Will TS and Signature restaurants prepare desserts "to go" if you are on a dining plan? I will be eating at some restaurants and cutting it close to fireworks shows. I'm wondering if they would put my dessert in a container so I can enjoy it later? Has anyone out there done this?

Yes you can pack up the dessert and take it with you.

As the PP said, yes, some of the desserts can to packed up "to go." Your server can probably help you figure out which desserts travel the best. For example, cakes travel well, but mousses might melt if it's warm.

and make note of desserts that come ala mode...or topped with whipped cream...if it's something you'd like such as a brownie sundae or apple crisp ala mode. We've ordered these kinds of desserts to-go and just asked them to leave off the ice cream & whipped toppings. For example, got some sort of fudge-cake dessert at a table service that was supposed to topped with ice cream & raspberry syrup & chocolate syrup. They packed it for us, skipping the ice cream but they did include two little snap-lid containers with the raspberry and chocolate syrups. If was a lovely breakfast, lol.

We hardly ever eat our dessert at the restaurants...just too much food! Like a pp said, leave the ice cream off and stick it in your fridge at the resort. One thing we do if we want ice cream with it later is to go to our resort and buy a scoop of vanilla or use a snack credit for it and we have a dessert later on which is nice. Another thing we do is always carry a couple of ziplock bags with us in case we are eating a CS and want to stick a brownie or cookie in there that was leftover to eat later as well.

This upcoming trip, we have scheduled a sit down meal at ViaNapoli just for dessert which we are getting to go. Unfortunately, they won't let you walk in and order a dessert to go so we have to go through the hassle of going in and being seated just to tell them we want to order a couple of desserts to go but I love the ricotta fritters so it is worth it to me!

As others have said...yes. Unless it is a buffet or family style, then you are probably out of luck.

Not a problem usually, but remember some desserts are not suitable to packing up to go. I know I once ordered the chocolate trio at Yachtsman and wanted it to go. The waiter said two of the items on it would not be a problem but I'd have to eat the chocolate creme brulee there or else skip it. I also got another one of their dessert trios there that had a lemonade popsicle thingy on it. Of course I had to eat that part of the dessert trio there too. Once at California Grill I wanted dessert to go and the waiter told me none of the desserts they were serving that night were suitable for packing up to go, but they did have a chocolate cake that was off menu that the chef had prepared for anyone wanting dessert to go and that was his recommendation. I did not want chocolate cake, so he let me have the cheese plate to go instead. I've also gotten the cheese plate to go at Yachtsman and Jiko too, when nothing I wanted on the dessert menu was able to be boxed up. Anyway, my point is TS restaurants have no problem boxing desserts up to go, but it may or may not be the specific dessert you actually want.
