Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

Ok guys since your board I have a couple for you! I did post these on another thread awhile back so sorry if for some its a repeat!:goodvibes

Ok first up my family had always sensed things and been into the "ghost" thing a bit, believed in it and such with that said...

My son who is now 8, has always had a "sense" about things. When he was small (even before he talked) it always seemed that he seen and interacted with "something".

We live in my grandparents house, from my mom's side they were both gone before my son was born. Anytime anything would happen we would say "it was gram & pap". I have pictures up of them in the kitchen and the living room, and when my son was old enough one day I was holding him getting something out of the fridge he says "I know them mommy, its gram & pap" Now of course there were pictures of them up so it couldn have very well not been anything paranormal, who know's.
Jump to oneday my son is playing in the living room looks up and say "mommy who is that" I look up and just say Its gram & pap, he is like NO, not them, THEM, WHO ARE THEY? well of course I seen nobody and said honey I dont know? well he was getting irritated that he didnt know them and neither did I.

Sometime later,(couple weeks or so) we were upstairs cleaning, you know going threw box's, throwing stuff out and such, well I come to a box my dad had given me some time before with pictures in it of his family, now I wasnt very close with my dads side or my grandparents (my dad's parents)whom of which had passed away before my son was born also, Anyway I lifted up some box's and seen the pictures my dad gave me, and sat down and started looking at them. My son from behind me says "Mommy, Mommy there they are the other people in the kitchen, see I knew you know them"....... I was holding an 8x10 of my dads parents, the last church photo they had taken! yes I got the willies!!!!

I'll be back later with another one!

Is it later yet???

Tonight my older son and his financee came over. My other son(MR. EVP) played the evp he got and I spoke about it the earlier thread. They said the voice souned like ME!!!!!:scared1: OMG ! That creeped me out even more??? I have chills again. I did NOT listen to him play it but they would not believe that it was not me. MY husband KNOWS it is not me and he is pretty shaken up.

WOW!:scared1: Great story danalee! Looking forward to others from you.

BTW, our smoke detector went off today. Out of the blue, no cooking going on or anything. We had just gotten back from the pool and I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but we were talking about father's day and out of the blue, my son started talking about his Grandpa and it sure was sad he was dead - sounds simplistic, but they were his words. We started to talk about the things he still remembers about Grandpa - just a nice talk. Anyway, the smoke detector went off for a very short time - not even long enough to determine which one it was (we have many - if you can recall from my other story). I made DH come inside because I wanted to make sure nothing was on fire anywhere. when I seemed confused - DH laughed and said, "well, it is father's day..." So strange. We haven't had a smoke detector incident since the last one I described in my story which has to be roughly almost 4 1/2 - 5 yrs ago.

Breezy, have you ever thought that you son might 'give off' certain energies? I don't remember the term for it (I'm sure someone on here can help me with it) but I remember specials on it, it's almost like a poltergeist type of thing but it's energy when the mind gets 'wound up' . Getting him to remember Grandpa my have got his energy going.

I've heard about alarms going off, lights turning on, etc...

:confused3 Just a thought, not trying to freak you out or anything.

I'm going to go surf the net to see if I can find the correct definition, I don't know how clear my explaination above actually sounds.

Psychokinesis is the word I was looking for. It can be triggered by emotions.

I've heard stories about it happening more with children, but it can certainly be adults too.

I mean, if you believe that sort of thing, of course. :rolleyes1

It doesn't seem so far fetched if you think of it like your mind being a remote control and people give off energy so heck, it could be real. (sorry, just trying to rationalize and not sound like a total nut-job here  )

I've thought about that, and he might, but the three times they've gone off - the first time he was napping (the day Grandpa died - and I verified it was hours after he'd officially passed), the second time I was with DS and DD at my parents (the one with the farmhouse) and only DH was home at the time (and all the firemen  ), and today DH and kids were out back playing frisbee - I was the only one in the house - we did have the screen door open though. :confused3

Here's some other stuff I've experienced in our house. I believe I've told y'all about DH and I always seeing stuff out of the corner of our eyes on the catwalk and about the white mist.

