Oh, when I was mentioning the burning colors I just meant that you expect cardboard and paper to burn black/gray and that it was freaky that it burned that starnge shade of green. I told im not to burn the board. Idiot just took it and set it on fire without a cleansing or anything.

plastic and wax tends to burn green.
Actually fire is cleansing

Did you ever consider putting a tape recorder in the hall and asking them to speak to you? Try it. I bet you will get something. Aslo did you ever try and research your house? How old is it. Not that age of the house makes a differece .

I have two digital voice recorders - one I use for work and the other I use for school. I don't go back to school until the end of the month and that DVR has 20 hours left on it:eek: so thanks for giving me the suggestion.

I did research the house. The original owners built this house (by themselves!) in 1947. They had one son and he's still alive living a few towns over. I've talked with some of the old folk living here that knew the original owners but nothing strange was mentioned. Tori said the boy looked like he was dressed in clothes from the turn of the last century (shorts, suspenders with buttons on the shorts).
One time about two years ago I called the local radio station because one of the local psychics does a show once a month. He told me that he felt there were 2 kids in the house and they died from fevers. He wasn't sure if it was two girls or two boys or one girl and one boy, but he felt children.
When I called him I didn't mention a word about that. I just told him that I felt there was someone in my house and that's the impression he got. I know better than to give out information.
Obviously Long Island has been populated before 1947; maybe a family lived here or close by and moved away? But I know nothing of that.

One time I contacted John Z (can't remember his last name but it begins with a Z) I was watching TAPS a few months ago and surprise! There he was!
John Z told me he would come over and check out the house but that I had to have it blessed before he came. DH wanted none of that. We attend church regularly and he was afraid that Fr. Tom would think we were crazy. I tried to go back and forth with DH about this, but he Will Not Budge.
So I emailed John Z back and told him thanks but no thanks.

Some folks might think that people who believe that a certain man died and was then able to come back to life after three days in the ground and who further believe that this resurrected man is *the* son of God...well, some folks might think that these 'believers' were crazy. (Not to mention that they also believe this resurrected man's mother was a virgin...)

I understand your DH's hesitation, but I'm a Christian and sometimes I think people who are inside a faith forget how whacky that faith's tenets can seem to outsiders.

And I'm sure that Fr. Tom has heard more what some might call 'crazy' confessions and had more talks with parishoners about so-called oddball things than you could ever dream of.

Maybe you two could ask Fr. Tom to simply bless your house? I mean, it's a good thing to have your house blessed, I'm sure people ask their pastors for blessings all the time. (Nobody said you have to tell him the complete reason why, though I confess I would feel a tad bit odd not telling my pastor why I want a blessing...)

agnes!

I told my DH that exact same thing: That we can just simply have it blessed and not mention a word about the hallway ghost. Our addition was pretty new and that was a good excuse, but no.

My BF's neighbor's cousin is psychic and I've met him twice. BF's neighbor is going to try to get his cousin to come over to my house. Now that I'm thinking about it, we're going to have a party in August. That would be the perfect excuse to get him over here

Isn't it the Catholic Church who often provides exorcsists? I do not think he would think you are crazy. There are more things in Heaven and Earth than man can comprehend. I am sure that his seminary education included something concerning souls who do not cross over. I feel like if they are little children and are trapped it is kind of sad. Obviously, they interact judging from the story about the workman in the cellar. Seriously, I would want to have them move on because their souls cannot advance if they are earth bound.

Is the name like Zigolwski or something like that?

Only posting to say....I see there are new stories :cool1: , but I still have yet to sit down and read them and the responses.

I'll be back tonight I'm sure.

In the meantime - keep 'em coming! :teeth:

Hi B,

Is that a BLT I see? I think that is what I will be having for lunch..thank you very much!

Absolutely loving the stories and everyone's different points of view. I grew up with a grandma who absolutely loved telling me her ghost stories, so it's no surprise that I still love them today.

A few of mine:
#1 - This was at our former home. DH had gone hunting and was staying at the cabin for a few nights. So, when my MIL called to keep DD, I relished the thought of having a peaceful night all to myself. I must have dozed off because the next thing I remember, I had a very cold chill. I sat up to pull the afghan around me and happened to look in the hallway. There was a little girl, about 4-6 yrs old that was crossing from our bedroom to DD's. She had very long, wavy blond hair with a lacy white dress/gown. DD always said that she played with "Sally", but I had chalked it up to an imaginary friend as she was 5 at the time, but after seeing the little girl myself, I quickly changed my tune.

#2 - This was at my childhood home (although I didn't see it with my own eyes, thought it was a neat story). There was only one home in-between ours and my grandma's. She was outside with my Aunt one summer afternoon picking veggies from the garden. All of a sudden, my Aunt said, "Who is that over at XXX's house? He looks so familiar, but I can't put my finger on it." When Grandma looked over, she said her stomach just drew up. She said he was the spitting image of my Grandpa's father. He had on farm overalls, a long-sleeved flannel shirt, and a cap. He was just looking into our chain-linked backyard. After a few seconds, he was not there.

The next day, our neighbor met me at our mailbox. She said, "I just thought I'd let you know, there was an older man standing in your front yard this AM. I said hello, but he just quietly smiled. Do you have company?" I asked what he looked like, and she described the exact same man that my Grandma and Aunt had seen the day before. I like to think that he was just quietly observing our life, but thought it unusual that none of us had seen him.

I often see "corner of my eye" things and have unusual dreams, but nothing too out of the ordinary has happened (so far!)

I'm Russian Orthodox, and every year the priest comes to all our homes and blesses them. I doubt anyone would think you were crazy asking for a blessing.

I am waiting for some good stories I had to resort to YOu Tube "A Haunting" I was so desperate

I found this poor little thread on page 5!!! It is thundering and lightening right now anyone got a good story?

The fire may be cleansing, but I don't think it did him any good.... the ex, not the ouija

Finally watched Psychic Kids. That episode had me crying near the end. The Father of the missing man was so grateful that they were trying to help.

They haven't had one not be psychic yet. Not sure if they would ever show that. I figure Chip would know if they are or aren't. Wouldn't he?

I don't know. It entertains me.
