Currently have our first DVC stay booked in a standard view resort studio (yay!). Thinking about upgrading to lagoon view as I have 6 random surplus points for that UY that I don’t know what to do with, so after applying those I would only need to borrow 3 points from 2023. I’m curious about the amount of landscaping and trees along that side of the building though? Several of the touring plans photos make it appear as though a fair amount of the rooms have obstructed views of the lagoon, but then I saw a vlog that made it look as though the landscaping back there had been cleared out. Anybody with first hand insight or recommendations when making requests for either view type?

I didn't make a room request, I was just lucky.
If your stay is soon, you'll be happy you switched to lagoon view. Two weeks ago there was some construction (scaffolding) on the side with the standard view.
Enjoy your stay!

well this was our “theme park” view 2 weeks ago …. Moving from left to right of balcony. Magic kingdom was to the left. Room 9347. Don’t fall for it. 8168C0F8-693F-44F9-B83E-24DEEECA28D7.jpegA0C650BF-0E9B-46A4-97E8-D3733697CF3D.jpeg4245D493-F465-449C-96DA-A73BA5FDB993.jpegE851DFE8-3006-4F73-B0A2-E37D3A27B7D0.jpeg

Because it was a corner room we had 2 balconies. The second one was lagoon facing VGF and Poly. Lovely view. This room needs to be a “lagoon” rather than “theme park” view.

The room was brand new, very beautiful, nicely decorated. Felt luxurious and cozy at the same time. Lots of nice little details. An example would be the chandelier which is surrounded by glass birds. One of the birds was replaced with a Mary Poppins penguin. I was on the lookout for neighbors ripping paper sounds, but I didn't hear anything. I don't know if I had quiet neighbors or maybe I didn't have neighbors at all. But we didn't have noise problems.
We enjoyed the resort, the food, the drinks, the shops and especially the pianist in the lobby. If Disney would bring back the orchestra, I would buy direct points at VGF.

We had a very nice walk back from MK. We caught the Electrical Water Pageant returning for the night. That's the closest we ever got to it.

The pianist is amazing, I can't believe they let the GFO go. The resort is not the same without them IMO. This is our first DVC we bought in 2014, going back in 2 weeks for 8 nights in the original Villas. Looking forward to it, haven't stayed at VGF since before Covid.

I wish you a magical trip!
Don't forget about the truffle fries at Enchanted Rose. But do yourself a favor: pick any lounge room other than the main one (unless you're the screaming your lungs out while eating and drinking type). 😀

I was in Room 2417 on the 4th floor center right over the back door. Most of these photos are zoomed in a little. Beautiful views. You can see the top of WL and the Epcot Ball. I could also see Epcot fireworks. But I keep missing the water parade☹️
I loved the Lagoon view.💫✨😎
