Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

For any of you that are Christian and that want something protective that is very biblical based here is protective prayer.
It isn't exactly like the one I tried to find, but if you weed through the discriptions and scripure and find the pray parts it is pretty close.http://www.angelic.org/originalsite/armorofgod.html

Ran across this interesting discussion while searching.

:thumbsup2 Thanks. I actually like the idea of the two combined. The prayer with the visualization of the protective bubble in the deity color of purple.

Ok, so it could be positive energy - I like that. But how do you draw only positive - does it have to do with your outlook on life, because mine's pretty positive...I'm definately an optimist. :confused3

But I get it - Positive.:thumbsup2

I would say it reall depends on your beliefs. IMHO it is the power of our beleifs that impowers us. If you you believe you are drawing negative energy you will draw it.

Lets see hopefully I can explain the next part without offending anyone.
Someone who is very "old testiment, hellfire and brimstone, man is sinful and must repent" will IMHO actually draw that type of negative energy (what they would call Satan tempting them or God punishing them etc). However a Christian that believes in the power of prayer, a loving heavenly father etc would not draw that deep negative energy.

So basically the power is in you and your beliefs. You draw what you project.

ETA: I know I am drawing on extremes in the above explination and would say that most Xtians lean more to the second example with maybe a little influnce of the first. The extremes are to draw a clear difference in my example.

OK, I just watched 2 episodes of A Haunting. I have seen a couple of episodes before but was not able to figure out when it was on. It's now been added to my TIVO. Now I have to watch the news before I go to bed....:scared1:

OK, the news about gas prices and the economy is just as scary... :scared1:

Do you watch Ghost Hunters? It is in the here and now A Haunting I think is re-inactments and that really does not provide proof if you ask me. If you need to watch the news after A Haunting....you will need to do as we do on this thread put on mindless sit coms or tasteless animated sit coms(Family Guy, Simpsons). They are much more effective than news.

Yes, the Exorcist was based on a real case about a boy.

Really????????

Oh and I've spent the past 2 days reading this thread. Great stories everyone. I have a few of them and also an Ouija board story. I'll try to post them later.

Oh, did anyone see the GH episode at the Weston State Hospital in WV? The woman in the show was my BFF from HS and college. Have NO IDEA why they bought the old mental hospital.

ETA: Who wants to plan a haunted ghost tour at the Moundsville State Penn in WV? Theyhave them every weekend during the month of October. :) The place is pretty creepy in the day, can't imagine what its like at night.

Perhaps you can answer a question for me, when they go to these abandoned mental hospitals or prisons they are usually owned by someone like your BFF. Why do people buy them and what do they do with them? Do they buy them because they speculate on the land? I never understood it.
I mean Eastern State is huge and if I am not mistaken it was a woman who owned it (long red hair early 50's perhaps)I do not remember her name but still I never get it.

Hi~ I found this thread a while ago and subbed to it, but I still have not gotten to read all the way through- :guilty:

Would you all mind if I join in on your ghostly conversations??:flower3:

First and most importantly, and much to my disappointment- I am not sensitive to anything!:sad1: I think my A.D.D. gets in the way of that!
smile-crazyspin.gif
But it does not stop me from trying!

I have been into ghosts/horror movies etc since I was a little girl. Thank mom for that- she was a cool mom- I saw the Exorcist before I was a teen and that made me just want to be scared ever more! IMHO- There IS no other movie more scary than the Exorcist though! So, most of the horror movies after that could not hold a candle!

30 years later-I am still waiting to be as scared as I was the first time I saw it:rotfl2:

I grew up with mom having card reading parties at the house and she would put together models for my brother's room of the old school monsters like, The Wolfman, Dracula, Creature of the Black Lagoon

Anytime DH and I go on vacation, we try and stay at B&Bs or Inns that are known to be haunted (we stayed at the Battery Carriage House in Charleston http://www.batterycarriagehouse.com/ b/c we saw it on Haunted History!)

A few Halloweens back- we stayed at The Logan Inn in New Hope PA (I am obsessed with the town, I try and get there any chance I get!) http://www.loganinn.com/ Now there- I felt really creepy when I went to bed. I was a dope- *I* was the one who slept by the door! DH is snoring away-and me? I am FROZEN in fear with my back facing the door and for some reason my body kept telling me to turn around on my other side- but I did actually feel FROZEN, I could not move- I felt like something was RIGHT behind me, staring at me...and I could not move. Finally it felt like it took every ounce of strength that I had to force myself to turn around! Nothing was there- but it was a very odd feeling.

We also stayed in a a few Inns in Rhode Island, Nantucket, Savannah (and shoot me now b/c, NO- I did not get over to Bonaventure!:headache: ) We only stayed one night in Savannah, but DH certainly want to go back for a few days.

