I keep reading about how complicated and time consuming it can be to get to and from DTD. I'll be staying at POFQ, so I'll be able to take the boat. Does that make it any easier/faster?
Also, what is the best way to get from DTD to the parks?

Personally I sit back and relax and enjoy the ride. We love taking the boat to DTD. But that can be time consuming now if you miss the boat. The buses are great. Just know you wont be there 5 minutes after you get to the bus stop.

I would never take a bus from POFQ to DTD. The boat is enjoyable. The bus will make a bunch of stops.

From DTD I would take the boat back to POFQ and then a bus to a park. Or take a boat to SSR. Or Just walk from DTD marketplace where the boast depart back to the resorts, It's a short walk to a SSR bus stop.

Downtown Disney to parks always requires making a connection at a resort.

But to and from a resort, the DTD bus runs the same manner as the park buses.

I went this time last year and stayed at POFQ, found the ferry to be faster than the bus to DTD.

It's easiest to go from your resort to DTD -- much more difficult to try to go from one of the parks to DTD.

If you don't have your own transportation (i.e. car), I'd recommend that you don't try to go from a park to DTD. Much too time-consuming.

It takes awhile to get to DtD because its pretty far from most of the parks and hotels. From POFQ, I'd definitely take the boat as its a nice relaxing ride and just a different experience from taking the bus. We only go to DtD once per trip, so the time it takes to get there isn't a big deal for us.