I don't think I've told you this yet (If I have I apologise, but it's too long a thread to go back and check ;) ). I hear footsteps in our house too. I'm sure y'all can relate - mother's instinct - whatever, but DS had night terrors growing up and he's pretty much grown out of them, but when he was old enough to not be in a crib, he would come down to our room in the middle of the night and wake me by saying mommy. But, he never had to wake me - I always heard him coming, no matter how soundly I was sleeping, he never caught me by surprise - a mother's ears ;) . What creeps me out is the footsteps that I hear come into our room and stand (not next to my side of the bed like DS would do but...) at the foot of our bed. I've even opened my eyes expecting to see DS there, but he never is - noone is. But the footsteps are plain as day and I am definately NOT asleep when I hear them. I've most recently (about 4 or 5 months ago) heard breathing and footsteps coming down the hall that sounded like my daughter. I was wide awake at the time, but just laying in bed. I saw a shadow about 3-4 foot tall "walk" past our bedroom door and turn. I thought the shadow was strange - but still thought it was DD going down the steps . I told DH that DD must be up, but she must be out of it because she didn't come into our room, and I wanted him to go get her before she fell down the stairs or something. DH went into the guest room across the hall from us to see if she went in there, went downstairs to see if she was down there. He told me he couldn't find her and went to check her room - she was deep asleep. I'm a little freaked by then because the only way back to her room is back past our door and down the catwalk. I truly believe this is my first experience seeing I guess what Jay and Grant call shadow people. I KNOW I heard the footsteps and saw the shadow, but what creeps me out to this day is the sound of that breathing.

Oh, and our basement door has opened by itself. We don't have a finished basement and the door really sticks so it's tough to open and doesn't even open all the way. We never go down there and the kids have strict rules not to go down or even open the door. We have 2 kitties and don't want to chase them all the time down there. So Dh and I are the first ones up one morning and the basement door is wide open. Neither one of us had been down in weeks and we both do a "sweep" of the house before we go to bed to make sure every door is locked and such - basement door was definately closed the night before.

So, quick question. Are these things following me? Or are the ones that are in my new house relatives. Or are both possible. DH is the one that saw the full bodied apparition though, not me. And he's never had anything happen until we moved into our house.

I would LOVE a rational explanation to everything, but I'm a very rational person - and when you experience some of this stuff - it leaves ya going like this :confused3 . DH seeing an actual full apparition makes me actually feel better in a scary sort of way. I mean it validates to me that something is going on. We do sound like a bunch of "nut-jobs" though don't we :rotfl2: .

Good question. It certainly sounds like they are following you. Do you have any antiques? :confused3 Maybe they're connected with those?

I think it's time for you (and Bella the Ball) to call Jason & Grant.::yes::

I'm glad I can say I haven't had any permenant house guests here at my new house. Just a couple of instances right after DH's grandma died. I told everyone about the Life Alert system that kept going off after she died. Well, we did have 2 more instances after that- all of these things happened within 3 days of grandma's death.

1.My daughter's tv would come on after she'd already been in bed and asleep for a couple of hours. The first time it happened, I thought she might have rolled over on the remote, but it was on the dresser. Then I checked the wake up timer on it and it wasn't set either.:confused3 It happened on 2 different nights.

2. I had bought creme soda for Grandma. It wasn't something we normally drank. Well, I bought it the night before she died and we never even opened the bottle. In fact, it sat exactly where I put it the night I bought it for 3 days. DD asked if she could have some (pop is a special treat for the kids). We had just been talking about Grandma-(all nice thoughts of course, she was really just the sweetest lady) and I was thinking to myself "I'm glad Grandma's at rest now and not in so much pain anymore." Well, just as I'm thinking that, I'm opening the bottle. Pop exploded EVERYWHERE. Pop spewed out of that bottle like someone had stood there and shook it for 5 minutes before I opened it. At first I was startled/shocked by it. Then I burst out laughing. I figured Grandma got one last joke out. She certainly was one that liked a good prank although she never played one on me, until then.

Ok gang here is another :goodvibes

Ok my son was 3 1/2 and we were taking a day trip to a friend of mine's house. The house was an old farmhouse that her and her husband bought to fix up and spend the weekends at.
So we went on our way, now the driveway to the farm house is kinda long, we start back it and me and hubby are chatting about how nice and peaceful the place looks and my son chimes in and says "is that pammy's daddy" now knowing that pam's family spend alot of time there as well to help with the fixing up there was a good chance her dad was there, I take a quick look around didnt see anybody but said "yeah thats probaly her daddy"

