Bella, does this stuff only happen on the third floor? I'm not clear about that.

I'm wacky about the spooky stuff. I sometimes turn on SciFi because a lame horror movie doesn't bother me and I can drift off to sleep. Now if it's a good movie then all bets are off.

yes it does happen on the third floor. I might not have been all that clear when I was writing it because my hysteria seeped in.

NOT WELL AT ALL!! I just keep hearing the sound of the voice( in my head) I know I sound like an old movie or something but you could hear the emotion in the voice and that is what got to me. Then I read that negative energy can disgusie itself and I FREAK. I want to try and help her but I am afraid and that is not good. My husband used to be an alter boy....I will make him do it. He gets home today. Of course yesterday morning I called him in tears. He knows be better than anyone and he knows that I am extremely empathetic then again it could have been the lack of sleep!

Last night I looked up pictures of "candy buffetts" on Google because I thought I would try and put one together at Christmas. Now that was a real stretch to get my mind off of it. I am going to go home today and just sleep.

When I get to school today, first thing my friend says is ...did she speak to you? I say , "Whom are you talking about?" She says, " The ghost in the attic." I had to correct her again , SHE did not speak to me but showed up on the digital recorder. I do not know what my friend thinks....like the spirit and I sit down and have a cup of tea and discuss the Sex and the City Movie???

Bella, didn't you say you lived there for 29 years? I think if it was 'mean' it would have shown it's meanness by now.

Yes I do think that but then again I always feel one cannot be too cautious when dealing with these things especially because it really is the unknown. . LOL I am laughing becuase we are talking abou this as if it we just another day at the beach. I am bumping early and hoping that my husband will do the smudge thing for me. I am thinking however, I have about as much chance of that as a blizzard in July! lol

So you were able to go get your smudge? Aren't you supposed to say some kind of prayer or chant or something when you do that? (I've only seen it done in the movies and you know how they love to add the drama. )

I tend to agree with this plus if it only happens on the third floor, stay away from there for now and maybe consider getting some local professionals in to help if it continues? TAPS has that long list of member groups and maybe one is close to you?

Okay I hesitate to relate this story b/c it sort of just happend yesterday. This thread got me to talking with my son about all this stuff. He has always maintained that when he was younger and had his bedroom on the thrid floor there was a woman who he would see. He would call me in the middle of he night telling me the woman was in his room. I told him it was just the moonlight etc. He has for YEARS maintained the there was someone there. We do hear what sounds like footsteps over our heads at various times during the day or night. He insists that once the woman came toward him when he was till in the crib with her hand out. He has related the story many times over the years . But still ....

So yesterday I tell him that when we go to the lighthouse in St Augustine that maybe we should bring a digital recorder. He looks at me funny and says I already have something . Now mind you my husband is away on business. L

Here is the story. About a month ago my husband was away and my son said he heard his name being called. I was asleep and he woke me up and said he heard the footsteps. I told him it was just the wood creaking (he is 19). I vaguely realize he went up to the 3rd floor but Idid not know what he was doing.

Fast forward to yesterday when I tell him we should bring the recorder to St. Augustine. He says, " I have something I recorded about a month ago when dad was away." Okay so I cannot even begin to tell you how freaked out I was! He asks if I want to hear it. I say NO. But really I figure he is just fooling with me so when he insists I say FINE! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hear him on the recorder and under his voice I hear what sounds like an old woman saying, " Help me" . I cannot put into words the chills b/c she sounded distressed but still I was not sure if he was fooling me. I do not think he did it b/c I could hear him and her at the same time. He said I told you there was someone up there. Well, my husband is away again and I sat up all last night! I do not know why b/c I have lived in the house for 29 years and I really think that if she is up there she means no harm.

Oh I forgot to tell you the history of the house. It was an estate sale and the man from the bank knew the family that owned it. He told me that the woman who owned it had had her sister move in when her sister's husband died. When we looked at the house there was a bedroom set in the room on the third floor where we hear all the footsteps.

Okay so I do not know why I even wrote this b/c it really freaked me out again. Wait that's not true I have been freaked out since he told me yesterday. I told my son NOT to do it again and if he did to use a prayer of protection AND to tell her to go to the light.

I am so freaked

I used to hear someone (something) calling my name when I was a kid. I slept with my scapular (probably spelled that all wrong) hanging from my bedpost. Yes, I was scared to be in my room. That is why I now only sleep with a TV on. It drowns out any noises.

I can't remember, but were you the one who said you'd be running out with me on a Dis ghost hunt? Cause I don't care if they're good or not, ghosts still scare the bajeebers out of me. I'm serious, my mom was the one who said to pray when I can't sleep at night - it works. I also try to watch the funniest sitcoms on at the time and fall asleep to the tv. That works too.

All I can say is "thank you Nick at Nite"

I'm tellin' ya, prayers and sitcoms work everytime for me. That and puting the covers over my head. If all else fails, have a drink. Then repeat the other two steps.

I would be calling TAPS and playing them the recording. I'm still over that.

No I have not gotten my smudge yet i have not had a chacne to to to Salem. I was just hoping my husband would just go up and tell her to go to the light. I asked him if he would do it and I told him what he would have to do but he could tell her to go ot the light w/out the smudge. He is still skeptical but really he has not heard the recording. HOwever if you ask me he seemed a little uneasy about it. I can 'cleanse" the house at anytime.

It worked for me (my story from a few days ago), I hope it works for you too, good luck!
