Does this store have a Safari Mickey? If not do you know if they have thim in disney?

We are staying concierge in Aug. I would like to have a surprise waiting for my DD7 and DS9. I know DD would like the mickey or Timone (sp) from Lion King.
Any suggestions on my DS, he is not into stuffed animals. Do they sell the night vision goggles at the lodge?

Now for my DH I would like to have a bucket of the Cassablanca Beer waiting for him. How is the beer? Has anyone had it? It is offered on the Sunset in room dining served between 3 and 6.
If we arrive early would they be able to have this in the room?

Thought I'd check here first before calling concierge.

The shop at AKL has a large assortment of Plush Safari animals... I remember seeing Timon & Pumba! Also various types of lions, baboons, cheetahs etc... I don't remember the safari mickey - but its possible.

I did not see night vision goggles - these items I beleive are highly specialized equipment and not gift shop material!

I did see binoculars though..that could be fun.

Do your kids have lanyards and pins? Thats what I would suggest.. a nice lanyard with a few pins each and they can get into trading - it's fun - all the CM's will trade with them and other guests too - especially other kids.

I had a welcome surprise for my daughter arranged by AKL concierge - it was a sorcerer mickey backpack filled with stuff like pens, autograph book, treats, a mickey candle..etc..

There are those new Pal Mickey things now - the interactive mickey mouse you take to the parks with you - that may be an idea.

Maybe drop the concierge an email and ask what they suggest

Your other alternative is to pick up some gifts at home and FEDEX them to concierge a few days before your arrival.

I was just at Wal-Mart looking for a gift when I came across childrens night vision goggles. I think they were about $30? I forget how far you could actually see, but it might be worth looking into!!

Hi there,

Just back from AKL concierge. They definitely have the safari mickeys. That was one of the surprises that we arranged to be left on each of the boys beds each night.

Thanks to >>^..^<<, that was a big hit!!!

We also had them deliver Mickey Binoculars the night before the Sunrise safari. They loved them.

That gift shop is the most amazing resort gift shop I have ever seen.

Sorry, I do not remember what type of beer they carry. I do remember that DH said the beer in the gift shop cost much less then anywhere else in the resort.

Last year I ordered a bucket of beer from the disney florist. 12 beers came in a nice, iced bucket and my DH loved it. You might try calling Concierge ahead of time to arrange something similar.