Ok jump to the house, we go in and pam startto give us the tour and we head upstairs, we go in one of the bedrooms and my son says "pammy this is your daddy's room huh" she tells him that it is.
Now I was pretty sure that her dad (who by the way is very much alive) didnt have a room there, but hey ya never know. Anyway later in the day we are catching up and I said "so whats up with daddy's room" to which she tells me that her and her hubby were hoping that my son would "sense" something at there new house, they have had things happen, all nice but strange none the less and after checking into the history of the house they found that an older man had died in the house years ago. Now for whatever reason they (her & her hubby) had always had a feeling that a guy presense was there. The room my son thought was his (the man) was the room that the door would never stay closed, they left closed the door came back it was open, put a box in the room with a lid on it, came back the next week and the lid under the box. So thats why they say thats "his room"

When my son was little we went two other times and he didnt say anything, he was still under 4 at the time, this last Christmas they had a holiday party at the farmhouse we went along with my son, he didnt say anything while we were there, and he vaugly remembered being there, when he was little.
I also have never said anything to him about Pam's daddy, so we were leaving for the evening and I said "thats farmhouse is so nice huh, me and your dad love it" to which my son says "well dont ever buy it, cause that place creeps me out" he didnt say why and when I ask he just said "cause it does" well ok then I didnt press it!

Another one coming later~::yes::

It doesn't seem so far fetched if you think of it
Oh, we are way past far-fetched on this thread, wardfamily. :rotfl:

Breezy, a thought. Have you ever watched Lisa Williams' show on Lifetime? They are repeats, but at the end of each show, she goes into a house that's got "activity" and she can tell who/what it is. I've seen shows where there was spirit activity in the home, but she didn't consider it haunted, just the spirits being around the people. Others have been haunted. (BTW, I met her last month.) Maybe you could try something like this from a local medium.

Very cool stories about your hubby's grandma - I kinda have a personal theory about the first three days after someone dies. I always thought that the soul sticks around for a few days after...I have no idea why I think that, I just always have. LOL

I do have antiques, which could explain why I haven't had experiences in a long while, not until we moved in here. There's a different "feel" to this house than the farmhouse. We have a warm feel, and not really scary. But, I've never felt comfortable at the farmhouse - never. And you'd think I would since it's been my childhood home since I was 11. who knows. Maybe it's time for one of Bella's smudge sessions. But I don't want to drive out relatives if it's them. And as far as TAPS is concerned - I'd be too afraid our house would end up being a 1 ghost episode :rotfl: .

I'd be interested if I could trust their validity. It would be interesting to hear what someone coming in "blind" to everything that's happened would have to say. Honestly, I wouldn't know who was "for real" and who wasn't. I have watched Lisa Williams b4. Tell me more about your encounter with her popcorn::

Not too much to tell. Saw her live show, then hung around to meet her afterward. In person she's the same personality you see on the show - very bubbly, with hugs all around. :thumbsup2

Ok gang this one by far had me slightly creeped out, my son said many things when he was younger that would make us go hmmm but it was like they say, the older a child gets the less they see/feel what have you. He questions things alot, but isnt consumed in any way with anything paranormal, and if its something he is interested in later in life, great, if not well thats great too.

Ok last summer my son came out onto the deck and says to me "mom do you think I could fall asleep while I was going #2" now keep in mind it was late, about midnight, we had been gone all day to picnic out of town and had gotten home about 30 minutes earlier, anyway with all that I said "well its been a long day so I am sure you could have fell asleep" not thinking to much about it other than it was kinda funny, we go in get some milk and make our way upstairs.
While he is getting in bed he says, "mom ya know when I fell alseep in the bathroom a little bit ago" yeah I remember "well I had a dream" um ok that could happen I guess, he then says "it did happen I dreamed about a lady and a little boy, do we know them?" of course I'm tired and without giving it any thought I said "how would I know, hunter it was your dream now lets get to bed' as I shut off his light he says "mom I think we did know them" I said ok you can tell me more about it in the morning.

Jump to morning, we slept in and I was woke up with a phone call, I have a cusion who lives in Tennesee, the night before him, his wife and there 2 sons were on there way home when they were hit by a drunk driver, his wife and one son were killed on impact. My son never met them he had only knew my cusion, I mean to tell you I got chills upon chills.
When my son got up, I ask him about his dream and why he thought we knew them, he said "I dont know but they said they came to say goodbye". Let me tell you I thought I was gonna pee my pants, right on the spot, I swear I shivered for 10 minutes!

I was just wondering if anyone here has actually thought about visiting one of the public places that the GH have been. My mom and I are seriously thinking of taking a weekend trip to Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Kentucky. I just love that place and think it would be an awesome thing to experience. The idea terrifies and excites me at the same time.

