Whoa Barb! That photo is really crazy strange! It is so solid and weirdly shaped. You would expect a reflection to be more translucent.

The fact that it's solid is what makes me scratch my head. What the heck is it? :confused3

And what is frustrating is that we will likely never know for sure. :headache:

Did anyone watch the ghost show on the Travel Channel last night? The one with the ghost hunters at Bob Mackey's? What did all of you think?

I thought it was a bit spooky but felt they didn't act very professional. Any one of us could scream and run down the hall. :lmao:
We drive through Goldfield, Nev to visit my mom. I think the next time we go I'll try to find the hotel.

Since I'm getting very into the Halloween spirit as the weather finally starts to get colder, I'll share a photo that I took at my first ever ghost hunt. I put together a "composite" of the relevant pictures.

The first image is the house where the picture was taken. The second shows the entire hallway where it happened. The third picture is the ?? what the ?? photo and the last is a picture taken only seconds later.

The background -

This was several years ago and my DH and I were on a hunt with some friends who took us along. Now, understand, I don't do this often and I've only been on a few hunts. So we're not professionals.

Anyway, this was a very old, creepy house that was in the middle of renovations so it was vacant at the time. DH and his friend decided that during "quiet time" (where we all just sat quietly and observed) he wanted to sit in the basement with a friend of his. I sat upstairs in the ballroom (the basement had spiders - lol).

According to DH who, by the way, wasn't really into the whole thing and only went along to say he did (I guess "ghost hunt" was on his bucket list!), he and his friend turned off all the lights in the basement and were navigating by flashlight and the flash of the camera. The second photo shows the door at the end of the hall that you see closer up in the last two pictures. They grabbed some of the chairs that you see and settled in.

It was pitch black.

They sat there for about 20 minutes when they heard something outside that door. DH picked up the camera and used it and the flash to illuminate the doorway. He didn't see anything. He took another picture, still nothing. But he was freaking out and they decided to come upstairs immediately.

I heard them downstairs and I was chuckling a bit :)

Anyway, we noticed the third photo and the white thing when we were looking at the pictures the next day.

What the heck is it? It's not there in the nearly identical photo taken just seconds later.

Some say it's some sort of reflection off a surface, perhaps the chair.

I don't know what it is but I'm betting on ghosty elephant :rotfl2:

What do you think?

I don't think it's any kind of a reflection, it would show up in all the pics from that spot. Besides the chairs don't look like they would reflect very well - I mean, they're not all white & shiny. And no way would something to the side where there seem to be some stacked chairs reflect in front of the photographer. It would only reflect back at you IF it was in front of you.

I'm more interested in the dark shadow that seems to be hovering over the solid white 'thing'.

Ummmmm....just a quick question. If you can remember where the house is and you had permission in the first place to be on-site during that first 'hunt', then if I were you I'd think about going back and asking the owners if they ever had experiences there...on the other hand, they might think you're nuts...

agnes!

I watched and I liked it but as another poster said they aren't professional at all. I would definately watch again though, I liked it.:thumbsup2

I found the investigators incredibily annoying. All the screaming and shouting was driving me up a wall. I'll stick to GH and GHI.

You know watched and maybe I am crazy but the non professionals seem to make it more scary. I watched the show on Travel Channel from You TUBE in the at the Goldfiled and Virgina City and it was pretty scary. I guess it was because they were afraid while GH they do not seem really scared.

We did have permission to be there - the house, at the time, was used as an art gallery of sorts and one of the artists invited my friends group to come in and investigate. The building was said to be haunted by a lady in Victorian clothing who more or less just kept an eye on the place.

And it really is a lovely place! :lovestruc

I must say I watched Ghost Hunters today and did not find it all that bad. I would give it a 6.5. My son told me that there were TWO on this week. Is that right? I watched the one with the baby and the winery but he said there was one from Hawaii. Is that true?

I don't recall seeing anything from Hawaii - maybe it was a repeat? They show some before the show and after Destination Truth.

And Destination Truth was the Season Finale :headache: I like that show a lot - Josh is a hoot. And what a boring episode for the finale... :confused3

I didn't see anything that was in Hawaii. I don't think the TAPS team has ever been there.

 Hi y'all! And Welcome to the new posters to the thread

WDWBarb - cooooolllll pic! I also was drawn to the shadow in front of the white spot...interesting.

Ward - Very cool story! Ya coulda told me ya had story - I haven't been back to the thread in awhile, so I missed it.

And I almost started to read about the ouija story and then quickly clicked out of it....I don't even want to get my mind thinking about it :scared1:

I've missed almost every episode of GH this season :sad2: Ah well, I have some of them DVR'd though. I can't wait for the Halloween episode! Is it live again this year? (I think it was last year wasn't it?)

But I did tell you!  I emailed you when it looked like you hadn't been on for a couple of days.

Well I'm glad you found it. :lmao:

That ouija story was really good, but I think if I had an experience like you did I wouldn't want to read it either.

You can see back episodes of GH on the Sci Fi website too. I missed this past week's episode because of the presidential debate, but by the sounds of it, I don't think I missed much.

Um, I hate to break it to you, but it's not Friday night, it's Saturday - unless I am misreading your post (I'm kinda tired), in which case please ignore this post :rotfl:

Brace yourself this Halloween when TAPS takes you on the ultimate ghost hunt. The team returns to the Fort Delaware scene of this season's most jolting and revealing episode.
Commonly referred to as the "Black Hole," Fort Delaware was used during the Civil War as a POW camp that housed over 33,000 Confederate soldiers. Ravaged by epidemics and torture nearly 2,400 failed to escape and died on the island. The restless spirits have never left.
Join the exclusive seven-hour hunt from home with access to thermal imaging camera feeds and live Q&A with TAPS team members and host Josh Gates. Watch carefully for anything out of the ordinary — you'll be able to send instant alerts of any sightings you make straight to the Ghost Hunters!