My dream house would be to redo an old church with a cemetery right next door! I would feel right at home.

A few years back I got to join a Ghost Hunting group in PA- they were called Phila. Institute for Paranormal Research! My dream come true! http://www.pipr.org/index2.htm

I went on a few investigations, I even got to sleep over at Fort Mifflin during an investigation! I did not experience anything, but it was still once in a lifetime chance to do that!

Shortly after that- I left. Why did I leave!!? For some reason- doing the investigations just felt SO technical- it took the fun out of "ghost researching" for me. The tools, the reports we had to write- I just wanted to go in the place and see some ghosts!- I don't want to have assignments:rotfl2:

I love going into cemeteries and taking pics in hopes that I will catch something- not only that, I feel cemeteries are some of the most beautiful places you can see. So peaceful! I try and get DH to stop at some while we are riding the cycle- I always have my camera with me.

THIS is how weird I can be- see these pics on my mantel? They are NOT anyone in my family:lmao: I bought them at a yard sale one day when DH and I were in Lambertville NJ, I loved them so much I put them in my home. You can't believe how many people ask me who they are. The people I bought them from TOLD me they were part of the Coryell family- The Coryells were a big part of both Lambertville and New Hope history- but- I never believe everything people tell me, so, they could be part of the family- but I am not sure. The pics are cool though!;) (PS- this was taken at Halloween- hence, the pumpkins on the settee and spider webs behind the sconces)

Welcome...the more the scarier! Anyone who rates Exorcist as all time scariest is okay by me LOL. So have YOU seen the director's cut of the Exorcist? I found it made the movie even scarier b/c the director told which scenes actually happend (one of them was the one where the amoire went flyng across the floor.)

Is the director's cut the one with the "spider walk" scene? If so, I saw that in the theater.

Even if I got the DVD- DH never let's me listen to the commentary, I would have to watch it alone:lmao:

I have to watch Ghost Hunters alone- he hates the show! I must admit, it is not my favorite, but I still watch. The stories are interesting.

I was telling another Diser that I used to LOVE the show FEAR on MTV- does anyone remember that? I think that started a lot of these shows. I also liked the one where the family would stay in the haunted location all night with cameras.

There are so many ghost hunting shows now- some of them I am not too fond of.

I used to watch Paranormal State- I enjoyed how they would go in and investigate- but then, oh, everything would be all peachy in the end....b/c they said a prayer:confused3 No thanks.

I am going to start watching GH International and I set my DVR for the kids show with Chip Coffey- he cracks me up!:rotfl2:

Now the show Haunted History on the History Channel is great- I am not even sure if they have done any new ones in a while, have they???

I am picky about my ghost show viewing...and reading....:snooty:

Not sure if any of you have ever done the ghost tour of Church Street Station in Orlando......not even sure if they still do it.

DH and I did it years ago and we were the only ones on the tour! It was a very quiet and calm night. At one point, we were on the street outside of a building, the guide was telling us that it used to be, I believe, a crematory, all of sudden- the wind picked up and was blowing all of this dirt around us, it was so hard, it stung my legs!:scared1: Even the guide was freaked out.

But as fast as the wind came- it stopped! And it was just as calm and quiet as it was beforehand.

That was weird.

The director's cut is the one with the director giving comentary over the the whole movie it comes with the DVD. I watch the director's cut on most movies after I watch them to see if I missed anything that they were trying to get across. William Fredkin died a few years ago.
I am reading Ghosts Among us by James Van Pragh. I do not know if I trust him but the book is good and makes a lot of sense. I have read many of the ghost info books out there and they all say pretty much the same thing. I have had so many things happen to me that i would be an idiot to NOt BELIEVE!

I agree about Paranormal State. As far as Gh is concerned my husband will not watch it either. As for the things that happen on GH I know that the stuff in the lighthouse was true b/c we got photos too. I tired to post them but it came out too big.

Hi to everyone just joining us!!! (OMG, I sound like a talk show host! :lmao: )

LOL Breezy, I have spent the whole day at the computer doing work and checking this thread for diversion. Do you realize how many people read this thread a day. I looked and it looks as if the views jump about 1200 views per day so you are like a talk show host. LOL!!

Oh and I've spent the past 2 days reading this thread. Great stories everyone. I have a few of them and also an Ouija board story. I'll try to post them later.

My brother was very into the Ouija board- and not in a good way:sad2: He is, what I call, a negative person, he calls himself- sorry, but I do not mean to offend anyone, a Satanist:confused: I told him sorry- I do not believe in Satanism, b/c I do not believe in Satan- I believe there is good and bad. You can label them as you will, but it all boils down to good and bad people. He chooses to be negative and it reflects in his personality.