Slytherin-I did visit The Winchester House when I was in CA one time. It is pretty amazing and the story is strange, how she kept building til the day she died. I was interested after reading Rose Red by Stephen King. Felt like it had to based on that house. And the GH were there and found nothing. I didn't feel anything, but don't believe I am particularly sensitive. I have also been to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO on more than one occasion. I was working in Estes Park for the summer and spent an afternoon evening with a few workers from the hotel. They told us of the hauntings in the hotel and the theater next door. Didn't get any feelings there either. But after the GH show, I am conviced. That door didn't open in the room any other way. And the voices in the tunnels?? Creepy!!!

I don't actually want to meet a ghost. I love to read/hear stories. But that is it!

I just watched MonsterQuest on the History Channel last night. We had it DVRd. The one where they went to Lizzie Borden's house. I have decided that I do not like that show. They never find anything. They leave you hanging the whole show for one little evp that says "sooo". I am not impressed. And the 'ghost' on the gas station camera was so obviously a bug that I was laughing! And seriously! All those haunted gas stations across the country!? Come on!

Keep the spooky stories coming! I don't think you all are crazy!

Great stories danalee  .

Bella, I'm still creeped out by the voice sounding like you. And I can't shake the one where the ghost talked to your MIL.

Slytherin, I have never visited a GH's place, but if you go back to the beginning of the thread, Bella had a very cool experience at ST. Augustine lighthouse. I'll let her fill you in.

HerdOHuds, you have no idea how crazy I feel just for recounting this stuff, so thanks for saying you don't think we're crazy. I guess only sane, normal people would worry about sounding crazy so I guess we're all safe :rotfl2: .

Oh, and Slytherin, like I said b4, if we ever have a Dis GH investigation - ya don't want me around - I'd be the first one running out of the building screaming. :rotfl:

I guess only sane, normal people would worry about sounding crazy so I guess we're all safe :rotfl2: .

Hey Breezy this is good to know!!:rotfl2:

I always pick and choose, if you will, who I would tell these stories to, I mean they could think we are ready for the loony bin! I already have friends that think I am nuts because we visit Disney World as our prefered vacation! :rotfl: I am sure this would send them running and screaming!:lmao:

I did think of this one this morning....remember my house was my grandparents house and my grandma's dad help to build it for them, he had lived in a house beside ours that is now gone. My great-grandpa moved in here after my great-grandma passed away, my mom was only 10 at that time so my great-grandpa lived here for many years after with my grandparents. I knew him as well, he passed when I was 13, here in the house....

when my son started talking, putting word into sentences and such he would stand at our one window facing the garage and driveway, and he would say "hat man and kitty's momma" ok I had no idea what that could even mean. I would look out and of course not see a thing. Honestly I just thought he was repeating something he heard. So this went on for a while and one day I was on the phone talking to my mom and he was looking out that window and saying "hat man & kitty's, hat man & kitty's" he would always get kinda excited, like a little kid seeing kittens.......So my mom says "what is he saying" I tell her (and now keep in mind we are at this time starting to think that my kid can see or sense things) she says "Dana oh my goodness, grandpa pete always wore a hat" so still im like well mom .....and she goes on to say......"no but the window he is at, right underneath it was a coal window, (you know where they would deliver coal for a coal furnance) and thats where me and grandpa kept the all the cats"

Then it was like Ohhhhhhh there was always a stories told about when my mom was little that her and my great-grandpa had cats, like 33 of them at one time, and how they always followed my GG and he would bring them out of the basement in the day, (out of the coal window) and put them back the same way in the evening, it was about then my brother said "dana your kid is freaky":lmao:

Great Story danalee.

Bella, have you done the smuge yet? I would be REALLY creeped out if someone said the visitor sounded like me.:scared1: I guess you can look on the bright side, at least your visitor isn't violent or mean. (just trying to help;) )

I'm going to google Lisa Williams, I never heard of her before I just read about her on this thread.

I think it's really interesting, danalee, that your cousin's wife and son chose your son to show themselves to. They must have "known" somehow that he could "see" them. It really makes you wonder. IMO it speaks to the theory that certain people have the ability and certain people probably don't. I've never seen anything, though I'd welcome it. I think I do not have the ability. I do think my mother does, though, yet she has no clue about any of this stuff. :rotfl: (PS she's always seeing and hearing stuff - get this - in my house!! She lives with us.)
