Can't wait!!!!


In regards to the pain of mammograms. I am fairly well endowed. Did not experience any pain, but to me, it was like a wrestling match sort of a thing. Really strange to have some detached stranger manhandling my "tissue". But she was super nice and made it as comfortable as it could have been. So worth the peace of mind.

Good morning, girls! I'm back at work today. But no work tomorrow cause of the 4th! Woohoo!!

My Mom's surgery went very well. We got at the hospital around 10:30am and didn't leave until almost 4:00pm. It was a super long day, but my Mom came out just fine. The doctors removed ALL her cysts and there is no need for them to biopsy them. We're just hoping they don't grow back.

She's resting at home and trying to figure out how to use crutches. It was a mission to get her up the stairs yesterday when we got home.

Thank you to everyone for all the prayers. We all really appreciate it.

Hi Vicki! Thank you. Her surgery went very well. We were there alll day, but she's feeling better now. The anesthesia made her pretty sick yesterday. Her ankle is just really super sore and she's having a hard time using crutches.

Haven't read back but just wanted to post that between saturday at 4pm and Wednesday at 4pm I will be working 64 hours! I had volunteered for a bunch of days hoping I might get one or two more overtimes so we could get our savings a bit higher in case my dh can't get a new job in the next month (for this month he is filling in for the website guy who is on vacation). Well, I got ot all right. 5 extra 8 hour shifts within 4 days!

Courtney - I'm praying for your mom. My dad had thyroid cancer last year and the surgeon took out the entire thyroid as well as gave him a radiation pill to be safe.

My mammos never hurt either, but that's because my girls are already looking like deflated balloons, so squishing them a little more is no biggie. lol But I agree, the waiting for results is the worst part. I wish it would hurry up already!

All the boas were in a white bag that got thrown into the back of Stacie's trunk and that's where they stayed. I grabbed mine out the last night of the trip, but I think I'm the only one who did.