Anyway- I watched him and his girlfriend use it a few times- and let me tell you- SOMETHING was in the room that knew the answers to the questions he was asking! It knew what was going on, in the room, at the time! It said it was my father- but I believe other things come through the board and will try and fool you into believing them b/c you want to.

He spoke to so many spirits through the board- it was interesting, but I know you should not be playing around. He still has it in a box in the garage b/c you can't just throw those things away, that is what I hear anyway. I could not get the darn thing to move for the life of me. Those 2 would move get that needle to move around like no one's business.

DH and I took a class at the local college one time. It was about meditation, psychic abilities, ghosts, OH and I even learned how to see an aura! It was pretty cool!

Anyway- our teacher taught us, that anytime you feel negativity just picture surrounding yourself in a bright white light. When you get into your car, picture your car surrounded in while light- whatever makes you feel protected.

I had my past lives read by a woman, and she told me, if you get ANY negative thoughts- just pretend you have a DELETE button in your brain- hit delete, b/c those negative thoughts will stay in the Universe and only mean trouble for you!

Wow that is pretty intersting but you did not tell us what you learned about your past lives.

I hve never had it done but I had a recurring dream I used to so into a large yellow center entrance colonial house with green shutters the side door lead right into the kitchen. Then my room was in the attic there were open eaves and I could stand at the top of the landing and look over and see down to the bottom about 3 or 4 floors. I shared the room with another girl. I had it all the time for years over and over. This was before I knew anything about reincarnation. I have looked for that house b/c I know I will know it when I see it. Anyway. WE were at the mansions in Newport last weekend. I was at Chateau sur Mer and I was standing on the landing and it hit me that it looked exactly like my dream The lighting, the color of the wood and the way I could look from the top of the floors down to the bottom. I do not think ths was related to apast life though b/c the outside of the house was not the same. However you did enter the kitchen through the side. When visit those old homes I KNOW I had a connection with one of them. Of course the fact that I remember sleeping in an open eaved attic tells me I must have been a servant. Much like I am now(public servant)LOL.

Wow that is pretty intersting but you did not tell us what you learned about your past lives.

:lmao: I know! I ran out of time- I have to get my butt outside and clean the hull of DHs sailboat- he wants to get it in the water tomorrow!

I will be back later to tell you!:thumbsup2

Ugh! I am back- I was out there for 41/2 hours cleaning the inside of DHs boat! Thank goodness it is only 20'!

OK- my past life story-- I always wondered why I was obsessed with Early American things, pictures, furniture, houses, old places, and of course the Revolutionary War- no other war, just that one. It was an odd feeling- not in a bad way, more .....comforting.

A few years ago, I went to a woman that I found while at what you might call a "health" fair ? I know a girl who does Reiki and she asked me to check it out b/c she was doing some work there.

BTW- I also had Reiki done a few times- anyone else??

Back to my story- I met this woman who did Past Life Regression at this fair- got her card and ended up going to her.

When I fisr started the session, I was seeing some things here and there, but nothing emotional, but, the last one was filled with so much emotion, the only way I could explain it was.....it was real!

I saw an old mansion with pillars. It was night and I could see the light shining through the windows from the outside. It was some kind of "dance" I was at. I had a velvet dress on. There were men from the war all around- they were dressed well- it seemed they were soldiers, officers etc. They were dressed in Revolutionary War uniforms. I can "feel" the power in the room. (that was weird b/c the feelings were so real!)

I can feel that I was drawn to a man in a uniform and when the woman who was doing my past life asked me who he was, all I could say was, Commander. I can feel that he was very important. While I was telling her this, the feeling I had in the pit of my stomach was unbelievable- it felt like, when you are in a new relationship and the guy gives you - THOSE butterflies just by looking at you! THAT was the feeling I was getting.

I then remember being in my home (with this man) some time had passed and we must have gotten married. I was looking at a large table, we were having a dinner party- but all I could see was gold! All the forks, knives, and a few other things on the table were, gold. (the woman) asked me what was being served. And without missing a beat, I said, pheasant and peanut soup! Who says they are eating pheasant and peanut soup? She asked me how I felt. Well- I almost started crying b/c I had this overwhelming feeling of happiness! I was giggling almost to the point of crying! The happiness was so....strong! Again, I can feel the power at the table, there were a lot of important men there.

Then things got less clear. No real detail. I still did not know this man's name. I remember I had one son and he also ended up being important, or in power. I remember being older, and waiting outside for my husband to return, he was gone for along time. But I am not sure where he was.

And that is all I could remember- the only reason I say this could be true is b/c of the feelings I was getting were so real- you could not have that kind of emotion just by "thinking" of something- :sad2:

I would say up to almost a year later I was still getting feelings of "missing" someone! It was such a sad, sad feeling, like I wanted to "go home" :guilty:
