I've heard that you can get water and/or groceries delivered to your hotel. I don't know ANYTHING about this.

I will most likely want a case of bottled water and maybe a few snack type items for our week long stay at Port Orleans Riverside.

Where can I get them delivered from?
Where do I get them sent to? The front desk? Our room?

Thanks!

Before our trip in October, I ordered some groceries from wegoshop.com to be delivered to our resort. Marge was very nice & delivered them on time to the Poly. She called me after she delivered them - we were on our way to the Poly on ME. We opted to pay ahead of time on our cc so she just dropped them off at Bell Services. We had the option to meet her in the resort lobby and pay in cash but I wasn't sure what we'd be doing - if the kids wanted to go directly to the MK or not. It worked very well. I would definitely use wegoshop again.

I tried gardengrocer.com which the ordering seemed easier but I just had a bad experience w/them prior to leaving so I cancelled my order and went to wegoshop. Others have had great experiences w/garden grocer though w/no problems. I would probably try them again.

I read on a post that if they are delivered to the hotel...the hotel charges you a certain amount of money per pound...is that true?

we used garden grocer the last two time and had no problem, would use them for our next visit. They have a very easy web site that you can log into to do your order.

Never heard of this. The Poly didn't charge us anything. We also sent some other items via UPS like diapers, cosmetics, shampoo, stroller cover, etc. The resort just held the pkg for our arrival - no charge on that either.

We used garden grocer. Groceries were left at bell services until we checked in. Fridge items were kept in the fridge and freezer items were kept in the freezer, so no need to worry about those items. There was no additional charge from the resort.

We were very happy with their service.

Has anyone had things delivered to POR?

Do I need to call and tell the hotel I'll be having things delivered?

It won't be a problem if it's delivered before we are there to check in that day?

You can call if that would make you feel better. But the resorts do this all the time. We timed the delivery of our UPS box of goodies so it was there a day prior to our arrival so it wasn't around for a long time. And wegoshop delivered prior to our arrival and they were held at Bell Services until they delivered them to our room. Really no problems. The grocery delivery companies and the resorts do this everyday. But if it would make you feel better you could call POR and ask them. I did this prior to our trip to WL (which we had to cancel) just to verify the address and make sure it was ok to send a box. They were very nice and said they would hold the box for our arrival. We ended up cancelling & they sent the box back no charge.

Have fun and a wonderful trip.

We used WeGoShop last month for our OKW stay and the service and Marge were wonderful. I just emailed her my grocery list, set the delivery time and they were prompt and very friendly. I have already booked our vist for next fall with her. I can not say enough good things. Huge thumbs up from me.

We even had Gardengrocer deliver beer and alcohol to us. They don't advertise this service on their website but if you are very specific in what you would like in their comment section they will bring it to you. For example 24 bud lite beer in cans as opposed to just ordering beer.

Do either of those sites have a minimum amount of stuff I must purchase? I won't need many things. Just water and a few snacks. $15-$20, tops. I was just reading the unofficial WDW guide and it says that the minimum at gardengrocer is $50 but I didn't see that anywhere on the website.

We have used wegoshop.com 5 times in the past and we have been very pleased. Marge has done a great job.
We order water, soda, juice, beer, wine, cheese and crackers and snacks. I have never seen a minimum order amount at wegoshop, but I have heard that about Garden Grocer. You may want to rethink though, if you are only ordering $10 - $15 worth of items. Each service does have a delivery fee. If you are ordering very few things, it may be cheaper for you to buy them at the hotel shop rather than pay the delivery fee. Do the Math for yourself.
Have a great trip.

1) Sometimes.
2) If you stay at a convention hotel, the convention staff charges you.
3) The handling charges can be $21-$45 extra for the groceries.
4) Convention hotels include CSR, GF, YC/BC, CR.

NOTE: Convention hotels do not know if the goods delivered were for meetings or not, so they charge you the convention handling fees. It all depends who at the hotel accepts the goods. Unfortunately, you don't know until you get the charges on your credit card, sometimes 2-3 weeks later. It should be noted that these fees are meant to cover the fees paid to employees per contract.

Where at the hotel could I get a case of 24 bottles of water for $7.99? And boxes of crackers and stuff for around $3.50? A $12 service fee isn't too bad, I don't think. It's worth it if it means I don't have to go out searching for things.

I recently used garden grocer for the first time. There was a $40 minimum on the order and then a $12 delivery charge. I was very happy with the service and will definitely use them again.
